This is possibly the very best accessory I have bought ever. I thought I was going to be disappointed by the lack of Force Feedback but it really isn't something I miss at all. The resistance band on the pedals is incredibly effective and the action of the wheel is very responsive. The Manual and features:The manual is lacking as is the case so often these days. While it shows the dial for righthand side of the wheel it fails totally to explain what it is, why it's there, what it does. I've had the wheel several weeks now and apart from changing the camera settings on Forza I fail to see its purpose. It appears to be pretty much redundant which is a great pity.Tip 1 - The manual also fails spectacularly to explain that the "Engine Start" button doesn't start the engine (unless you have a game that will let you programme it" but is a multidirectional button that functions as the D-Pad from the X-Box controller. It isn't intuitive at all and I stumbled across it by accident. Pressing the edges of the button will move the cursor about for selections and so on.Tip 2- Having just said how bad the manual is my next tip is carefully read the section about the sensitivity setting adjustment. You will need to do this each time you plug the unit in which is one of the very few downsides I have found. Doing the sensitivity adjustment though will make a huge difference to performance. Each time you press the relevant buttons and pull on the two metal flappy paddles the light on the right of the wheel base will flash a number of times. The manual reveals how many for each level. I have found 3 flashes to be the best for Forza 6. The second downside of this pedal is the site of the light. It is just in the wrong place and is obscured by the wheel meaning you have to bend at an odd angle to see the number of flashes. You only need do it once per session though so it's not a major flaw by any means. The Quality:The quality of the unit is really very good indeed. It's particularly evident where the table locking bolt fits under the wheel. Normally this sort of fixing is flaky at best but on the Spyder 458 wheel is look less substantial than it actually is and I see no reason other than badly abusing it to cause this socket to fail. The table lock itself is a real plus and very easy to use. This is my second tip of sorts that you will need a table or solid surface to use this wheel. There is no way it could be used effectively without locking it down. but as I state above the mechanism is excellent. The Stand:This brings me to my last point and it is a really important one. To date Amazon continue to advertise "

Firstly, there seem to be many negative reviews from people who were expecting this wheel to have force feedback / rumble. It doesn't claim to have, so you should only be surprised if you've not read about It before buying. The wheel and pedals are lightweight, but still well built and solid. It's not one to have on your lap, you need to clamp the wheel to a surface or table and the supplied clamp is well up to the job. The controller /button layout replicates that of the real Ferrari 458 wheel, so although not the same as many other wheels on the market it works fine once you remember where things are.I'm playing on forza 5 and have the sensitivity set to max, and it is responsive enough.Play with the in game settings to find the deadzone tolerances you prefer - the defaults are not great. It did auto detect straight away, but I went into the settings to reduce the max travel on the pedals as I think the full pedal travel is a bit too far. Now I have it setup as I like and it's working perfectly. The gear shift paddles are solid and quick to respond, and the elastic band system for wheel resistance works nicely. The only gripe I have is that the pedal bases lift up off the floor sometimes when pushing the pedals down. This is annoying so I've had to strap it down onto the base I'm using. If you are putting it straight on the floor you could have a problem. The instructions also do not tell you how to change the physical pedal configuration. You can turn around each pedal head to give it a different angle of attack. To do this you have to unscrew 2 small screws. DO NOT use the supplied screwdriver head for this, its poor quality and rounds of the screwdriver and the screw head!Overall it's a great addition to add to the fun of playing. The only reason it's not 5 star is the price. For the same price, I was able to get a force feedback wheel for the xbox 360. It's very frustrating that with this generation of equipment you get less for the same price. Hopefully someone else will come into the market and shame the few suppliers who are currently milking the uncompetitive market.

