It's rare that I'm moved to write a review - but with such a low score for such an excellent game I thought this needed redressing. My wife and I have played all of the lego games, and reading the reviews on here I was against getting this one, but my wife persisted and I'm glad she did as bar Star Wars this is the best in the series so far (and far superior to the previous Indy outing).Rather than the complaint that the split screen ruins co-operative play, it's a brilliant move forward, as all previous versions meant that one character moving too far from the other could drag you along with them and make you die if you then fell off a platform, now you can move around with complete freedom, knowing that you're not going to accidentally kill your partner. The complaint that there's no central hub and that it's not obvious what your achievement is, is ridiculous the 'boxes in the warehouse' show you which sub-games have been completed, whether you've achieved True Adventurer on them or not, along with the characters unlocked in that section, the special bricks found, and the percentage acheived - there's never been so much information.Yes the hub is different but there's now effectively two hubs - the warehouse where you choose which section to enter, and the 'village / camp / town' (or where-ever depending on the section you're completing), which is more akin the hubs of old - where you can enter the game that you want to, while at the same time these are areas where you can solve puzzles, complete races etc. in their own right, making the experience more interactive - if anything the old hubs were far more pointless, as while they offered the opportunity to pick up a few studs, they were mainly areas that you had to wander through to find the level that you wanted - now there's so much more to do in the area. It's true that you can't just buy the character anymore, and you have to unlock them before you can buy them - but to me this makes it more part of the game that you do have to work to get them, so get more of a sense of acheivement - if you want to get the characters easily then I'm sure you can just go online and find some cheat codes for them - but to me it's far more fun and fulfilling to unlock them in extra tasks. If you want to replay the same section but with different characters you can do - it's just not called that anymore. In the level creator you can select the level, keep or change the objective of the level (so change it to finding an anubis statue instead of the ark of the covenant or so on), and then select the characters you want to include - so when you play it you get the characters that you chose, plus the original characters you would initially have played it with. What this game offers right the way through is a level of interactivity that we haven't seen before - apart from the warehouse hub everything is part of the game and part of the experience - there's never been quite so much to do.There are obviously changes in this game to the formats we've been used to in the previous lego games - but for me these are all for the better.

As far as Lego adaptations go 'Lego Indiana Jones 2 - The Adventure Continues' is fun just like any other. The overall feel of the game is slightly different to the previous installments but great fun all the same. The main focus of the game is the latest Indy outing 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'. There are three parts to the story each with it's own serpate 'Hub' area. However the original adventures are still there but are shorter than the previous version. The main differences to previous games are the Hub areas and the new split screen function. There is a main menu where players can select a crate each containting one of the stories. Rather than have one main 'Hub' area (Barnett College in the first game)the player has to first select the story they want to play, they will then be taken to a seperate hub where levels can be found in different areas, each hub has several areas based on a location from the corresponding film that merge together nicely. There is also a new split screen mode, when playing on co-op mode if one player ventures too far away from the other the screen will split and move depending on which direction they are heading, this was a feature I did not enjoy, I found it to be too confusing and made it difficult to see where I was going. The treasure chest collecatbles are no longer hidden in levels, once a story level has been completed in order to obtain the chest it has to be replayed in 'Treasure Mode' where you are required to collect baloons or complete certain tasks, aswell as these there are also bonus levels where treauses are awarded. The extras are unlocked by collecting different coloured bricks in the Hub areas and can be bought for studs. The gameplay is much like the original with the addition of a free aim mode which is required to do certain things e.g. latching onto objects with your whip. Players can carry various weapons and objects at one time and are able to switch between them asd they please. One downside to this game is that the levels, especially in the original stories) are ALOT shorter than in the first game, they are also very repetitive, each story basically has one of each kind of level, the usual adventure/puzzle solving sortt of levels, driving levels where players must destory enemy vehicles and boss levels. The game makes up for this with the 'Creator' mode, where the player an create and customise their very own levels and even stories!Overall I gave this game 4/5 stars simply because if you ignore some of the differences then it is still a fantastic addition to the lego franchise and can be equally as fun as the others! Also, watch out for the Super Bonus Levels in each hub if you want to gain some serious studs!

