The four year is completely enchanted with this. I can see this is something that is going to last for years and possibly even go into the attic for the next generation.Loads of figures and animals to play with. There is a wonderful peacock and currently it sleeps beside her bed. A baby in its own rather strange vehicle. What is also brilliant about this is that there are a number of individual elements, each of which is carefully conceived and thought through. The attention to detail goes beyond anything else on the market. For example the camera has a separate camera strap. At one level that is ridiculous but for me demonstrates the excellence of the build quality, the thought and care that goes into development and the general excellence of Playmobil. There is a penguin enclosure with a host of penguins, plus a park keeper with a bucket of fish to feed them with. The lion enclosure has a thorn fence around as well as a park keeper with a load of bones. There are two men, two women and two children and a baby as well as some excellent penguins, lions and assorted birds and beasts. There is a stall where you can buy postcards and balloons!. Each of the balloons needs to be put together and stands upright, either in the balloon stand or in the had of a child figure. Brilliant.Tips for grown-upsI would recommend making the various items in advance and putting all the stickers on.If you open the box carefully (a knife aroung the inside) it leaves it looking pretty pristine but then it is a few quick snaps and everything goes together. There are ten or so plastic bags with small bits in. On some of them they sort of belong together so I find that opening the individual bags and pouring them onto individual side plates or little dishes helps when putting stuff together. In terms of the time to put stuff together I would allow around 45 minutes. For example getting the labels straight on the bottles is a bit of a bummer.......In fact this is one of the simpler ones I have put together. Really quite enjoyed it.

The Playmobil 6634 City Zoo is a large Playmobil set from the manufacturer’s ‘City Life’ range. On the box it states that the toy set is suitable for ages between 4 and 10 years old. I agree with the starting age of 4 years – but I’d say that it’s not likely to appeal to many children over the age of around 6 (in our experience anyway).WHAT YOU GET:Inside the large box you get the various hard-plastic bits and pieces that make up this detailed Playmobil Zoo set. You also get an A4 sheet of stickers to put on a number of the parts, along with a nicely illustrated instruction manual for the assembly.ASSEMBLY:Putting all of the zoo pieces together for the first time took me around 15 – 20 minutes. There’s lots (and I really mean lots) of bits and pieces to the set. You’ve also got an A4 sheet of stickers to work through which you’ll want to do carefully. However, even though there are so many pieces to the set, the instruction manual that comes with it is very well illustrated, making the whole process reasonably painless.THE ZOO SET:Once the zoo’s been assembled it really does look quite impressive (for a young child’s toy that is). There are tonnes of intricate parts and details to keep your child amazed by it. The lions and pelican have moveable parts, as do the various people it comes with. The turnstile at the zoo’s entrance rotates and the exit gate opens and closes. It really is a very nice set.SUMMARY:All in all we’re very impressed with the Playmobil Zoo Set. There are loads of animals and people included for your kids to play with. There are also tonnes of intricate details and things for the characters to carry etc. It’s strong and sturdy enough to withstand the sort of ‘rigorous’ play that comes with being a four-year-olds toy. The only thing is that there are so many small pieces it’s only a matter of time before they start going missing (and then turning up all over the house!).

