I had only played the original Monkey Ball up to this point in time, so I wouldn't be able to compare the newest addition to the series to anything other than the first. Having played the first, I remember it being one of the most addictive games around. It was easy to pick up, easy to get into, and easy to play with friends, whether it was the single player mode or the fund mini-games. This sequel stays within the same standards, with a new controller to get the job done with. The game is played simply by rolling around your monkey ball through various courses, each carrying their own set of obstacles. You simply tilt and Wii-mote where you want your monkey to roll. For me,it helped to think that the controller was the actual course, and I was tilting that around instead of actually rolling the ball. Along the courses, you'll also search for bananas in order to get extra lives, and try to complete the course in the shortest time possible. Easy, right? Sure. Until you start getting to the later courses. These are the ones where you will be tearing your hair out in frustration, constantly flying off ledges or running out of time by being to careful. The new controls to the game do not make this any easier. Compared to previous titles, you'll definitly feel like you have much less control of your monkey than you did before, and it does take a bit of getting used to. This has been the topic of much criticism for the game, yet in many ways, it is one of its stronger points. Come on, we still need to play challenging games, remember? You'll be working on a level, going bananas (haha... see what I did there?) before you actually complete it. You'll turn off the console and throw the controller down in anger... only to cool down for five minutes and then say "Okay, I'm ready to give it another go." The challenge is what keeps you coming back for more. The blitz won't stop there, however. You've still got fifty brand new mini-games to check out and play with your friends. Each mini-game tries to make unique usage of the new Wii-mote, yet with fifty mini-games, you can expect some of them to be major duds, while other ones just simply did not respond to the controller that well. Regardless, get three of your friends together, and you're guaranteed to have a somewhat enjoyable time, and out of so many mini-games, you're bound to find quite a few that will keep you and your friends occupied for a while.Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz proves to be a valuable asset to the Wii launch lineup, despite some minor shortcomings. So if you are looking for an addictive, challenging game to add to your Wii library, MOnkey Ball might be a pretty safe bet.

A follow up to super monkey ball adventure, and it's on of my top 3 wii games at the moment. Super Monkey Ball:Banana Blitz is great. The first world is plain easy. Then Sega cuts the barriers down to size, making them smaller [and to mention easier to bounce, tumble off the 'tray'], and making you laugh at yourself for no reason. Then punch yourself. With 8 worlds and 8 levels [complete with bonus and boss levels], to keep you going. The level design is a more cartoony look now, which I noticed after a few terrifying leaps of FALL OUT!s. The music is kinda amusing. If not that tiny bit anoying. [Example:Turn the Wii on. Go to disc channal, pop the disc in, and there's do do do, do do do,do do do do doo! and repeat.] Some of it is plain catchy. The minigames are... Great! Some have got ideas from other games, [Hammer throw is related to Rayman's Cow throw, but not with a cow.] Hammer throw will have you coming back for more. In my opinion, that is. The minigames are set at the 8 differnet worlds. For some evil reason. Any way it is still good. No unlockables, which is a shame. But with 50 big ones, next morning you will be giddy with sore arms, legs you name it.Charaters are the same. Mind the've gone into the cartoon machine and changend. They now own houses. You don't see them. Oh well. Here are the charaters:Aiai,MeeMee,Baby- CAME FROM THE FUTURE!,GonGon,And there's 2 more. 2 new ones that is.YanYan andDoctor.Strange thing is YanYan is the only one that has a tail. Sega's gone bonkers.Gameplay 10/10Fun Facter:9/10Last for: as long as your laugh box doesn't break.

I must confess I had my doubts about this game. The first two GameCube classics were always going to be a tough act to follow, and the lousy PS2 sequels proved that it wasn't going to be an easy task.I bought this game on a whim and was very pleasently surprised. I am even more surprised at how many negative reviews there are beneath this one, as this game, for my part, almost lives up to the original. It looks great, proving to the naysayers out there that there is a noticable visual difference between the Wii and the older consoles. The designs are very much in keeping with the style of previous outings, as is the layout of the game. The biggest difference is that our blessed monkeys can now jump. This could have been disastrous, but the levels play very much to the advantage of this new development. The overall control is tough at first, as you use the remote's motion sensor to control the monkeys' movement. Toughness aside, it does feel like a natural progression from the control stick and it does work quite nicely.Where the game fails is in its overzealous addition of no less than 50 mini games. Some of them are quite fun, but the bulk of them are badly designed and ultimately just not fun. It's a shame that the classic mini games from the first two games have been scrapped, as they could have been interesting with the Wii's technology. That minor gripe aside, the main game is still fun, kooky, engaging and traditionally frustrating. You could do a lot worse with £30 than buy a copy of this, so give it a shot and decide for yourself.

