This HB 4 mm black lead core pencil has the advantage of being made from sustainable forest wood and comes in a pleasing yellow and black design. The length of the pencil is standard, but the width is double that of a standard one. the shape of the body is triangular and this combined with the extra thickness offers reassurance to the young hand unused to holding a pen or pencil and allows the easier production of lines and shapes being particularly good for drawing exercises or copying the shape of letters. If you love Staedtler products you will love those jumbo pencils as well. They come in triangular shape that is not only comfy but also prevent pencils from rolling down from the table. The feel of the pencils is very similar to the ErgoSoft range, smooth and a bit rubbery.This is pack of superb quality 12 identical HB pencils, with soft lead, easy to shade and smudge. They are perfect for little artists but also adults who like me enjoy using chunky pencils. My daugher's school uses them as well (year 1) but they have written “Noris school pencil” instead of “Noris Club jumbo” so they won’t get mixed.They can be easily sharpened in the bigger hole the classic Noris Club double hole

My 3 year-old niece loves this pencil. It is easy to grip and the chunky size and triangular shape helps with this. The lead is bold and writes with little pressure (perfect for little ones learning to grip pencils correctly). I also gave one to my 18-month old niece to play around with, and she was able to scribble away quite comfortably. Made in Germany, the wood also comes from certified, sustainably-managed forests! The pack of 12 is a great buy, and I will certainly be buying more, especially when my older niece starts school.

Used by our left handed toddler who found the pencils really easy to grip and use. The graphite within the pencil appears to be quite robust and didn’t crack on dropping: i.e. when sharpening we didn’t notice that the lead was broken, which has affected some pencils he’s used and can be really annoying when the graphite falls out of the pencil end on use. He’s currently half way through the pack of twelve, each pencil lasting for around two weeks before the stump is too small for even him to grip.

My seven-year-old daughter has been using these during her first week back at school. She has some difficulty in holding pencils in the correct 'tripod grip' manner and whilst I have bought her other three-sided pencils, these over-size pencils really seem to have made a difference to her and she is getting much better at gripping correctly (although she still does need the occasional reminder.From a sharpening point of view one requires a sharpener with a larger hole similar to

Superb - pencils that fit perfectly in my hand without discomfort. If you are a bit older like me and you find that gripping a pencil for very long becomes a bit uncomfortable, then these are perfect. The larger (thicker) lead is a bonus as it means the pencil is very easy to use. Like I say, perfect for older hands - young hands too will find these pencils a lot easier to hold and use.I also use them to mark wood prior to cutting or planing - these are a woodworkers dream.

Staedtler Noris 119 Triplus Jumbo Learner's pencil is a great start for a young child as they are more comfortable to hold and I know our youngest seems to be able to have more control as the triangle shape allows the children to hold the pencil the correct way using the thumb and finger, previously he was using a full fist to hold the pen/pencil.These are great pencils and I am happy to recommend them.

I got these pencils for my four year old grandson who has, until now, had a tendency to hold a pencil like a dagger. As you would expect from Staedtler they are of excellent quality. The triangular shape and chunky size means that, with encouragement, he is now using a better grip and realising how much more control ha has over what appears on the paper...highly recommended.

Absolutely super pencils! The best pencils ever. So comfortable to hold and write with. I'm getting more of these for my boys to use at school. Note that you have to use the chunky pencil sharpener with them. Well worth it. You can see they are of a high quality. Luxury pencils for sure.,From the photo attatched you can see there are chunky and triangular in shape.

These over sized pencils are great for young writers aiming to have a good grip whilst learning to write. The three sided pencils definitely helps with this over the standard rough shape. They will need a larger than standard sharpener.As other reviewers have said, these are perfectly suited to adults too and are less tiring on the hand than traditional pencils.

My daughter has just started school and is benefiting from using these pencils.They are 'normal' pencils apart from they are gently shaped in order to encourage the user to hold the pencil with a tripod grip.They can be sharpened normally.These pencils are helping my daughter considerable and I would recommend them.

A brilliant set of jumbo pencils for the junior writers. My grandson found these really easy to use. They are lovely and chunky ever for little ones to scribble with. Is imagine these will last a lifetime if they needed them. Perfect for teachers to have in a classroom for the little ones to use.

Brilliant chunky pencils, double the diameter-width of standard pencils so they're really easy for young hands to grip. The triangular shape also aids grip and is comfortable to hold. You get a good strong pencil line with them and the marks it makes rub out easily. Great for primary-aged kids.

This is a great pencil for early writers - triangular in shape which supports learning a good grip, chunkier than a regular pencil again great for little ones learning fine motor control and the quality you would expect from Staedler.Great value for the box - highly recommended product.

These kids are perfect for young children learning to write and draw - and I must admit, they are my personal favourites for drawing too. The extra chunkiness I find improves my drawing ability. I just wish they came in different hardnesses.