Every second, 3.2 Playmobil people are 'born'.Playmobil. Everyone knows that name as the purveyors of plastic figures and a multitude of extras. But how many know those little 3 inch figures are older than you might think, having been around since 1974? And how many know the company that manufacture them began in 1876? Even fewer will know that until his death in 2015, the whole caboodle was owned by one man, Horst Brandstätter?Containing 175 separate pieces, the Playmobil Zoo is part of the huge City Life series and is great fun. It's brilliant for imaginative play, and the two grandchildren make the figures talk to each other. We don't understand a word of it but they know what they're talking about, which is all that matters. For those who understand such things, these characters help with a child's fine motor control skills. It also helps to know what a zoo and its environment is. This isn't just a toy, it's educational, too.Depending on how old the users are, they may need help in putting some of it together, I did, but the end result will be worth it. A word of warning: don't open all the bags at once and get all the pieces out as we did, as some are rather tiny and you'll end up hunting for them. Once connected together, you'll find that the people have moving limbs and the animals (not all of them) can also be posed. Everything here is compatible with other bits and pieces from the series. Actually, it's compatible with anything Playmobil, though a zoo packed with pirates and spacemen might look weird. Then again, that's what imagination is for. This particular set can be added to with another 18 different animals, a children's petting zoo, and a zookeeper's cart.Yes, it might look expensive (and it probably is to many people, but quality costs), but you can't put a price on the enjoyment of your children or grandchildren. Not only that, it keeps them quite, too.

I purchased this for my 4.5 year old cousin. She loved it! There are a number a great features, and if they, like my little cousin, already have Playmobile figures, it's easy to combine with other sets for a big, busy day out at the zoo! With different enclosures, there's a bit of variety which is great. All of the pieces in the picture on the box are in the set so it's as advertised. It took me and another adult (in our 30's) about 1.5 hours to assemble, so think about that if you're purchasing for a child - you might want to open the box and at the very least put the many stickers on first.Pros: with lots of different elements, this set is really good for children with some imagination for story telling play. The attention to detail is great, and with a careful child, this will last for a long time as a great toy.Cons: some of the pieces are very small (like the fish for the zoo keepers to feed to the penguins, or the bones for the lions), so are either not good for age appropriate kids who have younger siblings around, or for careless kids who are prone to losing small things.Overall, I gave this 4*s because there are some elements that are a bit fiddly, but I really don't think that's a reason not to buy this if the kid likes animals at all as it's a great toy (wish I'd had it as a kid!). I'd recommend buying a couple of the extra animal packs to really fill the zoo up - we found that buying an extra enclosure + 3-4 other animal packs pretty much blew this little girl's mind, so well worth it!If you're getting this delivered, keep in mind the size of the box; mine arrived in a typically huge packing box, with the actual Playmobil box being a good metre across.

Tested with some small humans, aged 4 and 6. I haven't used Playmobil in a long time, and I can say that it's certainly improved on how I remember it. The figures are much more detailed and realistic - but retain their simple model design. The people that you get are perfect, I wonder if they are unique to this set. They would also fit in a funfair or circus theme. The animals are even better, very clever designs which are simple, colourful and recognisable. The Zoo itself is made of several separate large structures. These have good detail without being too 'busy', which would detract from the simple Playmobil design style. The favourite among the kids is the penguin enclosure, which after some (not recommended) modifications to prevent leaks was filled with water for extra realism. Obviously all the animals ended up in there (including the lions...), they were having a party or something, apparently it was 'Top Secret!'You get about a dozen animals and half a dozen people, so it's a complete set and not just scenery. Obviously the retail pricetag is high at £50, but considering the build quality and what you get it's not outrageous. This will not fall apart like other playsets, Playmobil lasts a long time in my experience. Personally I think this should be closer to £35 - £40, which it will be in sales.

The Playmobil 6634 City Life Large City Zoo with 11 Animals arrived nicely packaged in cardboard box. Unpacking is straight-forward with stickers for some of the toy parts like signs. Illustrated instruction of how to assemble. The pack took around 15 minutes to put together. Once the set is put together this builds up to a very nice appealing set for children. The various zoo parts make a very nice set and the various animals are of interest such as the penguins and lions. The pens were the animals are kept are nicely constructed and nicely built. The various people make up the are well thought and highly detailed. There are plenty of animals, people, animal pens, turn still and food selling stand that will lend its self to imaginative play. Our five year old grand-son thought that this play set was really great fun and it occupied him for a couple of hours. The set is well built and of a quality construction, i feel that this set is built for longevity and will be around for some time. If considering the purchase I can highly recommend the purchase.

