If you're reading these reviews then you're probably trying to figure out: 'this looks cheap and plasticky, is it really worth trying?'And I'm happy to say that in my experience, yes it is.I've owned a number of steering wheels over the years but have never been a massive racing game enthsiast. However I've been a bit obsessed recently after buying a Logitech wheel for Xbox. A gearstick quickly became the next obvious upgrade to my setup and I was a bit worried that this would be a rubbish novelty that I'd quickly grow tired of.Does it feel like a real gearstick? Well no. The 'throw' into each gear is quite light, subtracting a bit of 'feel' that you'd hope for. It's also sometimes easy to put it into the wrong gear or occasionally tricky to get it into reverse (Push down and into '6th') - although these never ruined my experience. I would highly reccomend playing around with your chosen game's settings a fair bit until it feels right, especially the clutch pedal deadzones and sensitivities. However, once you give it an hour or two of practice it does become second nature and slips into muscle memory. I found myself adapting to this far quicker than the paddle shift on the wheel and it gave me a lot of extra control when playing rally games where I wanted to drop down to a specific gear quickly. Overall it adds a huge amount to the experience of driving games and I don't think I'd want to play them without it now. There are a few modifications I've seen online that you can do to this too (which I haven't tried 'yet'). There are some 3D printed parts that improve the feel of the gear changes and you can also swap out the stick head for something more realistic. I'd check youtube for some tutorials if interested.I may find myself upgrading to the solid metal Thrustmaster shifter one day, but I'm definitely happy with this to pass the time.

I understand that many people are very outraged by logitech's decision to exclude PS4 from the comparability list of the G27, which had caused the bad reviews of this product. Don't listen to them! I got this as an upgrade to a Logitech DFGT, and I have to say, this is a great product. I love the blue and black theme inspired by logitech's recent gaming color scheme, and the leather (if it is) makes driving very comfortable. The wheel itself has many buttons on it (with a PS4 theme) so I can see why they didn't include the shifter. The G27 needed the shifter bundled with it because the wheel didn't have a D-Pad and very few buttons. So if you want the shifter, it is completely up to you,and I can assure you that some people simply don't need it, and since the wheel is only £179.99, the addition of a shifter at £50 doesn't bring it to a bad price at around £229.99 (a new G27 which comes bundled with the shifter is around £180). I think that the price difference is entirely worth it, since you are getting a new and updated version of the G27 wheel, as well as a rubber stop behind the brake pedal, to add to the feel of realism. I am sure that, since this is a Logitech product, it will last a very long time. I guess we will just have to wait and see!If you are looking for a new wheel, or an upgrade to a previous Logitech wheel, go for it. You will be happy with your purchase.

There's not really another gearstick you can buy for this price other than this one, but you still get your money's worth (assuming you already own a G920/G29).It's almost entirely plastic but it doesn't feel cheap. The faux leather around the base of the gearstick is also a nice touch.Shifting through gears feel nice and deliberate, but can easily be improved with a small 3D printed plastic piece that goes below the covering to increase the force required to shift into gears. The shifter can also be converted into a sequential shifter with some 3D printed parts and springs. There's loads of other different mods you can apply and I highly recommend that you look into them. It's a shame that this doesn't work out of the box by default standalone and requires you to already own a G920/G29.You can buy adapters off of Ebay for a questionable amount of money, or DIY your own if you have some time.Overall, I'd recommend this if you're looking for a cheap shifter for your G920. I wouldn't recommend buying this if you're planning on using it with another wheel and aftermarket adapter as I heard that they can be quite problematic.

This is not the most robust shifter you will ever come across and if you are expecting it to closely resemble a real car shifter (gear lever) you'll be disappointed. This is quite well made of plastic construction and can be easily clamped with the clamp provided to a desk. I have mine actually bolted to a wheel stand but pretty sure the clamp would be adequate. It might look a little toy like and not exactly use how much real punishment this shifter could take but so far no issues. The software that this comes with can be little slow at times but with a recent Logitech upgrade to this they seem to have solved the major problems for most games I use it in.For the money this might seem a little pricey but inspite of it's size (a bit small)it seems to do all you could ask from it only time will tell whether it is robust as need to be. Please be aware this is NOT a mechanical shifter so the feel is not that of conventional car as all changes are created by electrical means not gear shift movement in a geared device.

Let's start with the features. The gears are easy to place and are relatively a short distance away from each other which is nice. There is not a lot of resistance bringing the shifter into the neutral position which means easy shifting, this not the best simulation. I have noticed that using it sometimes the silver plastic indicator at the top sometimes flies off but if you're gentle with it then that will not happen. One problem I had was trying to remove the leather. I unscrewed all the screws around it then lifted it only to find out what was going on inside but then I attempted to remove the leather around it but the gear knob was blocking It. I didn't want attempt to remove that incase of th chance I may break it.And if you're not familiar with how gears work in some cars then you might have an issue putting it into reverse.Overall great shifter and your only option if you buy the g920 but.