I recieved my Thrustmaster 458 Spider wheel today, firstly let me tell you as this reviews title suggests dont I repeat DONT believe the bad reciews on this little beauty its an amazing bit of kit for so little money, I bought this to get back into racing as I have both Forza titles but to be brutally honest this wheel is better with Forza 5 than Horizon the reason I say this is because 1/ no force feedback and 2/ no matter how much I tinkered with the dead-zones it was was still naff on Horizon but forza 5 is a different kettle of fish after watching a couple of UTUBE vids I set me wheel up through F5 menu and I put my wheel on mode setting 4 this transformed the way the wheel responds to thegame and for me now the controller is a thing of the past. The Spider wheel is dead easy to set up it came with a clamp for a table and a 2 pedal set but I stress either get a decent desk setup or buy as I did the (wheel stand pro) and you will love this wonderful wheel.I wanted this basically to see if I'd invest at a later date in a TX force-feedback wheel and I undoubtley now will but I am in no hurry as this wheel is so much more than a tester wheel.i gave this 4/5 stars purely because there is no rumble or force feedback but seriously you cannot go wrong with this wheel I knew when ordering it it didnt have FFB so knew what to expect but I was suprised to find that the bungie tech they used was superb its tight to steer but not overly and the pedals are great the progressive braking is never used on wheels this price so thats a bonus and the pedal plates can be switched depending on your seating positionOverall I would say 5/5 if the FFB wheel didnt exist just because it is 4/5 but get this and look in the mirror at your smile which undoubtedly you will have when you connect it up.Happy gaming!!!

I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews that I could have a nightmare trying to configure the wheel. The instructions really arent very good and I did end up watching a couple of youtube videos but once i figured it out, it wasn't too bad. Once operational, it works really well, has a good feel and you don't really notice the lack of force feedback. I did however do something rather silly. A bolt comes with the unit which goes into the underside of the wheel base to clamp it down. The stand that I bought didn't need this to be used, but to keep it safe I thought I would screw it in place. However, i wound it in too far. I didn't know this, but the wheel would not work properly. It would only turn in one direction and with some delay. I took the unit apart and realised that the bolt had gone in too far and dislodged the sensor inside which picks up the rotation of the wheel. I was then able to fix this and put it back together. Then worked perfectly.

Never had a racing wheel since Colin Mcrae rally, so abit of reading took me to the 458.Its tough, built to take abit of pushing about. The rubberised sections on the wheel give good grip and the buttons are easy enough to get to.Requires fitting to a desk unit or something and it wouldn't be a bad idea to anchor the pedals abit better - mid braking the base can tilt underfoot the odd time. Dont overtighten the bracket when doing this though as you can break the plastic.Plug and play on xbox one works well with dirtand forza 7. The only downside is the slight lag delay between the wheel and in game response, but it's minimal and can be corrected with adjusting the sensitivity (two paddles and b & y buttons all at once)toggling through the 4 settings.Don't see this breaking soon. In its price range £100 and under is probably one of the better wheels.

The Thrustmaster 458 Spider arrived within 48hrs. I have to admit, for the price, it was worth every penny. I connected it to my xbox one & tried it with Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Motorsport 6. It worked flawlessly. The build quality is excellent. The clamp is adequate. The only caveat I have is that the pedals are really quite firm to push. Within a few minutes of using them my right thigh felt like it had had a good workout. Another issue is that due to the firmness of the pedals when depressed fully, it tends to make the base raise & tip forward. It also tends to slip on the carpet. My son has size eleven feet & the base is just comfortably large enough for him.The one saving grace is that there are 2 bolt holes under the base allowing for it the be secured to a larger base. We're it not for the pedal problem I would have given 5 stars.

Ive never written a review before but felt i needed to with this wheel. First off dont listen to all the 1 star reviewers complaining about there arms hurting because its to hard to turn (do u even lift brah). The wheel is amazing for the price, ye it is slightley plasticy but that dosent change how good the wheel is. Ive been playing forza horizon 2 with it the last couple of days and its 10x more fun with it plus after abit of practice im alot better than what i was with the controller. Would recommend buyin a stand with it, mine isant coming for a while so i made one for now, it works fine but not to comfy after a while. If your thinking about buying one but dont want to spend 300.Dont hesitate like i did just buy it u wont regret it. And merry christmas dudes

