I purchased this set as an add on item for 4.00. This for me is a pretty good value. There are 8 pens in this package, so that gives me a cost of just about .50 cents each. I kept seeing the commercials for the Ink Joy pens and how quickly they dried and how incredibly smooth they write. i also liked that the pens came in a variety of colors. I ordered the medium. When I got the pens home, I wanted to try then right away. First I noticed they are comfortable in my hand. I like the the grip area near the top of the pen. This helps keep my hand comfortable when I am writing for a long period of time. Also, I noticed the ink comes out very fluid and smooth, without skipping or missed places. The ink flow starts easily and looks nice and dries nice. Since pens seem to "accidentally" walk away from my desk, it doesn't hurt as much when I can find pens at lower prices. Also, I enjoy that this is a pretty color of ink. My five year old loves to have pretty pens for her artwork so some of the pens will definitely be hers. I am also sure my husband will nab one or two of them. I definitely recommend these pens!

I like, no I need for pens to write well, and not bother my fingers when I write all day. Even though I work in front of laptops all week, and some weekends, I'm still a fan of writing on things with a pen - journals, calendars, notebooks, etc.I found this pen in a junk drawer while I was visiting my sister and I kept it. Then I ordered this pack of pens and they work for my writing style. The barrel of the pen is three-sided - different from the 6(?) sided Ticonderoga and Bic pens I grew up writing with.Sure, they skip once in a couple of paragraphs - but you're not buying a Schaeffer, it's a disposable (maybe they'll have refills some day) ink pen that works and is comfortable to write for a couple of hours note-taking,doodling, designing a "thing" you want to build, writing letters, etc.I stopped taking notes on my smart-phone after this pack of pens showed up. I have them planted in all my usual writing spots. However, I still keep my space pen on me as an EDC item - but elsewhere I'm using one of these pens. Oh, I did put a fresh one back in the junk drawer before I left.

I wanted a variety of colored ink pens and so these were just what I was looking for. There are two pens in every color. The pens are also capped on the tip to preserve ink freshness, which I really like. Sadly, a few of the pens were very difficult to get started and for a few minutes I was afraid that the ink had dried out or something. They did eventually come around and start flowing. Some of the pens, at this point, still flow a little on the weak side, but I'm hoping with continued use they will improve. For that reason, I don't think I would purchase such a large pack where there are two of every color. It made me a bit fearful that they might dry out prematurely. I could be wrong, but only time will tell. I am very happy with the colors. There is even brown ink, which is very unusual in most colored ink pens. I was really happy about that. The brown ink pens both flow very nicely and did from the very start. For the price, I still think it is a good purchase.

A waitress at a local restaurant had this pen and I fell in love with it just signing my name on a credit card receipt. Yes they're that good.Smooth uninterrupted line of ink and writes on most any paper surface you need to write on with a pen.The triangle shape is easy to hold and fits well in my fingers. It's consistent and performs a mundane job well.I wish they sold them in larger quantities because mine keep "walking off"!Two slight negatives however. The mold isn't perfect and on a few there's been a line of rough plastic along the length of the pen which is uncomfortable to hold for very long. A little sandpaper fixes this, but it would be nice not to have to do so.The second more minor thing, the cartridge that the ink is in, is black and you can't see the ink level through it. I'd prefer clear to know how much ink is left. These are great pens for an excellent price. Highly recommend for pen snobs!

I love PaperMate Inkjoy pens for the way the pen itself feels when I hold it, and how easy it is to write with. The barrel doesn't cause that weird indent on my middle finger after I use it for a while like some pens do, and it isn't a struggle to press hard enough to get the ink to come out in a decent thickness while writing. It's really smooth and doesn't smear much... but the pens don't last very long!! I am in university and I normally take notes with my tablet, so all I use these pens for is writing in my day planner, and reviewing for tests where I rewrite notes and make cue cards and stuff. That's not a lot of heavy use, but a pen barely lasts me a month. I've had other pens (can't remember brand)where a single blue pen will last me 4+ months of heavy daily use. So, these pens are gonna feel nice and write well, but you'll go through a lot of them.

These are quality pens that write well, are comfortable to hold, don't smear, and are priced very reasonably. There is one drawback for me -- I don't use them continuously, so when I pick one up to write after it's been sitting unused for a few minutes I always have to roll the ball back and forth quickly over a piece of scratch paper a few times to get the ink flowing again. I think the reason this happens is that Paper Mate formulates the ink to be non-smearing, meaning that the ink is formulated to dry very quickly. Quick-drying ink is not an issue as long as the pen is continuously used, but tends to stop the ink flow if the pen sits for a couple of minutes. This is not a big complaint and shouldn't bother anyone at all who uses their pens in a fairly constant manner.Despite my complaint, I would certainly buy these pens again, and I recommend them.

Well there are 20 pens in the package,HOWEVER there is only 10 colors, then a duplicate of those same 10 pens.So just 10 colors, i didn't realize that when i bought them- but its okayNext: anyone complaining that the pens write horribly with bad color: these people dont seem to understand how pens work.ONCE you use them for 10 seconds, the ink covers the ball point- the color is GOOD.Pena perfectly put down color in a even, non splattering, manner.I would say i have one issue; not that it matter for a big pack of pens that costs less then 20$.These are NOT fine tip pens. They write okay, just a little difficult to write ij tight spaces, or if your handwriting is cramped. All in all, excellent product for the money!I would say if buy this product again - but i have two duplicated sets. So i wont be running out if color anytime soon!

