They are fantastic and also look beautiful. First day I walked 25 km with no effort. Although thick, they don't feel hot in the summer. I have a hard time wearing them, but afterwards they fit around my feet like a glove. I wash them in the machine on wool and the lowest temperature or I throw them in a bucket with water and some detergent. After first buying 1 pair, I immediately bought 6 more! Despite the corona period, delivered fairly quickly.

I'm a size 9.5 uk and found the socks slightly tight on initial wear which I found acceptable. Trialled hiking round a park for 4 hours with new hiking boots to break them in, my feet for hot to begin with (I believe this was a combination of boots being a snug fit with socks) however I found that after 4 hours my feet were cooler than when I started and comfortable, no signs of blisters or any rubbing whatsoever.

Top quality socks make a huge contribution to the trekking experience and even the very best boots won't keep you feeling comfortable unless they're complemented by the right socks. I've come late to the party with Smartwool Phd but having tried all the other top brands it becomes instantly obvious that these are the best - and in fact the only ones I'll be buying from now on.

I have used smartwool socks for years and this pair was as good as all the others I have used so far. I use them in my long runs in winter and it keeps my feet warm and dry, no blisters and it fits perfectly. It’s not too thick to change the feel in the running shoes as well. I highly recommend it.

High quality sock. Used for 2 night wild camp in Dartmoor, feet remained dry, blister free, odour free. Provided excellent padding and arch support. You can’t go wrong with these socks, probably the most comfortable socks I’ve ever worn. Recommend

Bought for my partner. He loves these, comfortable and warm without over-heating. They were tight at first but soon settled into his feet. I'm told them don't move around inside the boot either, so he's happy.

Excellent socks, fit well, cushioned in the right areas, wear them >12 hours a day, walk > 10 miles a day, 5 days a week and without decent socks feet would suffer, Only con is the cost

Used these for 4 weeks now and they are brilliant. The merino wool is perfect, not too warm and they fit great. Quite tight initially but they offer excellent support.

I've walked many miles in many different socks and these are the best in my opinion. It's down to the close fit and padding in the right places.

Kept my feet dry and ventilated during my long hikes. Not cheap, but in my opinion worth the price to protect my feet.

It's a bit thick and warm for summer. Smartwool does socks that are thinner than this one which are cooler too

Arrived in good time. Very comfortable and perfectly suited to lengthy treks in hot weather. Excellent buy.

These socks are my favorite. I always wear them. So not just walking. Stay well on the foot. Strong socks

Great socks, very comfortable. Just be careful how you wash them. Probably best way is to hand wash them.
