Hi, I will recomend THE LITTLE PROFESOR to be the best to teach with pleassure a strong foundation for maths with mental arithmatics. I had been persiviouring with TEXAS INSTRUMENT LTD for the reproduction of this third modal of the GREAT LITTLE PROFESSOR for the past three or four years. Thankfull to TI that they have reproduced at last. I bought our first little professor about 30 years ago to teach my daughter who is a doctor at 31 now . I had bought several for my friends children in the past and now I have bought one now after the reproduction for my newly expected first grand child and first child of my daughter. I bought my first one and the new one now from amazon.co.uk because it is cheapper than any where else.Jason

I used to stock these when I was head of mathematics in a grammar school (yes, grammar, that is not a typo). My two children used these when they were young. Alas, my own personal one went to a collector with the rest of my calculator collection after I retired. I now have a little grandson and have acquired a new one. It works just as the first one did - absolutely wonderful for basic number work and very entertaining too (even when you know your tables well). Possibly better than th eoriginals because of the solar power. What a pity we can only award 5 stars. It deserves more.

well I first used this for my own two daughters 30 years ago. recently found it again was available and bought for grand children who were struggling a bit with mental maths. trendy learning today pretty useless just go to shops a see assistant's who cant give you change without till telling them. it worked incredibly well for my children and my daughter informs me it is still highly successful with her children today. its helping with maths and the children actually enjoy it too. the original was battery only but this` is better having solar.

Get this gadget, instead of sticking a tablet or mobile in your childs hands. Which I never do... I was given the original as a gift bout 35 years ago. Living the memories through my children now. Sure isn't that what life is all about. Get that phone out of your hand and hold your childs hands. They grow up so quick and you will have much to be sorry for as they get older. Sit with them, help them, listen!! To them. That is where you will find life's joy and fulfillment. And trust in Christ. ?

this is great for getting that bit extra mental maths into a full day. Varying levels of difficulty means it will last sometime. Daughter likes it (6 yrs old) as she is in control and we just see the happy professor star rating at the end of each set to make sure she has done them correctly. Brilliant as she is recognising patterns and is getting quite fast. We agree that she does so many additions or subtractions or division/multiplications (each is done in sets of 5 questions).

bought for my little boy age 8.Great present for learning math. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division at 5 different levels, just like it was when I had one many moons ago!The only thing is that its solar powered which obviously means can only been used in light, strong daylight!Would be better if had batteries as back up.Great little present though, My son will be a genious!!

We bought this for our 5 year old granddaughter having searched high and low for our 30 year old one. The solar is irritating in the winter. We have to keep moving under strong lights and it really doesn't feel as nice to use. However she loves it and will practice her add ups and take aways for ages. I'm sure it will prove just as useful as our last one, just don't like it as much

35 years ago I had a Little Professor for my children and I have bought this one for my grandchildren. It is solar powered and I would have preferred battery power so that it had an LED screen which would be brighter.Nevertheless it work well and I hope my four grandchildren, still under 5, will get pleasure and education from it.

Our daughter had one 30 years ago and loved it. We bought this for our 6 years old grandson and he's loving it too since it makes something of a game about learning simple arithmetical processes.Solar power (and indeed any electric light source too) is brilliant, no batteries to run out. And it has a nice sliding cover.

We bought this for our Grandson, who loves it! My daughter had one when she was young, and it really encouraged her to improve her mathematical ability - she ended up doing A level maths and an engineering degree! I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were still available. Great for mental arithmetic.

Just as I remembered it when we had one for our children 20 years ago, brought to help an adult get back up to speed with basics before an up coming spped test. Warning, it does become addictive to achieve 5 in a row to get the moustache flickering. Not just for children great to work through the levels.

I purchased this for my 8 year old daughter to help her with her times tables. I thought the games feature would inspire her to learn. I also remember this from my childhood in the mid 80’s. It brought back wonderful memories. I’m hoping this will be as much of a hit with my daughter as it was with me.

Good calculator learning tool for kids i had one when i was little so bought one for my son, You have to be in very bright light to use though as the solar panel doesnt hold any charge so only usable in bright light or with a torch on your head lol, other than the poor solar panel its a good calculator

I think Texas could change the design of the product so it can1. be turned off (I realise it solar powered but still it would be nice)2. Create a flip lid. so you can't lose the cover3. Make a new function allowing a particular times table to be testedI still think this product is great