I bought this for my kids (under and over ten years old) and they've had hours and hours and hours of game play with a good variety of difficulty so that they've found it not too easy or too hard. The split-screen camera is vastly improved enabling more than one player at a time to go off and do their own thing on screen without dragging the other player along with them or having to stick in close proximity. The 'Warehouse' view (overview) lets you see overall progress on all the different levels, displayed as crates. There are six main gaming levels of game play: 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'; 'Temple of Doom'; 'The Last Crusade'; 'Crystal Skull' parts 1, 2, and 3. Click onto an unlocked crate (level)and you get another view that shows your progress for that particular episode, telling you how far you've got, how many chapters still need to be discovered and completed, what characters and vehicles you've earned, how many coloured (cheat) bricks you've found and how many bonus treasure chests you've earned. As you enter each of these game levels you are taken to an exquisitely designed world (think 3D animated map with superb graphics) which you explore to find the various chapters and bonuses related to that episode. Just exploring these mini-worlds is interesting enough, especially as you can use unlocked characters and vehicles in it as your game progresses. Some of the vehicles have races to run in order to win further characters or bonuses. There are even aircraft to fly around over your world. I won't spoil you with the details but the last 'Crystal Skull' level has an aircraft that is out of this world ;)Although this is the best game by far Lego hasn't neglected some of the main attractions of their games such as the innocent, child-friendly game play, humour, exploration and puzzle solving, creativity and imagination. As if this wasn't enough this game also has extra game play bonus levels and a section that lets you create your own levels, characters and worlds. You can let your imagination run riot creating your own versions for Indiana or others to face any obstacle, trap or enemy you choose - you design and build it just how you want. There's no reason ever to tire of playing with this game.(You may have noticed by now that much of what I've described is from first-hand experience. OK! I admit it! I've played this too. But that's a dad's privilege, isn't it).

from the moment i discovered lego star wars i was hooked and from then on i eagerly anticipated the next lego installments. however when lego indiana jones 1 came out i was afraid i had made a terrible mistake! it was lacking everything that made lego star wars so fun and engaging. i tried and tried to like it, playing it over and over again until i finally admitted defeat and put it away. as soon as lego batman came out i bought it, hoping that they had exorcised their indiana demons and come good again, thankfully they had and lego batman was also fun and playable.when i found out there was to be a second installment of indiana i shrugged and refused to get excited. normally,as there are very few games i really want, when one comes out i instantly buy it. however, with ratchett and clank coming out and a couple of others i couldnt justify the expense of a game i was sure i wouldnt like. i went to the video store tonight and saw they had this game to rent, i figured i may as well rent it, just to show myself that i was right and it was awful before i could forget all about it. im so glad i rented it and will be buying it as soon as the rental period is up, its awesome :D !!!all the playability and fun from star wars is back. it is easy to navigate, easy to control, the puzzles are slightly tricky and totally engaging and it is just a far superior game to the first one. if you tried the first one and hated it then you totally need to give it another try and even if you thought batman wasnt too good, try this one anyway as its probably even a bit better than that (although, obviously it cant surpass star wars :D).im so pleased that the lego games have got back on track and cant wait for many more :D

I normally play first person shooters and had never even considered a Lego game until my son had loaded an impressive Lego Star Wars game on his Nintendo DS. I was looking up how to solve a puzzle for him on an internet "walkthrough" and noticed the graphics were different on other platforms.I bought him this game as an experiment and I was hugely impressed. The graphics are clear, bright, cheerful and detailed. The action is constant and amusing. The violence is cartoon style. Nobody gets hurt. The characters just break up into Lego pieces. Much of the scenery also breaks up. The sounds coming from the PC during play are very funny. The cut scenes are comic masterpieces based on the films. The Lego characters talk in a sort of mumble and pull faces. It appeals to any age that can play on a PC, young or old. I look forward to him asking me to help! Additionally, two players can co-operate on a split screen. It's great value, too. We've been playing for hours and we are only about a third of the way through. The only downside is that the keyboard controls are awkward, especially for two people. I bought a USB joypad and it transformed the gameplay. In fact, I quickly bought a second joypad, so myself or my son's friends could easily make use of the split screen and play together with him.Of course, now I want the other Lego games on my PC...

