My partner has bought me this cocotte as a present. It is described above as having the unique selling point of Staub, spikes on the inside of the lid which self-baste the food. The lid is in fact completely smooth, so one would having been better off buying the more attractive Le Creuset design. I should imagine the cost of returning this item makes it not worthwhile to send back. What a disappointment.
