The choice of calculators everywhere seem overwhelming but when you really don't need anything too complicated this is a great buy. It has two non-slip feet on the bottom which stops it moving whilst using it and it has a large clear display (8x2.4cm approx) with the figures shown in black against a pale green/grey screen. The screen slopes upwards towards you which makes it even easier to see when it is flat on a desk. The calculator works on both solar power and a 1.5v battery (LR54), the battery is included. I have not had to change the battery yet. I think it works on solar power most of the time I am using it. I very rarely remember to turn it off and luckily it has an automatic power-off function. The keys are really quite large and very easy to use, because of the size it is not easy to hit the wrong key by accident which I have managed many times with smaller keys on the scientific type calculators or the little tiny ones designed to be carried around. The keys also seem to stay amazingly clean, they are very smooth to the touch and just do not seem to attract the dirt from your fingers like computer keys do!The calculator performs the major basic functions: addition (extra big key), subtraction, multiplication and division. It also has a percentage key, a square root key and positive and negative number key. It also incorporates a 4-key memory function which I don't think I have ever used. This seems to be a very robust calculator. It has been knocked on the floor or buried under piles of paper and still reappears working perfectly. Due to its size (10x15cm) it tends not to get lost and sits on my desk whenever it is needed. It feels solid but is not particularly heavy. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a handy desk-top calculator.

This is a sexy calculator. Casio has managed to combine Steven Hawkings with Ferrari in product that will sit on your desk and make you instantly more appealing to the opposite sex whilst giving an air of intelligence. The buttons are a pleasure to push whether you are calculating on your own in a corner or loudly tapping the buttons with the end of your pen to ensure your colleagues know that you are calculating like a 'Boss' and runnin' the numbers on important shizzle yo!More importantly the price, wow... just wow... all this for that price... seriously.. wow...If it really came down to a purchase and I was looking at calculators... I would seriously just think..WWJD. I did ask John and he said,"Buy the calculator and get back to work I don't pay you to sit on amazon all day purchasing office supplies and writing stupid (he meant meaningful) reviews on office supplies." John your input is appreciated.Overall great product, 10/10 price and quality with a speedy delivery.

I've owned this for a number of years (at least 6 or 7) and to date I have never had a problem with it despite some heavy use over the years. It's dual powered with a solar panel at the top and a battery (LR54) which can be replaced if required. I have never had to change the battery despite having used it in dim light many times.Keypad is large with a central circle on the 5 digit (to aid feel without looking at the numerica pad) Nothing fancy here normal calculations with MR/M-/M+ buttons % and square root. The calculator powers off when not in use so there is no "off button"Quality is good with solid plastics, you get 2 rubber feet to stop movement on a desk. Larger clear LCD display is easy to read in most light. There is no backlight though so not really suitable for night use.Over many years use the calculator is still working great, with little to no signs of use.A simple but well made an effective destop calculator

Calculators aren't exactly hard to come by, but decent quality ones are. So rather than opting for another supermarket-own variety, I looked for a decent make. Can you really go wrong with Casio? This is a fantastic product that is not only well made, but looks really cool too (The beige tones are straight out of 1986)One of the most important aspects is how well it functions, and my expectations were beaten. I absolutely love the feel of the buttons on this product. They are chunky, have a nice long travel with smooth movement, and are precise all the way to the edges. I'm also impressed with the size of the calculator - it is much larger than the images suggest. Also,I appreciate the back-up battery for when light energy is low, as well as the Off button.

This has got to be the best calculator ever. Had one of these for years, but recently I thought it had become trashed, owing to an accident. I had to actually put it under tap and wash it. You could actually hear the water sloshing around inside. Left it to drip and immediately odered a new one.Over the course of the next few days, I kept trying the old one, just to see, and miracle of miracles after about a week it appeared to be working quite normally - by which time the new one had arrived. This goes to prove that this little calculator is virtually INDESTRUCTABLE - I was totally amazed! Will keep new one as a spare or give to someone in need. Excellent product for the price.

