2020 UpdateNow eclipsed by the fx9860GIII, which has twice the internal memory, is Python programmable, and connects directly to a computer without the need for special software. This one though is better for the majority of students on account of its superior build quality. The newer version is flimsy by comparison, and already the French equivalent (Graph 35+EII Python - available for only £68 from Amazon.fr) is occasionally being offered for sale as 'for spares or repair' due to stuck/dead keys etc. That said, the fx9860GII is likely to be discontinued, so the price needs to be £50 maximum to reflect this, hence 4 stars instead of 5. It's still a fantastic calculator, however, and thoroughly recommend.Note that in France, the fx9860GII is rebadged Graph 75, and the SD version of the fx9860GII Power Graphic, is called the Graph 95. These models are often much cheaper to buy secondhand. As, however, most fx9860GII calculators in the UK are the Power Graphic-2 versions, with the later processor, the fx9860GII SD, is often better than the Graph 95 in some respects, but usually not worth paying the extra (sometimes as much as £90!).The Graph 95 doesn't offer Exam Mode for I.B. students, and it can't take SD cards greater than 2GB. In not offering Exam Mode, students sitting the I.B. will have to delete or transfer stored data and additional apps added, to a p.c. before taking the exam. 2GB doesn't sound much, but in this context, it's massive. The non-SD model only has 1.5MB internal memory available for additional apps and programmes, and even that's usually sufficient. 2GB is roughly 1365 times greater memory! The older processor of the Graph 95 does have one advantage: it's able to run the c.a.s. app, Symbolix, which offers two advantages over the other c.a.s. apps available (Algebra and CAS). It gives both quotient and remainder in polynomial division (Algebra only gives the quotient) and can simply an equation in two variables, through substitution for one of these, by use of a second equation.Original ReviewFirstly, you need to appreciate that many will buy this calculator, in order to use in a maths exam such as A-Level. In situations such as this, c.a.s. calculators are banned and of the calculators allowed, this represents the cream of what's available. It is so easy to use that within next to no time, you'll be able to utilise it to the full, in an exam situation. This is not the case with other makes and models. Take the T.I. N-Spire CAS: vastly superior in terms of capability, but some of the functions are not obvious to use. Without a manual, you could be hours trying to figure out how to do what! In an exam, you don't have time to throw away, so you could end up missing the grade. As an a-level student, it could affect your entire future career, if you don't get to uni as a result. I'm not being melodramatic (ask any teacher) but you can miss the overall grade by one mark!Secondly, the build quality is superb; it feels like the equivalent of Rolex in the world of old fashioned watches! Like Rolex, Casio calculators do tend to be exceedingly reliable; some are still going after 40 years!Thirdly, you get a large, backlit screen with excellent contrast. Put next to a T.I. N-Spire CAS (not the CX CAS) and you'll see what I mean! The display of the latter is almost unreadable in comparison!Fourthly, the range of features built in is superb. The standard o.s. includes document and spreadsheet facilities. The graphical capabilities are very impressive but more to the point, quick to use. You'll find intersection points, and areas between curves in seconds; also maxima and minima. The range of statistical features built in is also impressive: all the main distributions, confidence intervals, significance tests, Chi Squared GOF, contingency tables, ANOVA, regression, correlation, scatter plots, box & whisker are present and (once again!) dead easy to use.The 'Solve N' command is also worth mentioning: it allows you to solve many equations, including quadratic trig equations, as presented, without having to rearrange. In an applied maths paper, like mechanics, this really is a godsend to anyone fighting the clock, and gives you the best opportunity to maximize your marks! In my opinion, it should be banned because it gives students a big advantage over those not using a calculator equipped with it, and reduces the level of skill needed to arrive at the answer. Furthermore, State schools fail to make students aware of it, but I've heard of one public school that does! It's also very easy to programme; the language being similar to BASIC. With the full range of command statements you'd expect (loops, GOTO, IF statements and subroutines for almost every feature) plus all the mathematical symbols and alphanumeric character you could possibly want, you can write your own software to cover almost anything you require that's not built in. The limitation will probably be your programming skills and mathematical knowledge - not the calculator's!Fifthly, the calculator is well supported by third party software and this includes c.a.s. apps which integrate into the main menu and provide a host of additional features, like giving the full derivative of a function in terms of x (not just a specific value) indefinite integration (though with limited capabilities) expansion of algebraic expressions (including recognition of complex numbers), factorization, simplification and polynomial division. These apps, though far from perfect, are well worth having and are available as free downloads. They provide a 'half way house' solution to those wanting a proper c.a.s. calculator like the T.I. N-Spire CAS. Simple games are also available, and you have the capability to construct your own apps and then integrate them into the main menu.Sixthly, worthy of comment, is battery life: absolutely incredible! You could spend hours programming and hardly notice the difference; not so with a TI N-Spire unfortunately!Another salient feature for some is the ability to share apps and programmes with other owners, via FA124. This piece of software works on a 'drag and drop' principle (calculator left-side, storage area on PC, right-side). You just drag the app or programme outside the box and it turns into a file, ready to be emailed anywhere round the world. If want someone to have everything on their calculator, you have on yours, you just email the CASIO folder FA124 creates under Documents. This folder contains two files: one for your apps, the other for programmes (in total, usually less than 5MB). When they install FA124 on their machine, all they need do is replace their yellow, CASIO folder, with yours and then transfer apps and programmes to calculator, via USB lead.Is there anything negative to say?Well, firstly the default setting, in graph mode, for plotting curves defined parametrically, really should include both negative and positive values of t. Change the setting and you're fine; don't and you'll probably end up loosing a branch of your curve (not good for scoring marks in an exam!).Secondly, graphs of parametric curves often look distorted, e.g. circles will resemble an ellipses. This can be corrected by rescaling the x- or y-axis but once again, why should you have to do this? Come on Casio, get your act together! Let me alay any fears: examiners are very tolerant with freehand sketches. If the important features are there, with no serious flaws over curve shape, then you'll get full marks! Let me also say that certain other calculators I've tried are no better!Third point is over Chi-Squared tests with Yates' correction. Whilst this calculator offers a pooled estimate of the population variance, when doing a 2-sample, t-test, it doesn't offer Yates' correction on a 2x2 contingency table. I find this absurd considering the relevance of it to those taking the statistics options in A-Level Further Maths, where this is often required. Okay, not the end of the world, but for a calculator aimed at the 16+ cohort, of A-Level Maths or I.B. students, it should be included.Let me close by saying that despite its age, this is still a truly fantastic calculator, and on balance, about the best value for money of what's available, to any college student studying studying maths beyond GCSE.Anyone buying one of these, usually does so because they need it for an exam, where c.a.s. calculators are banned. Under these circumstances, where quality of construction and robustness is also important, there really is no better calculator currently available. In an applied paper, the 'SolveN' command could add at least an extra grade to the majority of students. No need to rearrange the equation of trajectory in mechanics, just enter everything as presented. 'SolveN' will even solve a trig equation to give the angles of projection (sometimes as exact answers as multiples of pi). In statistic, you can even use it to solve an equation based on the Normal distribution. Finally, worth pointing out is that the very latest versions of this model feature an exam mode which is I.B. compliant. This means you don't have to remove all the apps and programmes installed when you sit the exam.So taking everything into account, this calculator is definitely worthy of 5-stars, at £50 or less. It's still thoroughly recommend for use at A-Level or IB use and definitely the best compromise in this situation. Elsewhere, you could spend a lot more money for something far less robust and offering very little advantage.

