These liquid chalk markers are great. I have since bought the same pens in an 8-colour multipack as I was so pleased with these. I have made my own blackboards with mdf, which is porous - therefore these pens do leave a mark. This is fine as I want something more permanent and will simply respray the blackboards with black paint if I ever want to change the writing. Therefore, please be aware that if you have a homemade porous blackboard, then it will markI have also used these on shinier bought blackboards, and they wipe off easily with a damp cloth. They also work well on any surface, shiny or otherwise which I have found particularly useful when other pens have failed (Sharpie permanent markers).

When I first tried these having never tried anything like it before, I initially thought that the best place for them was the bin. I followed the instructions on the back of the packet but nowt happened. Absolutely nowt. But, because I hate sending stuff back, I persevered. It took nearly half and hour to get all four pens to work, but work they did. And, guess what, they work damned well. I scribbled some garbage on my blackboard, and left it to see if it baked on (this years hot weather). Well, dead easy to wipe off after 48hrs. Still got some time to see if it will do the same after a week, but at the moment I'm OK with these. Clear white markers which replicate my handwriting. No smears,

My original review was for 2 stars with this comment. "These pens write beautifully but they smudge at the slightest touch. I had assumed they would dry and then could be wiped clean using a damp cloth... BUT that could be my mistake!"Withing 48 hours of writing this review I was contacted by stationary Island, saying they were sorry I was disappointed with the pens and suggested that the actual pens I needed where the WET wipe, which will only be removed using a damp cloth and therefore much more suited to my needs. This was not the best bit, they then offerered to send me a packet of the wet wipe pens to try FOC!

Great pens, nice, Bold white writing instead of others I've used that you can hardly see. Nice tip so you can write clearly as opposed to the others with a chunkier tip. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because if you leave the writing on a little while longer, it becomes more difficult to wipe off. It's taken me a while to write this review because that is one thing I've wanted to test. Every other chalk pen I've had would not come off when left for a longer period of time. Although it is more difficult to get off after this longer period it is still easier than all the others with a bit of elbow grease therefore I will be ordering them again as overall they are the best ones I've used.

Smooth writers, with a very clear colour. Have had other white chalk pens that are milky in the past. However these pens stand out much better than the aforementioned pens. We have been using them to annotate work done on coloured card and they work great. Got some on my clothes and was able to wash off without any fuss, Would recommend these over chisel tips for children as their writing is much easier to decipher due to the bullet point nib closer resembling a writing pen. A great product, will be keeping a stockpile in the store cupboard for further use.

I'm using these on black foam board to mark detail lines, and I've found them to provide great coverage with the first application, although for really bold lines, you should apply two strokes or depress the head regularly to keep more ink flowing. These function just like regular paint pens: A wick that you have to depress for awhile at first to get the ink flowing, and then depress occasionally to keep it flowing. I expect they'll go quite far. I'm a fan of the chalk paint consistency, and these provide that texture and matte finish quite well.

After excessive reviewing and testing I have come to the conclusion that the pens do it's job. That's all I can say about that. The pens work well on my magnetic black board and show brightly when the ink projector is pushed down. I do however have a problem because the ink soon becomes less bright and therefore I have to push down on the pen ink projector.An improve that could be made would be to have the little black tip on the lid to be magnetic, then it would look perfect on a magnetic board!

I used these to write a wedding sign in a blackboard for my daughter. Was a little unsure at first as we used chalk to develop the writing needed and wanted the pens to write over the chalk so that it would last.We did this, and I am pleased to say, it worked beautifully. The writing is bright and clear.The pens are easy to control with just the right amount of content coming out. They didn’t leak excess and even worked when writing at an angle so an added bonus.Would definitely recommend.

Far better to write with than chalk meaning you get more space on your board. Can take a while to kickstart the pen into life, one refused to work but this was resolved very quickly.Might be my board but not as easy to remove as I was hoping, but a little bit of pressure and its rubs off easily.Interestingly I was offered the option of free products in return for reviewing these, which makes me wonder how many of the positive reviews are actually true reviews or just promoted reviews.

Easy to use. Just shake and go. Depending if you want to be able to remove the chalk you might either love or have the fact that it needs some elbow grease to remove it. So probably not best for children to use as their work is usually temporary. I wipe the words I wrote with a damp cloth to clean the area a d they are firmly in place. I left the writing for a few days before attempting to wipe as I WANTED them to last a giid while.Happy with purchase, not suitable for childrens use.

These are nice pens I use on my black glass board in the kitchen, I use them alongside other coloured chalk markers I have from stationery island and they compliment them nicely. On first use give a good shake and press down firmly on the nib a few times until the ink flows through. After this they are very easy to use. The colour is bold and bright and easily wipes off with a sponge or wet cloth. Am very happy to recommend these pens.

I had a bit of difficulty getting the first one to work and would therefore highly recommend reading the instructions first. Otherwise you might damage one as I had done. It leaves a dark stain on the board and is still faintly visible once you wipe it off (I use a sponge and water) but that creates a lovely chalk effect on the board which I was happy withI give it for stars as it is very reasonably priced and does write like chalk.

I have been buying these Stationary Island Pens for 4 years now since I bought my black glass message board for the kitchen. I have tried other pens in between but compared to these they were rubbish, it's a shame they don't last longer but I suppose it depends on how often you write, I use mine to keep a track of what is in the freezer and when I have flea treated the animals etc, I would be lost without them.

Really like these pens. They are comfortable to write with and have a nice feel to them. The pen itself writes fluidly which is important as you want it to write just like a pen if possible which these pens do accomplish. These pens are used on my son's black glass chalk board so writing is very clear and looks good. They erase easily, have low odour and are non toxic so I am all around very pleased with them.

I have a black ‘white board’ and no whiteboard pens show up clear on it. Hence why I decided to look for some white ones. I’ve bought some in the past that are watery and clear but these are definitely the best I’ve used. I was hesitant as I do find them a little pricey, but after using them I would pay it again! They are very visible and easy to wipe away. Very happy
