With the modern day fixation on laptops, pdas and wireless communications the BA II plus is a refreshingly straightforward yet powerful tool for anyone who wants to impress a client with their understanding of how money works.As a mortgage broker I have access to a wide variety of research tools to find the best lender for a client. However, most of these are laptop and internet reliant and therefore not much use when you are accosted by someone in a casual or social situation with the question 'How much will a mortgage for £XXX cost me?' The BA II plus is a true "pocket" calculator you can have with you at all times,

If you're looking for an inexpensive financial calculator for (e.g.) University/CFA or a not too quantitative job, then this one does the job fine. It's not as flash as the HP 12C, but personally I only need the TVM and Bond calculations, both of which it does. The manual is clear with good examples, and it only took me about 10 mins to get all I needed. Once you work out how to enter dates (12.0803 for 12th August 2003 in European format) and how/when to use the compute button, you're away. It's also ridiculously light, probably weighing as much as about 3 bic's, although it is still normal calculator size. The case is pretty funky for a calculator as well(!)All in all, does what you would expect,

I bought this calculator to use with my financial services exams, to work out compound interest calculations mainly which it is perfect for. I agree with another reviewer that you do need to know how these calculations work manually before expecting the calculator to do it for you, as nothing comes with the calculator to explain how to do this. That said, I googled this calculator and very quickly found a comprehensive manual which was free to download which explains in depth how each of the calculations it can do works. All in all excellent value for money compared with many more expensive ones, which do little more if any than this one does.

These have been around for a long time. I had one of these , must have been twenty years ago, and it did everything I ever wanted it to do with financials. So a new one must be just as good. They were a classic then and I see no reason why this one doesn't carry on the reputation. I just wish I could find my original one; maybe it's time for one of these new ones?

Never thought I will need courses to learn how to use a calculator. Set some extra time aside and you will be fine with this lil' beast. Definitely some functions that save your day and some complicated ones that ruin your day even when you know all the formulas. Don't wait until the last moment to learn how to use it, it will be too late.

Yeah its a good calc etc etc but if your a Student you wont be able to use it in exams as such devices are forbidden. you can only use normal calculators with no programming abilities.For a person who has done their studies and is working in accountancy, this would be great.. but for students.. stick with a normal calculator for now.

I received the product but it was unfortunately delayed by a day. Secondly, I tried to make the payment through my foreign Visa card first but it could not be processed despite giving the correct information.Thank you for you service! I like the product and exactly what I wanted ! :)

I use this for my Masters in Finance and its a beauty.Was bought and recommended by University of Reading anddoes everything I need for Bond calculations and NPV IRR calculations.Took a little while to get used to after using a scientifci calculator but now we get on just fine.

Been using this product for a few years now and I am quite pleased with it. While it is a lot faster to do everything on a PC, I am sure that people working in offices appreciate the opportunity to take your eyes off a monitor for a few minutes. Using this daily for some time now.

Best choice for the CFA - not necessarily because of the quality which is ok (some of the reviews talk about the buttons not being as responsive as one would hope) but because most of the CFA and Schweser material use this calculator as the stock one in their examples

Great calculator in terms of functions, but as others have mentioned, it's a shame the 'feel' of the buttons isn't quite up-to-par--you definitely need to be concentrating if you type fast otherwise you can quite easily make a mistake...

Good product, the features are good and it meets the need it is intended for. however it could have done with being a bit more solid. the plastic feels a little too lightweight. which means it takes a bit of getting used to gripping it

It internal program enabled the easy and quick calculation for asset pricing. But the flexibility of display is not as good as my old scientific calculation. It's display of numerator and denominator was confusing.

it works. Was happy and surprised when received it as it said it will take like 2 weeks or smth like that.. and i got it in, after about 3-4 days :) the calculator though am still trying to figure it out :))

Calculator arrived new with excellent packaging. The new style means the cover is a little tricky, but fine once used to it. Perfect and approved calculator for the CFA examinations.
