We'd held off changing to LED lighting for our kitchen / lounge with about 12 recessed halogen lights after, at great expense, we changed a few of them 4 or 5 years ago, and the light (described as warm white) was garish. Worse still, most of them failed within a year. Finding that there are very few halogen bulbs available now, we decided to try a few LED bulbs again.The tone of these (warm white) bulbs, if anything, is better than the no-name halogen bulbs we have been using for the last year or two. Compared to the halogen bulbs we have in the other fittings, these look less bright from a distance but this seems to be because the light source is slightly more recessed within the bulb - this could be viewed as an advantage because you aren't as dazzled whilst walking through the room.

Superb lights.Excellent quality LED, look good, and the light tone and quality is excellent. So many LEDs out there have only the virtues of energy-and-cost saving as a plus point - I have been consistently disappointed with the quality of light they produce. Not these!I got these as ambient light in the kitchen, together with some 4.6W for more accent lighting. I don't know how they compare with 35W Halogen, but in my kitchen they are every bit as bright as the 20W halogen bulbs in the adjoining hall - I hope these are around when I eventually to switch from Halogen to LED elsewhere throughout the house.

Tried cheaper spot lights which were glaring to the eyes and gave off a poor lighting , these were a bit dearer but what a difference ,they give off a soft lighting are none glare ,well worth paying a little more for a good product. Will purchase more .

They're great, however the mini plunger that we received in order to put them into the light fixture didn't work at all they wouldn't stick on the bulbs!? So we had an absolute mare putting them in, therefore 4 stars.

Great bulbs, nice quality, bright and solid construction...up to expected high quality standards from Phillips. Now taking pride of place in our living room.
