I must confess that I’m a big fan of Sandisk SD cards, have more than 10 full ‘dimension’ cards of varying in speeds and capacities for use in HD camcorders and DSLRs. So far I have never had one fail. The manufacturer claims them to be shock and temperature proof, X ray and water proof. (I’ve never put any SD card through the washing machine to test this, but know a few folk who have done so and had functioning stain free cards)These very fast cards are designed for use with 4k capable devices. That’s even bigger files than HD 1080p. At the time of writing these are capable of being recorded on some newer phones with external microSD slots, and a few cameras (although many of these will have a slot for a full sized SD card)and small video cameras such as GoPro Hero 4.I was interested to try this card Sandisk Extreme card in my Nikon D750 in RAW mode (big sensor, large files) on maximum burst speed to see if it slowed down, and also for 4k video on the GoPro. Both worked well. In the DSLR the micro SD card had to be used in the holder to work in the camera, but it seemed to function as well as the full dimension card I shot 27 frames at 6/s in RAW and 43 jpeg before it started to slow down, and this may have been rate limited by the camera buffer and not the card. An advantage of using a microSD however is that I can put the card into a tablet and view the files on ‘big screen’ no file transfer necessary. However I also have slower cards 60mb/s and these seem ok also in both devices in terms of functionality. The faster cards are also marketed for rapid file transfer to computer. Again I noticed no difference cf slower cards, my 4 year old Mac chugs along like a steam train what ever you do with it. My newer and 4 times faster pc is quicker, but having also done the Window 10 upgrade, its tricky to know what’s rate limiting anymore…..I’ve also tried the Sandisk 32gb Extreme plus microSD card which has speed 95mb/s. On my devices I could notice no difference between the two they were both excellent. Only small downsize is that on the larger full size SD card it states the write speed, but on the micro cards only Extreme or Extreme Plus due to the lack of space. Once you through out the packaging I could easily forget the speed. So if you have new kit and the manufacturer specifies this level of card then this is high recommended, also if you plan to upgrade it will be future proof (12 month for electronics???) but if you have older kit and are on a budget then a slower Sandisk card may do the job just as well, and save a few pennies.

The NEC/Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 controller is a limiting factor in my system according to SanDisk and that would excuse the illusive 90 MB/s "up to" read speed but it doesn't explain why the write speed of this 2015 card is significantly slower than one of their older versions from 2014 after testing them both with that same system.(2015) SDSQXNE-064G-GN6MA "90 MB/s READ" & "40 MB/s WRITE"59.6 MB/s read test result37.0 MB/s write test result(manufacturer's "million bytes per second" standard)(2014) SDSDQXN-064G-G46A "60 MB/s READ" & "40 MB/s WRITE"54.6 MB/s read test result49.3 MB/s write test result(manufacturer's "million bytes per second" standard)Both of the above microSDXC cards contain an exFAT-formatted 59.46 GB partition (63,831,015,424 bytes)with 16 MB of unallocated free space located BEFORE it, exFAT-formatted storage devices aren't compatible with my TV's USB media player and Windows XP (SP2 & SP3) is only compatible with them once update KB955704 has been installed. All my 32 GB SanDisk microSDHC cards have a capacity of 31,902,957,568 bytes and I recently returned a 32 GB SanDisk 'Ultra' microSDHC card because it only had a capacity of 30,895,767,552 bytes (<31 GB) whereas the Lexar 'High-Performance' microSDHC card I bought recently has a capacity of 32,014,073,856 bytes (>32 GB) but it only has a <20 MB/s write speed. If you want my advice...Buy a Lexar 'High-Performance' if the 20 MB/s write speed is sufficient & you want the advertised capacity that you're paying for;Buy an older SanDisk 'Extreme' if you need write speeds greater than 20 MB/s & you don't mind it being slightly under capacity;Under no circumstances buy a SanDisk 'Ultra' product manufacturered in 2015