I bought this game for my 6 year old daughter, when she first tried to play it she found it dificult to control and I thought that she wouldn't want to play it again. How wrong I was, this has become her favourite Wii game and can keep her amused for hours and me too! It's great to have a game that we can play together and enjoy, we find ourselves shouting or laughing when we fall off a ledge, moving bridge, mushroom or whatever we are trying to move over. Other reviewers have commented that it's rather childish, but it is for ages 7 and up - so if you want a more 'grown up' game, then pick something else, there's a large selection! The controls do take a bit of getting used to but once you do,it's great fun. You have the choice of playing the main game or one of the 50 party games. I notice that another reviewer has stated that they finished the main game a their first attempt!!!! I very much doubt this, they probably meant the first world which is mainly to help you get used to the controls. (It is a bit confusing when the credits come up at the end of each world.) There are 8 worlds which get progressively harder. I have to say that my daughter and I really enjoy playing this game.

If you've ever played a "Super Monkey Ball" game - you'll know exactly what to expect here. You pick a monkey, they get put in a ball, you roll the ball to the goal - simple. Except - as you'll know if you've played a game in the series - there'll be an all manner of increasingly devilish things thrown at you.Picking up "Banana Blitz" for the first time, you'll noticed the controls are a little awkward (holding the remote on you palm and tilting it around), and not as responsive as earlier "Monkey Ball" games, and as such, the levels have been made a tad chunkier and easier. Still, once you've progressed through the game and reached the later levels, they won't stop you tearing your hair out in frustration. But, if you do get a bit angry, there's a MASSIVE selection of minigames for play, all using the remote in a unique way, and it's a great multiplayer experience.VERDICT: Great fun, and there's no better thrill than mastering those tougher levels.

The main game in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is very much like Kororinpa Marble Mania and if that is what you are after, I would look at Kororinpa, BUT that is not the reason why I love the game. I finished the 'main game' the first time I played it.There are many mini-games in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz such as frisbee, squash, bowling and such. The games are designed to play with 2 or more and are a lot of fun. The graphics are very Japanese, and may seem childish, but the games are a lot of fun for all. They make very good use of the Wii controls and in fact every mini-games does that in a different way.Coming back from a drink, playing this for a while with friends is just the funniest thing.I do not think you can go wrong with funny games that you can play with friends such as this game or Wii Sports, they are timeless fun and that is what the Wii was designed for.

I bought this game with my wii and also zelda, ive been a big fan of the SMB series and this doesnt disapoint, the graphics are nice and colourful, the use of the wii remote is so natural to roll the monkeys around its like your not even thinking what your doing its instinctual, the addition of the jump is a welcome improvement, not only do you get a good main game ,but also 50 "party" games, unfortunately this is a matter of quantity over quality, some of the 50 you will play once i fear, but in the 50 there are some nice gems and some old favourites return. My personal favourite is the whack-a-mole one ! overall i only gave it 4/5 as if you play the party games alone they are not as much fun as with friends, and the music!sooo annoying (only way to stop it is to turn the volume down on the tv)if your after a party game this is the one(dont bother with the rayman one)

This game is worth the money for the party games - 50 of them! All the games support up to 4 players, but you will need nunchucks for a few of them. The games themselves are great fun and will keep you entertained for years; my favourites are:- Simon Says- Jump Rope- Monkey Target- MonkeysmithBuy this game, it's a no brainer for the price and should be in everybody's collection of Wii games.

I was nearly put off this game because I read the other reviews. But because I saw it in the sale and my sister said it was good I bought it and I am so glad I did. There are 50 mini games to choose from and some are harder or last longer than others but then it means my children of 3 and 6 years can join in. But this doesn't mean that adults won't enjoy it too. Definately worth the money.

There's two modes to this game the first is a platform game where you progress through 8 levels per world and there's 3 worlds, you use the controller by tilting it to control the monkey who's in a ball through the level. The second mode of the game comprises 50 mini games which are great fun and is the mode my son plays the most, it's all cartoony and slapstick so good family fun.

22.1.2009

If you're a casual gamer or you have a bunch of friends at home, that want to play something, then this game is good for that.Don't expect much more. It's allways the same...But it's funny to tilt the remote to control the monkey. So, it's good for kids, party with friends and casual gamming but not good enough for guys that really like games. But, still, I like it.

super monkey ball banana blitz is a great must have game for your collection its deffinatly worth the money. it has a range of 50 mini games and all of them are good in their own little way the only down fall is the adventure mode levels are a bit annoying i cant get past the second boss lol a=but over all a good game xx

This game is a hit with my three and seven year old. There are lots of small mini-games that they can try out, with varying difficulty so there is plenty of enjoyment for different ability ranges. Older children might find this a bit basic though, with my eight year old preferring games like LEGO Star Wars.

i would recommend this game if your a smb fan. Although it is frustrating to control when u play it for the first time but u soon get used to it.The reason i have rated it 4 stars is cos u cant play 2 or more players on the stages which is a bit dissapointing but overall i think its a good game
