I first saw a review for SCT3 on IGN and was astounded when they gave it 4.9/10! I thought surely this game could not be all that bad when the previous installments were such great fun to play and so I took a risk and got the game. I'm very glad that I did!The good thing about SCT3 is that it has, in my opinion, evolved from SCT2 for the PS2. Naturally, the graphics are better although this isn't one of the games real strengths. The gameplay itself is so smooth and realistic that it really is a pleasure to play. However, it is not a pure tennis simulation like Top Spin 3. The controls are simple to master but likewise,it is also easier to make an unforced error or to hit a misstimed drop shot in the net.One thing which really annoyed me about Virtua Tennis and Top Spin was the fact that your opponent (and your own player) could run down practically every single ball, no matter the angle or pace. This time, if your opponent or you hits a very well-timed ball with plenty of pace, you won't get to it, just as it would be in reality.A great aspect of the game is the fact that the crowd shouts out the various players' names, such as "Come on, Roger!" or "Let's go, Lopez!" which I haven't heard in any other tennis game. This is good as it adds a personal touch and makes you really feel a part of the atmosphere.Another innovation is the challenge system. Just as professional tennis players have 3 challenges in a match, so do you in this game and the computer will from time to time make a mistake and call a good ball out and it is your responsibility to go with your 'gut instinct' and challenge if you deem it necessary.Sure, there are a few qualms. Tennis players such as Roddick, Murray and the Williams sisters are not present but when you get down to it, so what? You still have Roger, Rafa and Nalby, who for me are the three most exciting male players to watch. Ana Ivanovic also makes her first debut in SCT3 which is a good thing :-) The graphics are decent but TS3 definately has the best graphics but not the most exciting gameplay imho. So, I would definately recommend this game for all tennis fans and for those who find TS3 to be just that little bit too realistic.

After playing SCT2 on the PS2 and enjoying it (if a little too simple at times), i looked forward to playing a tennis game on the Xbox 360. I bought Virtua Tennis 3 and was extremely dissapointed, the game to me just didn't flow despite being graphically excellent. With SCT3 though the game is realistic and enjoyable to play. It has got slightly more difficult from SCT2 which adds depth to the game.Pros:- Challenge system. The comp now even make errors (so they never get every 1st serve/shot in). Not every challenge is successful, but boy is it good when you win one.- Gameplay. It's smooth and realistic, so a must for all tennis fans on that front.- Pro Tour. Unlike SCT2,you can now play doubles and mixed doubles as well as singles, giving you 3 rankings to aim for the number 1 spot. Although the Grand Slams aren't official (like on SCT2), the 4 are more or less on the game, just with slightly different names and played in reverse order (US first, Aussie last).- Decide on games. Unlike pro tour mode on the old SCT2, when you had to complete challenges (often leading to you losing to higher ranking players if you failed them), you now play a whole game against the opposition. You can dedice though whether to a play from a short 1 set 2 game match to a 5 set 6 game epic going late into the night at Wimbledon (or should that be the Royal Tennis at Oxford on the game).Cons:- Player graphics. Although sharp, some players (such as Sharapova) could have been slightly improved.- Retired players. This is being a bit picky, but both Henin and Hingis had retired well in advance of the game's release. Although nice to play with the two mentioned, it may have been nicer to have two female players who are still on the tour (such as Jankovic and Kuznetzova).- No Murray. I'm British, i would have liked to have seen Murray on the game (he's number 4 in the world as well). However, this does give you the option of creating him and playing as him on the Pro Tour mode.Overall, this is an addictive, realistic and fun game. A must consider buy for all tennis fans - even if money is a bit tight on the old credit crunch front ;).

i am a tennis fan i have played all tennis games available on xbox360 ,i rate this game as the best tennis game on the 360 why the control system it is the most relistic i have played take the serve it is all about the timing hit the ball at the right time when the ball flashes and you will hit your serve with maximum power and if you are a power serve your oponent will hit the ball out very good.the season mode the best in a tennis game you have serveral seasons on tour a full 12 months you can pick what tournaments to enter and you can build up your players stats very good ,i have topspin3 it has pretty graphics but is no fun to play ,the season mode on topspin3 is a disapointment i dontplay topspin3 anymore ,i play this game ,one of the only negative about SCT3 is the graphics they could be a little better ,but i never get tired of playing this game ,if you are a tennis lover you will enjoy this game [buy it]

This game is a harder version than the previous SCT games but after a while you appreciate it,s depth and will probably keep you playing for months ? it,s just a shame more effort could not of been put into the visual side of it which are not much better than SCT 2 ! I expect more from next gen games !I think it wins on the gameplay against Vitua Tennis 3 but loses on the Graphics ! can,t compare against Top Spin 3 as I havn,t played it.You can play 6 games and 5 sets if you like which is a very realistic touch if you have the time and the players gameplay is actually affected by fatigue, you slow down and your shots are weaker and less acurate which is very realistic.