This lego game is a bit different from its predicessors - the missions aren't as seperate as before but each chapter has an open area to explore with bonus missions hung off it. Instead of a single (hard to find) red brick per mission, you collect 10 (easier to find) red, green and blue bricks hidden about the play area. Also the minikits don't just make a pretty model to look at - they make a vehicle which can transport you to a bonus level. I play this game with my 5 year old son, who is addicted to the lego series, and he likes it now he's got used to it. I think the change in style threw him initially. The create your own level feature sounded nice but it seems a bit like hard work with the 'cute'UI which has Indy carrying each component into place.

This is a must have in the Lego collection. Having played all the Star Wars with all three of the grandchildren. Bought no 1 Indiana Jones as well (though not as good as the sequel). ID2 is great with more controls and characters, even build your own level and characters. You have to problem solve quite a lot but helpful hints are given. Great to collect the studs and level up and fly jets, drive armoured cars, race motor bikes over ramps BMX style, detsroy library shelves etc and cars in a classic American Ant Hill Mob style level. Never had so much fun in a long time, as I usually do not play many games, but this is THE exception. This is addictive. Go and buy and join the fun!

Bought this game for the PS3 as have enjoyed all the Lego games for PS2.It is the usual blend of humour, and ingenuity. Clever little set pieces to get you to create stuff. The problem I found now on the PS3, is that due to its advanced nature, the scenes can be so much bigger there is so much to do, each level takes longer. On the PS2 games, you could do a level in ten minutes, on this it can be half an hour.Is that a bad thing? It can be, as the boredom repetitive factor comes in. O rmaybe we are just getting tired of the same old Lego formula games. But you should not hold that against this game really, the graphics are brilliant, and it keeps the kids quiet for hours!

Indy 2 arrived at the door a few weeks ago and is simply awesome. The split screen is cool and for the first time you don't have to drag other players along with you. Great to see the same old humour included, and brief appearances of characters from other Lego adventures. I know some reviewers have bagged it, but I can't see why. You get exactaly what you expect, it's Lego with attitude!! If you want state of the art, real-life, high-def graphics and complex character development then buy something else! If you just want to have some hard case fun with a bit of challenge get this. It's great!

Ace game and this was a great price too. The freeplay, the split screens and the videos make this a must for Indiana Jones fans. Thanks LEGO for a game for kids that is not simply splattering people and has touches of humour for everyone. We had taken the kids to Cambridge museum of anthropology a few weeks before Christmas and were amazed to find it featured in the game!! It seems to run reasonably well on the PC which has a chunky graphics card although we have had a few freezes. Hopefully, we wont get more as the gameplay increases in size!

I bought this game for my 10 year old son, who is mad on Lego products. It is one in a long series of games since the original Lego star wars games. While it lacks the kudos of the star wars brand it was well used by my son and he kept using this until he completed all of the levels. My only criticism of this style of game is that it does not have a long use like some of the better online games and basically falls into the category of sell on when you complete the levels as no one seems to go back to this game after it is completed.

7.8.2012

I personally was put off buying this game after reading a few bad reviews. However I ordered it as my 9 year old son was desperate for this as a birthday gift. My son it has to be said is very adept at the PS3 (unlike me) and change does not faze him at all. He loves this game !! He likes that it is different and has a few new features and is enjoying it just as much if not more than the original Indiana Jones game. If your son or daughter wants this game then please do give it a go.

It has 5 very short levels per 6 episodes. They don't talk due to early stages of lego games development. The hub levels when you find the story levels are quite big with lots to find 10x red, blue and green bricks and also about 10 characters and 7+ vehicle's and 10x gold chest to find per hub level and there is 6 total. Also when 100% you get a bonus leven to do where you smash everything to get a million or so studsit's a great game keep you busy for a few hours

This new "cleanup" of the game is a bit different from the previous Lego games. I guess that if it had the same game flow it would be boring to repeat some of the previous episodes again...The game, as usual, is really amusing, with lots os jokes throughout the in-game videos. There are a lot of new characters and the bonus levels are a plus.It doesn't get a 5* just because it has "freezed" on my XBOX a couple of times...

7.2.2014

This game fits in perfectly with the rest of the Lego video games. It's fun to play, full of extras to discover and unlock, has some great, amusing cutscenes and runs really well. I've been a fan of Indiana Jones for years, so to me, this was going to be great fun anyway, but even those that are new to the series will enjoy it due to the lush, varied environments and the typical Lego elements.