This is an absolute winner. It's not just a zoo (so a few animals in pens) there's so many other things going on that you can create stories from. It's all very much focussed on making things happen, not just old-style 'name the animals then put it all away'. The keepers can feed the animals (and get chased by them!), there are balloons and postcards and tickets to deal with! There's so much you can do, rather than just pointing at animals. My nieces loved it (ages 4 and 6). It was something they could actually play with together without the six year old crying for touch screens. The only caveat I'd mention is there's about an hour's worth of initial assembly required. If your child is over five, you can do some of it together, but expect the boredom of clicking together the small pieces to cause problems after 10 minutes or so. Best to make the pieces up beforehand then let the kids do the fun stuff.

This is a fabulous zoo set with lots of inspiration to play. The are plenty of animals and enclosures to move around and utilise. The penguin pool is a particular favourite with my little one :) I think that she might be a little young (3) to fully play with all the items so I have only given her the larger items so far and intend to add more as she becomes more able. It is quite a job to set up the bits so do allow plenty of (child free) time when you can focus on the instructions and make sure everything is set up correctly. I believe there are extra animals available that can add to your collection which would be great for birthdays/Christmas.

So far so good! Delivery arrived within the estimated time frame and well packaged. Not opened yet as it has been purchased as a Christmas present but from looking at the box there seems to be plenty of interesting things inside including 2 zoo workers and a visiting family of 4 people, penguins plus enclosure, lion lioness and cubs, peacock and even a kiosk to buy souvenirs. The only thing I would say is that I also purchased the playmobil large zoo set 5069 assuming it was an add on set to this zoo, however it contains many similar items including the lion family so is actually an alternative to this set not an add on item.

Like most children my daughter loves the zoo, whether it be visiting, reading about or playing with a toy zoos. This Playmobil large city zoo kit comes complete with zoo animals, keepers and enclosures. The detail is excellent and the parts are durable. Some of the pieces are a little small so this is perhaps not suitable for very young children. My daughter is 3 years old and loves playing with the different pieces and making interesting and sometimes quite bizarre set ups. All in all lots of fun for children (and no doubt some adults too).

25.1.2016

Playmobil sets are known for their high quality, and this is no exception. There's 167 pieces, plus a large sheet of stickers. It's for ages 4-10, though I would recommend the younger of that range. The pieces are of strong, thick plastic. Not suitable for very young children of course - very swallow-able. But from 4 years, an excellent toy that should fire the imagination for many hours. There's loads of characters - both visitors and workers, as well as animals and the zoo buildings (including a large arch for animals to "climb" on.

Wow what a detailed city zoo this is.Different scenarios all within one zooscape. The figures have great detail - the human figures specially are very flexible - able to stand or sit.My absolute favourites are the baby penguins! This really keeps me 4 year old grand daughter very occupied. It is also educational in that we can talk about the animals and where they come fromEasy to put together - altogether a very well designed substantial toy.Even the box is quite substantial - so all the pieces can be kept together in one place.

This is just too adorable and detailed. My 2 year old loves this as do his 6 and 7 year old cousins. There are small bits here that he could chew but I do not allow him to play with it unsupervised and he is getting over that stage anyway. The level of detail is fantastic and the whole zoo is a really good next level toy compared to the simple plastic things he has at the moment. Plenty in the box to play with

21.2.2016

Lots and lots of little bits and pieces to keep your dinky person entertained. This comes in small pieces that need putting together. My daughter of 4 thinks the PlayMobil sets are amazing but my 2year old son wants to put them in his mouth. These sets promote imagination and are Bright colours. They are very well thought out and of lovely quality. Definitely not for little people under 4ish!

We brought this for our daughters 3rd birthday and she loves it! To be honest as parents we love it and the attention to detail is outstanding! The seller was very helpful and delivery didn't even take that long either. We also love the fact that you can add to this by buying additional enclosures and animals - fabulous!