Never owned a steering wheel before as I always expected them to be a bit naff!(plasticy not responsive and easily broke). But thought what the hell 60 odd quid I'll give it a go. Pleased to say I'm actually really impressed, it's pretty tough, clamps onto the desk well and pretty much mimics what you do as much as a hand controller. It's takes a bit of organising to position the pedals comfortably as the pedals are in a bit of a strange angle and for me and they moved a bit, but stick summut behind it and it's OK. it doesn’t have feedback but I don't need it for an extra 200quid. Overall I'd recommend to any racing fans, gives the game a bit more of a dimension.A mclaren option would have be preferable though ?

This is a well made and robust item that my grandson saved his pocket money for.The the product instructions that come with it are pretty rubbish but we found a lot of help on youtube.(Even those can be unnecessarily complicated though). This is pretty much a plug and play item that an 11yr old and 8yr old soon got to grips with, navigating their own way through the controls and the game menus. If it is bought for somebody who has only just got their first console and is not fully familiar with the XBOX 1 controls it would be more complicated to navigate around game menus to begin with but, for some who has been using one for a while, it is a breeze.

I have had no problems with this wheel, the wheel itself is really nice. I have played Project cars and forza and it has made me enjoy it much more.Only a couple things though..The pedals don't have a decent grip to stop them sliding so I have had to put them touching my wall so they don't move. The steering wheel has nowhere to plug the headset in for Xbox one. You will need to use kinect if you want to talk whilst using the wheel. It took literally 2 mins to setup and I would recommend it for kids and adults alike. It's good value for money considering the force feedback model is over £200 and this is £60, no regrets.

For the money you can't go wrong!!! My wife bought me this as a birthday present as I am a big kid!!! I've been using it on Forza 5 and it's brilliant, brings the whole game to life and makes it a lot more challenging although having driven an actual 458 I can say the game makes it a lot harder to drive than in reality!!! However the steering wheel just adds a whole new dimension to the experience. It's sturdy, the pedals are great, I would say the hardcore gamers will probably want something with more feedback, but if you just want a couple of hours fun it's spot on. One tip by the Wheel Stand Pro!!!

Hi EveryoneJust bought one of these racing wheels and after a very very long debate with myself whether I should get one or not I did it and have no regrets with my purchase. The price is great, the feel is comfortable and in game its thrilling!! I've only played it with the crew as I'm waiting for Forza 6 to come out on the 10th so will update my review when the proper racing game comes out!! Although it does not rumble or has no force feedback, the bungee cord and the sounds of the car through the TV are more than enough for the price you pay!! Would recomed to anyone and everyone!! Great buy :-)

Having never had a steering wheel before I thought I'd try this before splashing out for a higher model. I've only used it on Forza Horizon 2 so far but its brilliant! So much more engaging than the gamepad but it does have a learning curve to it.The wheel feels pretty solid and does rotate smoothly, but as it uses "bungee cords" the first few degrees are very light getting heavier through its rotation. I use a wheelstand pro with mine so can't comment on the clamping system or the grip of the pedal base.Overall I am loving this wheel and my brother has now bought one too. Highly recommended!!

Firstly I would like to say that this is a very good racing wheel. It feels well built and of high quality and i would 100% recommend it to anyone looking to buy a cheap but decent racing wheel. However at no fault of the wheel it is unsable on forza horizon 4. on every corner you spin out making it very frustrating and hard to play. however I have heard that it work on other racing games so keep this in mind when purchasing. overall I think this is a very good racing wheel for an affordable price however due to it not being able to work on forza 4 I had to send it back

I was a little dubious given the price and some previous comments, but it's lockdown and I'm bored but reluctant to spend a lot of money on one of the fancy wheels available so went for this one.Very surprised that it's as good as it is for the money, worked fine for me straight out of the box and makes racing games so much better. Given some of the other reviews I was expecting it to be a hassle to set up but I had no issues with it at all, simply pluged the pedals into the steering wheel, wheel into Xbox and then switch on and away you go
