This is a really great map!The size is perfect, not too big, not too small. I like that it is white background and gold (or whatever colour country you scratch off) so it's not too in your face, it looks sophisticated.The quality of paper is extremely good, very impressed. It's poster paper and it's pretty heavy! Blu-tac will not hold this up, you will need drawing pins or even better is to frame it and just take it out to scratch it when you've been somewhere new.The geography of the map is great too, although if you want to scratch off a specific part such as a State in America, you will have to refer to another map in order to find the location, as there are no guide lines on the gold sheeting before you scratch off.

I am extremely satisfied with the product I got and with the services offered. Although the parcel was due to arrive on Monday, the 25th of November, it actually arrived two days before, on Saturday, the 23rd of November.The product is high quality and since it was a gift for my boyfriend, he just simply adored it. He always wanted a map where he could pin all the places visited and I somehow made his dream come true.The only thing about this map is that it's not very large (and it's the largest I could find of this type) and that is way it is not very detailed. And another thing would be that the map has the same colour for every country in Europe, a different colour for the USA and so on,

I thought this was an absolutely brilliant idea!Was bought as a Christmas present for my girlfriend, its a great interactive way of checking off the places you have been together. It comes in a protective tube and rolls out and in easy enough if you're not sticking it to the wall, it comes with a protective layer so the scratch surface doesn't accidently scratch off when unrolling. The countries and islands scratch off in different colours which adds a bit more colour and depth to the map.It can be tricky getting the exact lines when scratching off as at first I used an ordinary coin, after not doing so great a key works better and allows you to follow the lines a little closer and keeps it much neater.Id fully recommend this map for travellers,

after unpacking the package i found a very nicely printed cylinder.Inside of this was the map, the map itself is slightly glossy while the scratch layer has a matte brass like finish.The map looks like a product that is way more expensive than as it is sold as, It looks great mounted on the wall.I gave this map as a gift, it was well received and would be mounted on the wall, only after that i told about the scratch feature and they were completely amazed. Apperantly it can look nice hanging on the wall being entirely unscratched.Scratching open a country will reveal the country in a more vibrant colour that still fits with the rest of the map.This is a real recommendation for people who like

Gave this as a present to my mother some time ago, so reporting back now.She's a traveler (as in likes holidays) and has visited a lot of countries. She had a map before with pins marking previous destinations. So, when i saw this, I knew I had to get it..Arrived well-protected and quickly.We sat down together while she listed the countries she'd been to and I used a coin to rub their coating off, revealing the coloured land beneath. She's been to so many that I covered the table, the map, myself and the floor with the rubbings, but WELL WORTH IT!It's now up on her wall and is actually a great talking piece for her. Not to mention the fact that she wants to travel to the countries we've not yet rubbed off.

I saw this a while ago but glad I got it through Amazon, as another website was charging nearly double the price (and its from exactly the same supplier!!).Hubby thought it was a great idea and it now has pride of place in our dining room, so he can show it off to everyone.The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is, like other people have posted, there are no clear definitive lines between states in countries i.e. in USA - it just states USA, so you do have to be careful when scratching it off. Other than that its a great present idea and I would definitely buy this again and recommend to anyone looking for something "a little bit different".

Bought this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, and he loved it! The idea is that we will be scratching off places we see together, when we go off travelling.After unpacking the outer box, the map was still protected in a hard paper tube, rolled up with silk paper (perhaps after a few other reviews on here about it getting scratched when removing it from the tube?). The tube looked very presentable, and was a nice present to give!It was also a nice big size, so the smaller countries don't get too squashed. You obviously also get the option of scratching off an entire country, or just the region you have seen.Definitely recommend this map!

Got the scratch off map as a present from my mom. I'm sure it would be much more fun if it was a little bigger (maybe other projection) and it would be nice to have borders for the US States. In the description it says, each country is a different color - not sure, but if I'm not blind it should better say every continent or so...Although there are a lot of things to improve I do really like it as it is a very personal map to me and it is fun to scratch the gold off.I've seen the world map, a map for US, one for UK and Ireland -> what about a map for Europe (since there are so many small countries I really have problems to distinguish).

Bought this for a friend's 30th after finding the most competitive price on Amazon. It's a great idea and my friend loved it, it looks worth the money. I gave 4 stars as the packaging could be better, e.g. A plastic lid rather than cardboard as mine was broken when it arrived, and this could look better. Also I couldn't get the map out of the tube as it had filled out. After trying for ages I then tied a hair band round the map before putting it back, so that my friend could easily take the map out.I recommend this product as a special gift or for yourself. Warning: it will make you want to travel the world immediately!

Very nice idea for anyone who is interested in travelling. The film is easy to scratch off to reveal countries you have been to. The map comes in a very nice cardboard tube with tissue paper inside to prevent the map from being scratched during transit. That said, however, great care must be taken when removing the map from the tube as it would be easy to scratch any of the gold off. Also, you must be really careful when scratching off the countries as it's sometimes not that easy to see where two countries border and once you scratched off the wrong area there's nothing you can do.

Absolutely love this product. Very good quality paper that is thicker than a poster. Comes in a tube with crepe paper on the top to prevent the product becoming scratched, the tube is also perfect for a traveller wanting to take the map with them. Very easy to scratch off so be sure to be careful with the product to prevent any unwanted scratches and also when you're scratching the product be sure to do so carefully. A very lovely gift for someone who loves to travel. So nice to be able to scratch off the places you have been and makes you want to book your next holiday.

I bought this scratch map for a friend who was going travelling on his gap year and he absolutely loves it!Delivery was quick and the map is a good size and the gold coating is easy to remove (but not too easy so that it just rubs off) and the countries below are bright colours. It is quite vintage looking so blends nicely with any existing wall decoration without looking out of place. My only criticism is that the individual countries within a larger continent are not different colours. However, this is only a minor point and doesn't affect my overall rating. 5 STARS.

...but there are so many places missing :( The product itself is good, nice size for a wall poster, but there's pretty much nowt in the Pacific Ocean. In fact, anything smaller than Sri Lanka seems to be missing unless it is a prime holiday destination.I see Luckies have just come out with a more detailed map for about the same price - wish I'd got that, but a bit late now. Like I said though - it is a great concept, and i'm looking forward to scratching as much off as possible in the next few years. It certainly serves as a good reminder of how much I haven't seen!

While I bought two of these as presents my fiancee ended up buying one for me. Much cooler and more interactive than a map on the wall covered in push-pins, this is a colorful way to do a bit of showing off, serving as a great conversation maker at dinner parties if it is mounted on a wall in your house/flat. The only thing I wish was different about it is that the individual US states and Canadian provinces are not outlined so its hard to distinguish if you've been all over those huge countries or just to a singular city or region. Otherwise, very happy with it.