There's not a huge amount to say about memory cards. They tend to work irrespective of price. But reliability can be an issue over the longer term in my experience tho' I've never had a single problem with any SanDisk card I've owned. As a keen photographer of many years standing I've bought and resold numerous SanDisk cards, mainly SDs and CFs and with all kinds of capacities. I even remember paying quite a chunk of cash for a 8mb! Now they're producing these finger nail sized micro's with frankly undreamed of capacities. So this is a great size for video or phone usage. I used it in my Fiio HD music player and it didn't skip a beat! I also recoded some test video and was perfectly happy with the performance. One thing worth considering is that some devices don't need (or can actually make use of ) a very fast card like this. So choose a card speed that suits the device; don't just spend money to get the fastest. It's well made, comes nicely packaged and with an adaptor for use in standard SD slots, or to enable transfer via the SD slot on your computer. There's nothing else you need and in my opinion based on significant brand experience this is likely to be a fit and forget item, offering reliable and very fast performance over many years. Recommended.

If a single mum like me can do it, then so can you ;) love this little gadget sooo much, I'm telling everyone about it, just download the app, plug it in, connect and off you goI haven't quite explored all the tricks it has yet, but just a bit of proof, had my local garage try to prove me wrong after I told them there was only one fault left on my car, he asked if he could put his £2.5k snap-on kit on, of course I said yes sure, and guess what?? Same result!! Maybe a bit more detailed, but came down to the same conclusion, replace my lambda sensor! Lol he was very impressed with my little Bluetooth scanner, it's helped me enormous finding faults instantly instead of pouring money into parts not needed trying to hunt down any problems with your car,a very very happy customer here! Highly recommended, even if you're not doing your own mechanics as there are many other uses for it, like help you save on your fuel consumption, really worth getting, it will pay you back tenfoldRead full review...

I've already reviewed the smaller 32 GB version used in a dashcam video recorder, so this review of the larger capacity 64 GB micro-SD format card in a PC tablet to boost the standard memory should come as no surprise.Recognised immediately as an additional storage device, copying data files to it to concentrate the apps and OS on the original (32 GB) SSD, was fast and completely trouble-free: couldn't have gone better, and the tablet now has ample capacity for my immediate needs. As there's more total free space, for the usual reasons, there is a modest performance boost as well (electronics work so much faster than semi-mechanical drives!), which is a bonus. At least so far,SanDisk's unblemished record for reliability from my point of view remains intact, including the older standard-size SD Extreme cards I have in my DSLR, which were installed new over 8 years ago, and are still going strong.

I bought this card for a dbpower action camera. (the only micro card I had was a 64gb one and the cameraa can only read upto 32gb)It worked straight from the box, plugged it in the camera that could only take upto 32gb cards , formatted and away I went.It comes with an adaptor which was handy for plugging into the pc.Speed seems good, certainly good enough for the action camera to video. I tried it briefly in my dslr (sony slt a37) with the adaptor and it worked fine in there too with a little time when writing raw and jpg files and larger panorama shots but this is the way with most cards have tried.I got this card on a lightning deal so a little cheaper than the current £12.95 but still good value at that.As others have said it did come with some recovery software too, which I hopefully wont need but would have been handy this summer when my brother in law lost his holiday snaps :)

SanDisk has a stellar reputation and rightly so. They have been going since the early days of modern computer memory and flash memory. They were the most highly regarded brand when everyone was using Compact Flash and have been at the forefront for innovation as each new type of flash memory has been released. I have probably 15 SanDisk cards of various configurations and I have never been let down by them. The Extreme range is the 3 rungs up on their 4 rung ladder of quality and is designed for intensive use and has enhanced environmental protection and higher read / write speeds. You can use this microSD card in a regular SD card slot with the supplied adapter.I have used this card in a Lumia Windows phone and a 20mp digital SLR.Write speed is fast - fast enough for HD video - and 32GB gives you plenty of storage. Highly recommended.

Got this micro SD card for my GoPro hero 4 silver. I originally had a PNY micro SD card which had caused me problems from the start; it wouldn't update at all and the only time that it did update is when some sort of magic was involved....However with this micro SD no problems what so ever, got it out of the packaging, which comes with an adaptor which is handy. Plugged the SD into my laptop throw the update onto the card in seconds and a few minuets later I had a GoPro up and running with version three. In conclusion I would never buy a PNY product just because of the problems I had with it. I would defiantly advise getting sandisk extreme if you have a GoPro and if not look at GoPro's website where they list a load of others that are compatible.Personally to my this is my favourite micro SD card.Would buy again!