Yes this calculator is a bit overkill for GCSE, but for the higher teir paper, the period table on it is really handy for science. It can solve equations and do graphs for them. It can also do box plots and all kind of graphs which really helps for statistics. It can also do complex numbers which is good for advanced maths.Fully recommend, so many little things about it make it brilliant. It's can do all of these brilliantly- a-z letters with space key- solve simultaneous equations- complex numbers- 3d graphs (with addin)- period table (with addin)- balance chemistry symbol equations (with addin)- solve equations with up to 6 unknowns- save text- expand triple brackets (with addin)- draw shapes-do calculations involving stigma- loads of advanced functions to many to list ect- financial functions (eg compound interest)- copy and paste (so you can save big equations and paste them in)There is also a light feature so you can see the display.Brilliant for GCSE maths and for people witha great passion for mathematics. Some of the addins are difficult to find and difficult to install but with a bit of computer knowledge the process becomes easy.It is expensive but WELL worth it.Brilliant product.

I love this calculator. Being currently in Year 12, going into Year 13, it has really helped me in A Level maths and (even more so) in A Level further maths. The batteries last almost forever; I have had it 6 months and it is still full according to the display. The back-light is a nice touch for when you are working in the dark, like I do quite a lot. It is also nice to have the ability to download applications to use on the calculator using the USB cable you get with it. It does take quite a bit of getting used to, but, having expected at the start to still go back to my old "normal" calculator for a lot of things as it would be easier, I now find myself seldom using it, as this is faster, and storing previous calculations on the screen by scrolling up makes life sooooo much easier. Obviously, for a calculator, it is rather expensive, but if you think that you have a genuine reason for wanting/needing one, and you are contemplating over which to get, I very highly recommend this one.

I purchased these batteries as a replacement for my Fenix E15 keyring torch. They arrived well packed and promptly. They'd morphed from Energizer to Mallory Duracell but that didn't matter in the slightest. Unlike conventional alkaline batteries Lithium batteries have far tighter tolerances. Therefore there is absolutly NOTHING to worry about if what happened to me is the case. They arrived in perfect condition, popped one into my torch and away! Utterly perfect. And the cost?Less than £3 for two.And Boots in Leicester wanted £7.13 FOR ONE! is it any surprise that the High St is in trouble? On this basis, Amazon have removed a massive barrier to my purchasing a CR123A powered torch. At less than £1.50 each I'm actually cheaper than using Duracell Ultra M3 AA's x 4. I'be be coming back when I need to beacause at that price CR123A's are an absolute steal. 100% recommended!