I love pens. When my purple pen ran out of ink I quickly needed to find a replacement. I started doing research on colored ballpoint pens because I'm VERY particular about how a ballpoint writes. I wasn't even looking for low-cost pens either, the price doesn't make any difference to me so long as they are reliable and write smoothly. These happened to be, not only wonderful pens, but very affordable! Each color in the package is equally bold and smooth with no breaks in the ink or unnecessary bleeding or splotching. The pen is surprisingly lightweight, but the finger grip is nothing to write home about (the papermate profile has a better grip, if that's any indication)It also has white ink cartridges which might make it difficult to see when ink is running low. I like the clear cartridges but that's really just a personal preference

Paper Mate InkJoy wasn’t a product our family has tried before and with 5 in our family we can fly through pencils and pens in no time!! We are always looking for cost vs quality and this ranks up close to the top, only because we are a larger family and do lots of arts and crafts, journaling, homework, meal-planning, etc. so we would put Sharpie as #1 on our list of favorites bc of all the color choices and tip size options. However, this is another great quality product from Paper-Mate & we purchased this as an add-on item so got more than we bargained for!! We are always trying to find the best quality product for the price, and this exceeded those expectation.I would like to see them branch out to other various products, specifically in the specialized craft & sewing area.

These pens actually surprised me! I was expecting a run-of-the-mill cheesy and cheap ballpoint pen, which made them perfect to acquire as pens my ever-prepared daughter could loan out at school. We were tired of her loaning her fancier school supplies out and never getting them back. Well, I was completely shocked when we tried writing with these and found out that, yes, they have a flimsy FEEL to them, but they write wonderfully well! Enough so that my pen-snob husband was taken aback when I asked him to just give them a try. These are the Modern version of the old-school Paper Mate pens I grew up with, without the ink-skipping, smudging quirks we used to have. They have finally perfected the disposable ballpoint pen! They write smoothly and evenly...the grip is comfortable.

As someone who writes ALOT and loses or finds their pens break all the time, this product is very very good especially considering the price. The color choices are phenomenal, you get a full range of interesting colors (the aqua blue and green are my favorite colors personally). Whilst I haven't had them for too long, I have found that they can be left with the cap off for hours and not dry out which indicates they will not dry out or run out quickly.Delivery was also quick (and free!) and packaging was neat.Only drawback (which is why I didn't rate them 5 stars) is that the grip on the pens is not 100% comfortable when writing with them, but nothing significant enough for me to not buy them.Really happy and would recommend these pens to adults and kids.

These colorful pens were totally affordable, and I feel a lot better now that I have regular, bold pens to fill on my journals, herbal tea formula notebook, diy natural product notebook, and daily planner. I always buy Sharpie markers and gel pens, and realized that I just needed regular ball-point pens that write smoothly. On slick or waterproof paper, these pens don't come out well. On regular paper, they work well, and write continuously and easily with bold colors. I underlined some things in one of my books with somewhat slick, smooth pages, and to my dismay, it all got completely smudged.Overall, these are decent pens for everyday use on normal notebook and looseleaf paper. For other types of paper,or for books with smooth pages, these aren't so good.

This was my first time to purchase the Paper Mate Retractable Ballpoint Pens, Medium Point, Black, Box of 12.The price was good and I had planned to use them as one of my "Sprinkle Kindness" gifts. However, for some reason, the first few pens leaked ink from the top.I notified Amazon of this issue and was credited a full refund and didn't have the hassle of returning them, yeah. Thanks Amazon for your understanding and superb customer service.I would normally give a 5 star, but due to this issue I had to lower it this time.I was surprised to find that each pen tip was coated with a wax like covering to prevent the pens from leaking.Paper Mate products are usually a good purchase and this experiencewon't keep me from supporting this brand.

Maybe I'm the last to know this, but if I'm not... and you're thinking about getting the InkJoy retractable pens they come with a clear tiny plastic cap on the ink point, so my first couple of pens outta the box I thought were defective! I'm sure they cap these so ink doesn't dry up or for possible leaking...Anyway, I've been using them awhile now with no issues, other than having to first scribble something in order to get the ink flowing, but thats a typical thing, once they get going they write smoothly without blots or any other issues. Just wanted to mention the little caps, oh and they just fall off once you start writting no need to remove. Hope that helps.I'm really happy with the pens and the value for the money.

This was such a great deal! As a nurse, I need pens I can count on (IOW, QUALITY) as writing things down is paramount to accurate charting. These always work, on any surface. I bought this particular box because it seems like when I'm at home, I can never find a pen that writes. I always purchased the cheap pack of ball points, (I wont name any brands, but im sure you know the two companies i mean!) but when I went to use them, more often than not, they either didn't work, or stopped working while I was using them. One day it occurred to me that I should stop being so cheap and find a box of the trusty ones I use at work and love so well for their dependability, and found these. These have been worth every penny.
