First i must say i was surprised to receive a collectors edition since i ordered what appeared to be the standard edition way way back last year. As far as the game is concerned we already know what where getting. This is kinda a bonus with one major catch its nothing special.Ok.First off it looks nothing like all the ones that you see advertised THAT'S the US version!! So whats different you ask??Well now, other then being a lot more expensive then USA version here is a summary.-USA version limited run and numbered xxxxxx/18000-Steelbook-Hardback book in colour-Art-book-Collectors edition 4 disc soundtrack with jewel case & boxed again (100+ tracks)-A nice solid 2 part box with illustrated artwork, keeps things nice and tidy-5 Chibi figuresSo whats up with the EU version?-Unlimited run, not numbered-Comes Crammed into a thin cardboard sleeve and thin clear plastic shell/sleeve, standard ps3 artwork-Paperback book (Black & White)-Only 2 soundtrack discs inside the game case-5 Chibi figures (Same as US)On the rear it shows the USA box not EU 'sleeve' type. The biggest gripe is with the 2 missing soundtrack discs, while total number of tracks remains the same there is effectively 'loss of quality' songs come highly compressed to fit the 2 discs instead of 4. The paperback book lacks the durability of a hardback, easily getting caught and damaged when removed from the sleeve, with quick skim through basic grammar and context mistakes showed a lack of proof-reading prior printing. Also once the manual is in the case not sleeve as it originally arrived, the contents fits loosely knocking about inside. The figures come disassembled once put together you quickly realize that the cat's head is too big to stay upright!! no joke it just falls over there is nothing to keep it in place! While only really being interested in the soundtrack and book this should have really been in a 'day one' edition of the game similar to previous tales releases which included: art-books, soundtracks and making of dvdFor true collectors grab the 'definitive' USA version not the half baked EU one. At 18000 made its hardly rare, the game itself is region-free and will play without issues, but consoles themselves are not so DLC & codes will not work.If you just wanted to play the game and listen to music (like me) your much better of with the standard edition, your not missing anything.Anyway have fun!! the game itself is great but we already knew that :)

This is a nice set but the American version was a lot better. The compromises to the European version include a different box design which isn't as impressive and the soundtrack CD not having it's own case but coming in the main game box with the track listing printed on the reverse of the inlay. Still, the included book and figures are good and it's nice that Namco-Bandai even bothered giving us Europeans the set at all.I do however think that you need to be a Symphonia fan to really enjoy this set. If the original wasn't one of my all-time favourite games then I don't think I could have overlooked some of the shortcoming's of this CE. I don't like to compare this to the American counterpart but of course, this retailed for £60-£70 and I'm not sure if it's worth the money unless you are a Symphonia die-hard or a collector that must have it.