If you are reading this then possibly, like me you have spent the last few hours trying to buy memory cards balancing speed vs capacity and wondering which makes are worth the extra money and "who would spend that much" for dome of the brands.I'm happy to report that these gold and red sandisk cards are the best balance of all that, that I could find. Capacity is very good for the price and the writing speed is fast enough for dash cam, IP camera record and with the SD adapter DSLR cameras. I have a canon 640D and this thing can write faster than the camera can take photos - which is more than can be said for the card that came with it (snap snap snap - buffer... snap snap snap buffer...and so on).Ive bought several of these so I shall leave a review for each one.

SanDisk have built their reputation on two things above all: reliability and speed. Both are in full evidence in this micro SDHC which comes complete with an adapter which ensures its compatibility with many more cameras, tablets and other devices. This particular card is very much aimed at the action camera market where you will find truly impressive data processing capability with 75 MB/s easily achievable and with superb image detail in full HD or 4K formats. Those who like filming fast moving sporting events or the like will find the results come as something of a revelation. Given the build quality and performance along with 32GB of capacity this represents excellent value for money. One of those products which you can buy with real confidence.

SHORT REVIEWThis is a performing Microsdxc although it doesn't completely meet the manufacturer's specifications.LONG REVIEWThis reviews regards the MicroSDXC sandisk extreme 64GB whose product code is SDSQXNE-064G-GNFMA. It has been released in August 2015 and it will be replaced on August 2016 (or it has been replaced already, according to the time of reading) with another MicroSDXC with exactly the same name but whose product is SDSQXVF-064G-GN6MA. What is difference? According to Sandisk, they have the same read speed (90MB/s) but the latter has a better write speed (60MB/s instead of 40MB/s like the one that is reviewed here). You should follow this link for the latest version of the card

If you ever want a PROPER SD CARD, you can rely 100% on SanDisk. I tried many brands, (won't name brands here) and I can tell that I was always disappointed. Fake reported size, sudden failure, writing/reading issues and so on. Eventually I bought this for a friend to be used in a DSLR and I waited to see if there are complains... surprisingly, it proved to be the most reliable card she ever had. Now I use a similar one in my smartphone and there is nothing to complain about. The writing speed is amazing. I never wait countless time to move large quantity of data between phone and my laptop. Without going into technical details, this card is worth every penny.

The SD card is one of the best on the market but my phone would NOT recognize it. I had to waste a lot of time reading forums, installing programs on the PC and all to no avail until someone said 'try putting it in another phone'. I stuck it in an OLD Galaxy S3 mini, which recognised it but which said it wasn't formatted and asked if I'd like to format it. I said yes and once done it works on all my phones.I had already formatted it with two different programs on the PC so I have NO idea what the difference is between the format it gets from Windows and the format it gets from a Galaxy S3 (both FAT), but there you go.It works like a dream now.

I got this card for a sony fdr x1000v action camera it uses a micro sdxc card and there seems to be some confusion as to which cards will work with that camera in 4k mode, all I can say is if that is what your looking for, this is the card, your search is over!In this world of fake memory cards its a bit of a minefield when you need to purchase one. Im no expert but I do have a rough idea what to look out for. This certainly appears to be genuine and the fit and finish is what you would expect from a genuine sandisk card. I like most people dont have the means to test the capacity, but it has recorded about 50gb of 4k footage without any drama.

The Extreme range from SanDisk does exactly what it states. The card is great for UHD recording and should last along while. These are definitely waterproof, not so sure on shock proof. But, I had a previous iteration of Extreme SanDisk cards and they had no issues in airport scanners and so forth. As with another brand the airport scanner corrupted my SD card. I know it is rare, but it can happen.Great for your mobile phone device and works a treat. Not more else to say, but the speeds are great and you have a sense of security that your content when abroad is in safe hands.Excellent product and great for all your storage requirements.