I bought this at £30 for the Black Friday week sale, so just adjust the critique in my review according to whatever price you see it listed at.The mechanism isn't super smooth, it can get stuck in some gears and just fall out of others, the artificial leather seems really cheap, it's probably its biggest flaw from the outside as it's immediately apparent. But it's something you'll probably get used to after a while, just be sure not to get sweat, oil or any other fluids get on it as it will most likely deteriorate fast.In summary, most people will probably just use the paddles to shift if they use manual, but for the people looking for a stick shift on a budget, considering the upgrades over this are significantly more costly, this is pretty much your best option. Hope this helps

Great item that is well made, my only complaint would be the lack of extra buttons but this is due to the limitations of the Xbox rather than Logitech.Doesn't quite have the feel of the 'real thing' but makes a huge difference to the realism of playing games like Forza etcWhether you already own or are considering buying the G920 then this add-on is a must.I have owned and still have every release of the Logitech G wheel range and this version has a nicer gear change feeling that some of the previous versions (though this could be down to the high usage the others have been put through)(Note if you are looking for a wheel for PC use only in my opinion the G27 is a better choice due to the extrabuttons and button layout)

I bought the gear stick as I wanted the full wheel experience in the games I play. However I haven't used it all too much, so take this review with a pinch of salt. I also have not used any other gear sticks.First things first, the quality of the product is fantastic, it feels well built and nice to use....Most of the time. Like I said I haven't used other gear sticks, so this could be the same with them all. The only problem is when changing gears there is a slight grinding noise again, similar to the wheel. But this is only minor.I gave it 4 stars and not 5 due to the lack of use I have got out of it. In racing games I use the paddles on the actual wheel instead of this hear stick.

Works super, I made a custom mount bracket for this for my playseat challenge chair and it sits really nice down on the arm of the chair.I've many hours on this with Forza 7 and it's my go to. Simply plugs into your wheel and away you go, the game knows 1-6 which gear you are in and a reverse. If you are racing a car with 7/8 forward gears you will need to use your paddle shifters to go past 6th gear, but if you are going for the real experience then these cars with 7 & 8 forward gears don't have a manual shifter and just paddles / full auto. Plus the amount of time you would need anything more than 6th would be rare.I love this and cannot imagine my wheel without it.

--- UsageI have a Logitech G29 steering wheel and my wife bought this for me as a surprise. This is used to play Euro Truce simulator so as an H shifter for a truck (I'm sure it works well for regular racing games since it's standard).--- Feel and mountIt's easy to set up on your playing area and connect it to the wheel. It's safe and sturdy in place even when you want to shift violently and the feel is quite good when you use it.-- DownsidesNothing I can think of.-- VerdictIf you don't have one and you play racing games with a wheel get this one, especially if it's on sale but it's worth the full retail price (which I paid).

The default compatible G29 shifter.Spent time debating between the thrustmaster metal shifter and this but the price difference makes it compelling- Decent amount of travel between gears- The plastic build is very strong- The quality of the materials feels decent, not quite real gearknob levels but good enough to feel immersed- Handles quick shifts quite well, doesnt feel like it's gonna breakThere are a few downsides though- Very little to no resistance when changing gears- Clamps are not the grippiest, you have to make it very tight to the surface to stop any kind of slip under racing environment

I knew the limitations of this shifter before I bought it so I’m not disappointed. However, I can’t rate 5 stars simply because of said limitations. There are only 6 forward gears, which is a little annoying since several cars in my game of choice (Forza) have more than 6 gears. On my old G25 shifter there was the ability to change it to sequential, meaning this problem was eradicated.Beyond that this is a great bit of kit that really does transform your gaming experience. Highly recommended, but with that one minor bugbear holding it back from brilliance.

Pretty good shifting. R is a bit hard to engage, if you haven't pressed the knob down enough. The shaft is made of steel. The knob is made of some kind of leather. The price is lower than the other brands' ones. However I am not sure that it will last long as it has a slight wobble when you rest the weight of your hand on it and it since the racing games require fast and exact shifting it may not live long enough. Another con is that the top of the knob is made of plastic and you don't have the premium feel of stainless steel.

Bought this with the wheel and pedals, and not used as a gearstick yet as used the paddle controls on steering wheel or auto gearing on the games. However, last weekend for the first time we configured the gearshifter to Be the handbrake when we put it into aCertain gear which made handbrake turns so much easier and better than trying to push the circle button and turning the wheelFor this alone it’s now invaluable! As we’ve only used it a few times I’ve only given 4 for durability etc as it’s not been fully tested yet

25.12.2020

I will start with the negative, the shift base is made of a plastic and doesn't feel strong but when attached to something like the Next Level wheel and pedal stand with the bolts, it's far from unstable, it feels great and so easy to shift through the gears. I've always wanted to drive but can't due to disablities but I have my dream setup I finally get a taste, even if it is simulated. I am so happy I bought this and at the time I got it at £30 which makes it the perfect Christmas present to myself.
