It does what it says on the tin. 5 old games in one package. If you are new to King of Fighters(KoF) don't bother. The graphics will turn you off, the controls were much stricter back then, and SNK Boss syndrome was at its height (where the boss is ridiculously difficult - you can get to the final fight without losing a round but still never beat the boss!). You may appreciate it as a classic fighter collection, but I don't think you will enjoy it. Get XI(PS2), wait for XIII, or at a push get XII (still KoF, but not the best example of it).For experienced KoF players, you probably already own these games for the NeoGeo, so unless you have backwards compatibility on a PS3 and want all your KoF on 1 console,it's not worth it. They are arcade (NeoGeo) perfect, but nothing is added other than a game select screen that gives you some artwork to unlock. For intermediates like me, go ahead. You want to complete your collection - here are 5 of them for a very low price. They are tough, control and boss wise, but for the price it's nearly impossible to say no to this much KoF. Since the UK will likely never get '94 Re-bout and '98 Ultimate Match, this is the only place to play 2 of the most important games in the series. Find out why people love/hate Rugal so much, fill in the blanks on the Orochi (important for the background to the "Tales of Ash" saga we are currently on) and play the 1st (94) and possibly the best (98) games in the series. These are solid games, just old. No, sorry; they were excellent, groundbreaking games for their time. But if you are new to the series, try a newer game first, and if you already own them on NeoGeo, there is nothing new here. But if neither of these apply, you really HAVE to get this collection!

The first five games in the King of Fighters series. If you owned these games years ago then maybe it'll be a nice nostalgia trip. If you are a fan of the more recent games it could prove an interesting bout of one-on-one fighting action. But if you're new to the series then to be honest you'd be better off with one of the more recent games. The best of the series on the PS2 I think are XI, 2002 and 2003. New features in the Orochi collection include challenges to unlock promotional artwork (although you might have already seen it online). The biggest problem I have with this release is the lack of a 2-player mode and the fact that these games are, backgrounds apart, more or less clones of one another. The only characters of note who don't appear in more recent, more developed games in this series are a 'sports' team including Heavy D (the scariest-looking boxer since Streets of Rage 2's R.Bear), Lucky Glauber (formidable-looking basketball player) and Brian Battler (US footballer). If you're a diehard KOF fan or a completist, or can cope with slow loading times and stodgy controls, don't intend to play these games with your friends and can put up with sudden difficulty spikes in gameplay then this is for you. For me it was more a curio than anything else.

This game is interesting, but I can only use it, to listen the musics and to play in the training mode. 94-95 have special moves very difficullt to manage. For those who desire to turn more simply the game experience to challange easy fighters, you can't do it, because the level of difficulty is ever the same and ever the max in 94-95. Arrive to Rugal is impossible. And in 96-98, commands like venom strike, power wave or phoenix arrow never work at the first time. this kind of moves are very worst calibrate, and the difficulty is once more very high, so I never end any of those 5 games. Is only fun to listen the musics and to play certain moves in the training mode, because others are impossible, even if in theory are very easy. I regret to say so, but if I knew that the game will arrive in such conditions I probably don't purchase it. The KOF 11 is for me the best KOF I play. I only play 94-98, kof maximum impact 2, kof 11 and kof 12. The KOF 11 is extremly good, I advise every person to buy it if you like this type of games