This is an Excellent Calculator and it is far more powerful than the standard Scientific Calculator. Compared to the Casio Graphics Calculator FX-9750GII, this calculator is worth the few extra pounds as it has more features than it which is useful for Maths as it has a natural textbook display (e.g. Fractions instead of Decimal equivalent when exact answers are required).I study A-Level maths and I have completed AS with a standard Scientific Casio Calculator and since this upgrade when I started my A2, I could not imagine myself going back to the old calculator even if this calculator required more button presses for some of the simple functions which I am used to using. You can also write you own programs or download them from the CD/internet to enhance the usability.

Item was in different colour packaging, orange and black, and not labeled photo, and sent in separate packaging, but they are the same type and use and I have 2 batteries that cost considerably less than in the shops ready for my 35mm camera. The service was exceptionally quick, almost in the blink of an eye, ordered on 12th, this morning through my door, here they are on the 14th. Packaging was very professional as was the receipt in the padded envelope. I either get the blue and white packaging or these, whatever is available, considering the speed and service, I will definately look at this seller before purchasing in supermarket or brand chain store where most people purchase them from.I buy inks on the internet, why not batteries. Thankyou, very impressed.

I found my old Canon EOS 300 and thought I'd give it a test run, I had a roll of film expiry day 1999 (hmmm) but the batteries were dead in it. I found these and placed an order. They can in a couple of days in time for the weekend. I whacked them in the said camera and off I went, happy as Larry, whoever he is. Apparently the life of these batteries in the canon is not great but so far I am on my second roll of film and they are still going strong. To be honest at this price if they only lasted one roll on 100% flash, it would not be a financial disaster, but they are still going strong so thats a bonus. If you need this type of battery,be assured they will be fine.Backed by Amazon what more could you want.

Excellent! :DJust as described and works perfectly :)A lot of u are unsure about the sizes so here's a quick explanation I made.U have like cr-internaltional standard, dl for duracell and energizer and so on.The first 2 digits 20, refers to diameter in milimeters, so 20mm.The second one height in 1/10mm, 16=1.6mm.Depending on the mechanism that holds the battery u might be able to higher height but some locking mechanicsms won't allow this, e.g one with where there is a metal band over the battery to keep it in place. I have such a mechanism in my watch, there is a picture below.Hope that helps^^

I use these batteries in my Golf Rangefinder and the problem is that the product sucks batteries like nothing normal. When I first got it I used to go to a local camera store to buy the batteries and they were £7 each which was a big shock. I searched on Amazon and found a supplier that was selling 2 for 3.50 including postage and that just shows the benefit of buying through Amazon. I would never buy something like batteries through Ebay and this is where Amazon comes into its own with products that are widely available and retailers competing for lowest prices on shipments through 3rd party..

I bought this to use for my A-Levels and I can't say it ever failed on me. Its pretty easy to use once you get taught how to use it and I only had to replace the batteries once after using it for 2 years. Some said its a bit overkill because there a model a level down from this one but I think the back-lit screen and other functions you do get to notice make it worth spending that little but more. Plus when you some people coming in with LCD 4K touchscreen graphical calculators from HP and the like, that can probably stream youtube, you realise it really isn't that much of an overkill.

Bought this as my old Sharp EL9900 was on its way out. Although expecting a change, I was unprepared for what I received.A vastly superior graphics calculator, which is so much more user friendly. My exam days are long gone, but this one is allowed in A'Level exams, although expect it to be banned at University level. If only it had come with the manual, like my Sharp did. I now have two A4 ring binders to hold the 500 page instruction manual. The absence of the manual does not lead to a decrease in stars, as I expect this keeps the cost of the calculator down.

Ordered on the 24th and arrived in the morning on the 26th. Well done. These are for my British Gas electricity monitor and I was slightly worried that they might not be right as they look square-ish in the picture. Can assure you that they are round and I've inserted one into the remote unit (very gingerly - the warnings of fatal electrocution and a large spider in my meter box were very off-putting). But my monitor has now sprung back into life.As mentioned before - this is not a pack of 2 - but 2 single batteries in their own packaging. Not that it matters.

If you are going onto University to do a quantitative subject (with stuff like linear algebra) then a TI-89 Titanium or HP50G would be the best advice, best use is "A" Level but beyond that (stuff like calculating eigenvalues) only available on more advanced spec devices. It is a nice machine, but I wouldn't use it for a Math or Engineering Degree. It has one big advantage over the other two though which is a far better screen that is also backlit, the TI-89T screen is tiny and the HP50G clear (with changeable font size) but not backlit.

These large button batteries fit the remote fob for my Volvo.Imagine this; you’re moving house, your battery box is packed away in done or other storage box on the back of the removals van, and you put your key in the ignition to lead the van to your new address, when the message ‘Battery in remote fob low’ flashes up on the dashboard.Impeccable timing I must say!Thankfully, Amazon stock these, ‘cos my local supermarket don’t.I’m now keeping them in a folder with the vehicle docs, rather than my battery box.
