The Playmobil 5362 City Action Fire Brigade Engine Ladder Unit with Lights and Sounds is an updated version of an earlier model that we bought for our son a couple of years ago. The biggest change with the latest model is the addition of sound effects to go with the flashing lights. Children will love this addition. Parents may be less pleased.The only other significant alteration is the removal of a equipment storage area behind the front seats and its replacement with a second row of seats, allowing the fire engine to carry up to four fire-fighters. As a parent I quite liked this change, as the storage compartment in the previous model was always pretty much dead space.Its also nice to have somewhere to put spare Playmobil figures rather than having them lying around the place and going missing.Other than that the Fire Brigade Engine Ladder Unit represents pretty much business as usual for anyone familiar with Playmobil. On the plus side its well constructed, robust and offers lots of potential for imaginative play. Certainly both my children (3 & 5) love playing with both this and the older version of the same toy.On the downside from the parental point of view, and like all Playmobil sets, its accompanied by lots of smaller pieces that are definitely not suitable for smaller children (less than 3) and can easily go missing. It also requires a significant amount of adult construction prior to play, and some parts are prone to repeatedly falling off and requiring the help of an adult to reattach. I can't remember the number of times I have been asked to reattach the roof/seat/basket/etc. by one of my children.Overall however, it represents good value for money. After two years our previous Fire Brigade Engine Ladder Unit is still in full working order (albeit minus a few smaller accessories) and I would expect this new one to be equally tough. It also continues to get regular playtime, along with all the other Playmobil sets we have acquired in recent years, whilst other, flashier toys fall out of favour and are relegated to the back of the cupboard never to be seen again. Playmobil, along with Lego, is one of those toys that my wife and I don't mind buying for our children because we know how much use and enjoyment they will get from it. This is especially true of the City Action sets, which although less flashy than some of the lines based around spies or pirates, seem to stimulate free, imaginative play far more easily due to their familiarity.Recommended.

This is a cracking little fire engine that’s perfect for any small child that loves imagination playing. It has flashing lights and a really cool American siren sound – note, sadly batteries are not included which really annoys me with these type of toys. Nothing more annoying than giving a child an exciting looking toy only to find it needs batteries and they’re not included – come on Playmobil.The Fire Engine clearly very strong and quality built to last but it does have a few very small pieces so be careful not to leave them around small children. Playmobil do recommend this is unsuitable for any child under the age of 3 years (36 months).The ladder extends pretty high and the roof is removable which is nice feature.You only get the one fire office figure but the engine can seat up to four figures if purchased separately. There are a few other accessories like traffic cones, sweeping brush, fireman’s axe, rope etc. Lots for a small child to sit and play with.Overall I would definitely recommend this classic imagination toy. Its real quality and would still give it five stars despite the lack of batteries.

I wanted to leave a review before this is opened by my son at Christmas.This sold out really quickly last year so got it all early.I completely trust play Mobil toys and it's much better to spend good money on good quality toys like this. I have got him the whole city fire collection for his birthday and Christmas (very lucky boy). I am gonna get rid of his cheaper toys so he only has a few left but better things to play with.I have also got the radio controller for this model (as in picture) this is the new model remote control which is a different model number but fits this fire engine it also costs half the price of the old remote,so make sure if you want it you get the right model which is 6914.The only thing I would say that's not good is it would be nice if the remote had rechargeable battery pack instead of normal AAs. But you can always buy rechargeable ones I guess.

Playmobil toys are robust long lasting and give children hours of fun. My daughter is a big fan of Fireman Sam but toys from that range don't always ooze quality and have been quite poor in the past. As an alternative I thought I would give this engine a go and it hasn't disappointed.This particular toy has an extending ladder and lights and sound and quite a few ancillary parts.The quality of these toys is second to none, we have a number of hand me downs that are years and years old but still in excellent condition. The only thing I would say is that in general these toys have lots of small parts and are not suitable for very young children.Other than that,if you buy into Playmobile you will be buying in to a toy that can be past down through the generations though some of the smaller parts my get misplayed a little on the way.

