This Shure product appears rather overpriced to me, but nevertheless I now own 6 of them, because it works, this is sized right for SM57 and 58'sThere is another one in the range, the A55M (only one letter less), that one fully encloses the mic, but it alsodoesn't seem to support a weighty mic as well.I use these when amplifying choirs, people that wander off the mic or quiet acoustic instruments (only whensomething gets turned up heaps can rumble up a micstand become loud enough to be a worry).Does the job well, with these I do not have to filter the lows out of the signal as much, a big plus if you wantto capture the whole sound spectrum.Someone is probably making bit of an over the top profit on these, but like I said, they work. For a cheaperalternative, check out the "On-Stage" product range :)

I don't know why every 58 isn't mounted with one of these. They provide excellent isolation from most bumps and handling jolts from mic stands. Unless, possibly, their size may seem a bit intrusive on the mic stand for video purposes. I use the other model for my 57s and KSM137s and SM81s. Better to handle avoidable audio intrusions at the source rather than working endlessly in post to eliminate the sound there. You always lose something in post when removing artifacts, so better to start with clean audio whenever possible. I have one of these for each of my Shure mics.

This was second time I bought A55M - I had it for years but displaced it. Later I found the old one and they look identical - so yeah - this thing will last. It is not a professional mic cage but I use it with digital Zoom recorders to record rehearsals and it does the job perfectly. It is small so it easily fits in a camera bag I bought to carry my current Zoom H2n around. I recorded in a crowded coffee shop with just a simple mic boom stand, H2n and A55M and it works fine - no sound from people stomping around.

These genuine Shure shock mounts work perfectly with my Shure Beta 57A microphones. I was surprised how much of a difference they made. Before I added them, any touching of the mic stands would transfer to the microphones. Even tapping my foot while playing would be picked up. Not anymore. Good product. Just remember, these are for Shure Microphones. They might not fit other brands.

This shock mount is very effective at eliminated noises and vibrations through the stand. I use it with an SM58, on a table stand and it removes all unwanted noise. The price is also very good. One small note, the mic sags a bit in the shock mount, because it is a relatively soft rubber ring. This doesn't cause any ill effects with sound, but the mic doesn't sit level in the mount.

I bought this as a shock mount for the Shure KSM8 (which has an internal stabilizer) as added resistance for noise at my bench. The mic is incredibly low "self-noise" already, but the shock mount improved how quiet the mic is for things that go bump in the night on my bench.Absolutely would recommend for any mic body that will fit.

Among other things I produce, I use multiple of these for holding Shure SM58’s for a podcast. They’re mounted on short table-top stands, so we needed shock-mounts to reduce table and movement noise. These work far better than I expected. ????

This is a great product - if you use mics that usually have the standard clips for recording (in my case, 57s), you can get a great bit of isolation from floor noise by using these. Mic doesn't slip out, either.

Mated to a generic $!0 desk tripod after tossing its plastic clip, hosting a SM57 + A2WS feeding a Focusrite Solo for audio conferencing. Beats the daylights out of the Dell laptop's built-in microphone.

Low profile and high quality, don't bother buying any of the cheap-o ~$10 shock mounts if you bought a Shure SM57/58 or other tapered mic that will fit into this shock mount.

These work great and are very effective at isolating both our SM57s. One of our SMs also has the Granelli mod, and this rubber donut holder works great for that mic too.

Even though something as simple as a mic clip seems so insignificant, all I can say is that he can make a world of difference.

My son had another type of shock stopper but wasn't happy with it. He said this one works great, so it seems to do the job.

Great shock mount... I have the mic mounted into my desk and it isloates any noises from typing or things of that nature.

Typical Shure high quality and simple effective design. Fits SM57 and other similar body size microphones.