I have tested this product over and over and it gets it right every time, it's amazing. It must haveso e kind of super brain, or maybe it is an super intelligent alien morphed into this form so it can see what we do when we think nobody is looking, or what simple sums we will use it for instead of our brains...I have come to trust my handy calculator now having given it a thorough testing, it really does seem to know the answer to everything.I wonder if I can have it implanted into my brain, that would be very useful. Mind you if it is an alien firm then it might take over my brain, would that make me an alien then too?!?!?So much to think about.

This is a good medium sized calculator. Don't be fooled by the near white background in the adverts. Light grey would best describe it. This however is not to imply that it is difficult to read the numbers, far from it. I notice thatsome reviewers , have had problems using the percentage key. I think , maybe they have not followed the instructions.Simply press the main figure, followed by X then the percentage required then %. the correct answer appears. Do not press = as with some machines. This calculator lives up to the Casio reputation, and I think prospective buyers will be well pleased with their purchase.

The Casio MX-8B calculator arrived in blister type retail packaging with instructions printed clearly on the rear. The device is made from good quality materials and operates by battery (included) or solar with an auto off feature. The large buttons are well spaced and have a smooth operating action and the 8 digit LED display is large and easy to read. The Casio MX-8B is available in black or white and available in many high street stores/supermarkets and online stores but Amazon are currently selling the device for £3.00-4.50 cheaper.Purchased direct from Amazon with fast free shipping. Highly recommended.

With clearly marked keys which are well spaced and offer positive, tactile feedback, this calculator features a large clear display and is sensibly priced. This is a small desktop unit (not a pocket calculator) which is easy to use and offers all the standard features most users will need, so unless you have some specialist needs, this should do the job.Its not the very cheapest calculator available, but is really good value and I would certainly recommend it (we purchased 3 of these units for our new staff, as all existing staff use the previous model some of which have been in daily use for several years)

I learned to count when I was at school. I have never used a calculator for all those daily sums, subtractions, multiplications and divisions that I do as a matter of course in the workplace. Anything complex I use an Excel spreadsheet.A calculator is almost a thing of the past, but this one is an excellent, inexpensive, user-friendly calculator. Sits firmly on the desk, firm, responsive buttons, and a clear readable screen.I bought it to carry in my briefcase for those complicated calculations I sometimes have to do when separated from modern technology and I am delighted with the purchase.

Needed something for desk that could assist with basic accounting. I find adding numbers together to be quite a depressing chore, so my laziness compelled me to buy this, and it's made my life a lot simpler. It's pretty difficult to accidentally knock another button (like you would if you used your phone) as the buttons are thick and quite spaced apart, the display is large and clear, and there's an off button. It does all the simple calculations. And it looks nice on my desk too. (And prevents me from getting too distracted since I have no excuse to use my phone now ;) ) Good purchase.

This calculator is really handy if you need to do basic calculations on a regular basis. My work involves updating spreadsheets containing metrics, performance data and other statistical information. I use this handy calculator all the time to check data. The slightly oversized 8 digit display is really easy to read. I like that the display is slightly angled upwards. The buttons are nicely sized - it's easy to quickly move around the keys to do fast calculations. The calculator is well made. This is excellent value for money from a leading manufacturer.Highly recommended.

I would always plump for Casio when buying calculator, as I have used a few in my time.I bought this as I am currently studying accounts, and I need a reliable device with big buttons I can use quickly in exam conditions. I don't need any fancy functions.I was impressed! It is exactly what I was looking for. The buttons are tactile and can be used at speed. The two way power is a must for me and as usual the device is well made.Yes there are cheaper calculators out there, however at a fiver you get everything you need, and none of the issues with lesser quality ones.

I found this to be a basic and reliable calculator that wasn't over fussy with functions I would never use. I like the fact that it runs on both solar and battery power, no having to position it near to a light to work. The keys are responsive, no having to press firmly down on them to register and if you have quick hands/fingers it keeps up with you. The display is large and the main + or addition key is triple the size of the rest.In all great value for money and if you do not need more than the basic functions why that this calculator has to offer then why pay more.
