This is my second Parker Urban pen, the first being the fountain pen of the same style which I received as a birthday present about 2 years ago. Because I've got previous experience with the Urban range, the beginning of this review is going to be fairly negative, though it will get better soon, so hang on in there.Compared the fountain pen, this new ballpoint feels cheaper. It is probably the weight difference, and unfortunately, the lightness of the ballpoint lets it down. It just doesn't feel premium. This, as with everything, is a personal thing, as many will find the lightness to be a bonus, but not for me. The other issue is that it is a bit rattly. I'd expect a solid feel, with no rattle, but when moving the pen there is a distinct metallic rattle. But that's it for the negatives. Overall I am happy with this pen. Looks wise, it is gorgeous. Just as good looking as the fountain pen, and the brushed metal grip section is stunning. This ballpoint and the fountain pen are the best-looking pens I have ever owned and would be happy to have the full set.It writes very nicely, too. It has a smooth feeling and consistent ink. One of my issues with the fountain pen is that it can be a bit scratchy, but not the ballpoint. A lovely pen to write with.Overall another great member of the Parker Urban family.

I believe that the test of a ball point pen comes with every day use, then deciding which pen to look for when you need one.....The truth is I have used Parker pens for many years and my favourite one came as part of a set from a very well known bookshop in Cambridge a few decades ago, that is it WAS my ball point of choice now I have a new favourite. The gold rim is just right to fit the niche in my third or is it second finger (the middle one of five) and the muted black barrel sits comfortably between my thumb and palm - it also writes very well - as you would expect from Parker. My previous favourite was a twist to 'open' this one is a press to start so is just that little bit longer and it has a rounder, fuller barrel and the colour scheme makes the pen look something of value - which it is!Recommended.

I'm a big fan of Parker pens as just hitting the right note for the office these days. In the age of austerity, fewer execs seem comfortable pulling out a Mont Blanc pen, and I've certainly noticed a rise in Parker, Cross and similar mid-range brands as a result. This one has a pretty contemporary feel for a Parker and the design is a bit love\hate (check the picture carefully - the blue really is that bright). It's a little lighter than I was expecting, but it does write well and feel comfortable in the hand. As with all Parker ball points refills are easily and cheaply available and you can also switch to the gel refills (which I find are even smoother).Overall, a little bit on the pricey side, but a striking design which delivers that classic Parker durability and dependability.

This is beautifully crafted ball point pen from Parker. Wonderfully weighted for handwriting, its smooth, smart lines, and brushed stainless steel and shiny black shell make this pen stand out from the crowd. Its Parker refill, with parker blue ink, writes smoothly and effortlessly - ideal for the fast handwriter. It never skips a beat, or drops a dot. And won't smudge either. Beautifully presented, the Parker Urban is a moder classic that is lovely to hold. It has a reassuring click to move the nib in and out of the pen. Ideal for placing it in a jacket pocket, handbag, or briefcase. This mid-priced pen is premium quality!

A lovely pen to look at, even better to hold & write with. I admit I have always loved Parker pens - the weight and thickness of this particular pen is just perfect. And of course the refills are just right: correct thickness and always hat superb quality. I wish ?I could write this review by hand! And I like the pushv button design (rather than twist). Means you can start writing with just one hand. A bit expensive, but you get a better pen for the money.

I always liked Parker ballpoint pens growing up and it was a big of a treat to write with one, I think I had one for years that I cherished as it was so much nicer than a plastic transparent pen. It's good to see the brand still making smart, classic ballpoint pens and this one is lovely to write with, smart and smooth to hold, and comes in a nice git box. Perhaps a little bit high at around thirty pounds but perhaps I am out of date with pricing?

Smart, modern design and a rather nice shade of blue - quite a classy looking pen with a decent quality click action. Like most Parkers, it writes well and feels good in the hand. Only downside is it feels a bit lightweight in the hand (dare I say a little plasticky) - I have some other Parkers which feel more weighty and enjoyable to write with. As a gift it looks nice and the presentation box is OK, although not luxurious.

This is a lovely writing instrument which feels weighty in the hand - probably best suited to a smaller hand, in my opinion. The finish is premium - hence the colour name - "premium ebony" and the chiseled barrel is a nice touch. Parker pens are usually special - this one slightly more so. A good gift for most people - you can't go wrong with a pen as a gift, particularly a competitively priced Parker!

Whether due to cost cutting, or a direct result of customer feedback, the weight of the latest twist model is lighter than that of the previous version. It still has some heft to it, but I prefer my older model as it is a real heavyweight (although I probably wouldn't want to write with it all day long). The Parker Urban is a fashionable yet function pen and priced very competitively for what you get.

I thought this pen was really quite elegant and felt very comfortable to write with. Other reviewers have mentioned that it feels a little light, but I'm not so sure about that. It feels like a good weight to me, although I don't like heavy pens. The colour is quite vibrant and I think when you pull it out of your pocket to sign autographs (or whatever) people will say "Nice pen!"

Parker Urban Stainless Steel finish, nice design, minor changes to design from one bought awhile ago. Robust & easier to hold for large hands. Have black finished version as well, though “paint’ wearing off were fingers rub when holding / writing, exposing brass barrel underneath, no issue for me, but may bother others. Pricy, worth searching, but would recommend pen.

Parker need no introduction - you need not look anywhere else if you're after a no-nonsense, quality pen. This particular product is well balanced and feels great in the hand; it's akin to feeling the difference between a professional dart and one of those plastic velcro toys. It arrives in a very nice presentation box with extra detailing on the company's history.

Nice-looking, great quality pen, featuring a metal and plastic casing in matt and gloss black with gold metal trimmings. Not as heavy as older Parker models, which makes it wonderfully balanced in the hand. Comes in a beautiful presentation box, so ideal present. It writes just like any ballpoint Parker.

It has more of a plastic feeling than I expected but after a while, I came to really like it. The clip has scratched the pen as it moves slightly, but that's a minor cosmetic issue. Writes great, would prefer it to be a touch heavier, but is my go-to day to day pen.

This is a nice pen. I wanted the broadness of the grip, and had an IM style one before but fancied a change. This is good, works well, grip is fine, and is unusual enough to attract a bit of interest.