This is a great product, we love playmobil in this house. We got this for my son for his 3rd birthday and it was a MASSIVE hit! He's played with it so often and so do his friends whenever they come over. There are some fairly small pieces like most playmobil sets and he struggled to put the ladder up initially but it's so well made and will definitely last! It comes with one fireman but we also have the fire station and they are really good to play with together for imaginative and independent play. My little boy loves playing rescuing and putting out fires and will play with this fire engine for at least 45 minutes (far longer than some other toys!).Only problem with playmobil is you want to buy more to add to the play set!

Why didn’t we have toys like this when I was a kid? It’s so unfair that modern toys are as good as this; not only is it colourful and durable but it’s also great fun to play with. The Playmobil brand is known to be a good one too, and there is every sign that this toy will last for ages as it seems to be well put together. There are plenty of moving parts including an extendable ladder which also swivels and I must admit to being quite impressed with this set. It’s worth noting that the 2xAAA batteries that are required for the siren and lights are not included in the box so don’t forget to have some handy when you buy this,and it’s a shame that the pump is actually an accessory and not included too

The seller was first rate however decided to check contents as it is a present for my 4 year old Grandson. The items are not well packed within the manufacturers sealed box. I was amazed at the number of bits that needed assembly before it could be played with. 8 Small bags of assembly bits. I decided I would assemble it, to save my son in law a lot of bother on Christmas day. It took me close on 2 hours, not counting the pieces that are removable for playing with. The instructions were very poor with very small pictures. For the money, quite expensive, I would have expected it to be assembled. You could not give it to a 4 to 6 year old and expect them to unravel the box of bits.

This is a brilliant Playmobil toy that most children will love. It is a fire engine that comes with an extendable ladder and enough space in the cab for four Playmobil characters. Unfortunately there is only one figure supplied with the set, so you may need to supplement it with another set of figures. The fire engine has lights that flash at the touch of a button and has two different sirens which can be easily changed if required. The one downside is the time it took to construct the fire engine. It needed adult assembly as there were many tricky parts to connect together. This is however a fantastic Playmobil set.

Great Playmobil set. All kids want to play with a fire engine from time to time and this a very complete, sturdy set.The ladder can be extended to an appropriated height and the cabin holds 4 fearless firemen. The lights and sounds complement an already very complete and quality toy. Comes with al the necessary accessories rescue missions require.Plenty of adventures to be had. Our son frequently has to rescue trapped victims in his sister's Playmobil doll house.We by the way, bought and added the optional wireless Playmobil RC set, which enhances the play value massively.

I was surprised by quite how large this was when it arrived! I also didn't realise it needed assembling. However, my son absolutely loves it. He was given an extra set if fire men too as the engine doesn't come with a full set he hasn't stopped playing with it since Christmas Day. He has put out every fire in the house. It's great that you can upgrade to a remote control version with an extra kit too. Definitely a great toy and reasonably priced for playmobil.

Fairly sturdy engine. Did not give 5 stars because the basket comes off the ladder too easily. The siren plays when pressed then stops by itself, but the lights just stay on so I am constantly finding them left on, wasting battery life. Would have been nice if they went off after a while like the siren. Otherwise a nice toy and my 3 and 5 year olds love it. Only comes with one fireman so best bought with other fire sets.

This was a present for a 3 year old boy, both him and his sister (6 years old) absolutely love playing with it. Great noise and flashing lights, also comes with nice little accessories. Now thinking about buying the extra firefighters set as there’s plenty of room to fit them in the front - but will also avoid squabbles between brother and sister!

Brought this for a 3 year old playmobil fan and he loves it. Comes with some great assesories and one fireman. The lights and sirens are loved and actually aren't to annoying or loud for the parent to have to endure! The construction of it is pretty easy although the instructions make it out to be more confusing

Got this at a great price for Playmobil and my son adores it. He plays with his uncle's 30 year old one at my parents and he is so impressed that his one has lights and sounds too! I have purchased the extra fire crew as a stocking filler for this christmas so he can add to the fun with a few more firefighters.

Was a Xmas present for my little boy who is 3&1/2 so a little younger than the recommended age. There are lots of small parts but these could be put aside in a bag and put on later. The fire engine is very good quality with great lights and sounds as you'd expect from playmobil.
