This item is ideal for the MacBook Air if you are just storing it in the house. It fits in well and has a good clip ( not magnetic, as there are reviews that these can mess up your MacBook Air ) .The inside of the case is soft and protects you MacBook Air and if you get a skin for your machine the MacBook Air will also just glide in with the skin on.I would not get this item if i was taking my MacBook Air out of the home as the protection is limited. The case is soft and not hard. Targus make the twill for many apple MacBooks some of which are hard.... this one is soft, so be aware of that.I'm giving it 5 stars because it does what I want it for.

Really sturdy and good quality case. I bought this on a whim that it would fit a dell m3800 (similar to the XPS 15 version 2) despite the dimensions being a little smaller. It fits like a glove but feels very safe. There is also a button latch- not really needed for this laptop as it's so tight however you do need to close. Despite going in and out of my swissgear bag, no wear is apparant in the 4 months or so I've had it.
