The cable was purchased to enable improved control of flash lighting with portable Metz hotshoe flash units of SCA 300 & 3000 system type with Leica digital cameras (M8 & M9).The flash units 40-MZ2 & 44-MZ2 can both be used satisfactorily with the cable although, I am not totally satisfied with the 'TTL' setting.Previously I have had a lot of experience using the Metz 44CT series units with medium format Hasselblad CM cameras for synchro-sun/fill-in applications and required to replicate this with the Leicas at weddings and outdoor portraiture assignments. The cable does provide similar results particularly where it communicates with the camera's computer controls to ensure correct shutter
