AVG have now confirmed what we all knew: there never was any virus in the Lego Batman 2.They've released updated virus definitions this week, and the software now claims it was "a false alarm".So I can now give a better review: (even though I'm only about 10% into the game)Better than the first Batman.Better than Indy.Better than PiratesBetter than Harry.Better than Star.... ok, maybe not as good as the Star Wars games.Gotham is HUGE.You can now save the game mid-level at a few checkpoints. The new suits are great. And they're now multi-purpose. E.g. the "Power Suit" can demolish silver objects AND is a strong suit.Having cutscenes with voices is a new idea for Lego games.I guess they were running out of visual jokes. And it helps explain the plot better. The voice acting is spot-on for the characters, and the dialogue allows them to cram in more comedy.(Like Robin swooning after Superman, and Batman having to tell him "We're superheroes! We don't need to keep calling Superman!")And you can play as Superman: he really can fly. And use heat vision on gold objects, and freeze with his breath, and toxic gas doesn't hurt him...Once I get to Free Play, I'm going to be Superman A LOT.The Batcar is now like "proper" driving game, as opposed to the top-down camera angle approach of the first Batman. There's a lot more new twists. I could go on. But I'll leave some of the surprises for you to find.Oh, and it includes a trailer for the next franchise.... Lego Lord of the Rings.-MB

“Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes” is a Lego action-adventure videogame that serves as a sequel to “Lego Batman: The Videogame”. This game offers an open-world environment, in which players can explore Gotham City. There are 70 playable characters to choose from (you unlock them as you proceed) – and you can select from a wide range of superheroes and villains, from Superman, the Flash, and Wonder Woman to Joker, Penguin and Lex Luthor. For the first time in a Lego videogame, there is dialogue. And, unlike the first game, you can opt for 2-player cooperative play. The story concerns Lex Luthor breaking the Joker out of Arkham Asylum, who quickly releases all of the other villains. So Batman and Robin are in hot pursuit … but, finding themselves in a tricky situation, Superman arrives to help out the Dynamic Duo! Luthor heads off to Metropolis to cause havoc, and – using kryptonite – weakens Superman. So the Justice League are called in, and there’s a big show down between the heroes and villains. This is a really fun game – although in no way serious or complex. Yet it is well made, and the quality of the graphics, game-play, and music is fantastic. It’s a game that can be enjoyed by children and adults. You don’t need to have played the first game in order to understand this one – but if you played the first and liked it, I think you’ll be impressed at how this instalment is an all-round improvement.

My oldest child started out light on the really young kids games, like Dora-themed stuff, but quickly became a huge fan of Sports Resort. I didn't really know where to go from there, cos we had lots of fun playing together, and I read some research (I say read, but it was actually a TED talks documentary) on the benefits of parents playing with their kids. Yes, even video games! I decided to try the Lego games, as ,sure, there's violence in them, but it's really well managed for younger kids, and actually pretty cute when the lego characters fall apart. There's continuous game play, as in the player never really 'dies', they just get put back together a few seconds later and carry on playing,so that's a good feature for younger kids (6-8) that might get frustrated by the 'game over - continue?' style of tougher games like Super Mario. Still, there's enough gameplay challenge in the lego games in general to keep an adult - well, me anyway - interested in playing along, with some great puzzles to solve and strategies for defeating boss level characters. The lego-style parody of the movies' plot lines and cutscenes are hilarious, and keep all ages amused. So, we cleaned out the Star Wars Saga games, the Indiana Jones game and

A great puzzle game with a good storyline and cutscenes, lots of humour, awesome graphics and good replayability.Gameplay and fun is on par with previous Lego video games, but the best part is the side missions, exploring Gotham City. Graphics are a quantum level above previous games. Lots of puzzles using Batman and Robins special abilities to climb skyscrapers, solving problems along the way - a vertigo-inducing experience in places. Falling doesn't hurt your character, but it feels like really falling. One memorable quest involves jumping off a skyscraper to glide all the way across a park to your goal.Lots of different challenges - As well as puzzles, you can race planes, helicopters, boats and cars. Or just fly around looking at the scenery. And smash stuff up :-)I feel it's more child-friendly as there's really no consequence to "dying" - You just lose a few studs and respawn in the same place as you "died".

Now the 3DS has been put for a while, there are some real bargains to be had when it comes to games. This is certainly a title to consider if you didn't get round to playing it on release. This is my first "Lego" game and I have really enjoyed it. The story line and cut scenes are full of humour and the game mechanics are simple yet solid. Even when you have completed the story mode, there is still a lot of stuff to be done. Revisiting the levels with different characters allows you to open up areas locked off during the single player game. Each of the many characters has different abilities, such as Superman's strength, which makes revisiting completes stages with newly unlocked characters worth while. This is one of the few games that I have kept playing after finishing the main story. At this price it is well worth picking up a copy for an amusing romp through Legoland Gotham City.

I bought this game but was a little sceptical at first because I thought they had made Lego Games too modernised. How wrong I was!!! This is one of the best games Ive played. The way you can explore Gotham City is amazing and it's huge! There are only a few annoying little things in the game:If you fly as i.e Superman in free roam, the camera angles aren't amazing sometimes. The levels are to long. One of the levels took me 30mins! It wouldn't be to bad if there would be lots of levels BUT the developers have chopped the amount of levels by about quarter. The story is a bit lame. Sorry. I didn't really like it because you spent half of the levels taking down (SPOILER!)the massive joker robot (SPOILER!)But the rest of the game is perfect. Overall, this game is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Other than a bit of going-round-the-houses in Gotham City trying to find my next destination, I found Lego Batman 2 to be far less confusing than the original Lego Batman. The introduction of Superman to do his thing in helping the fearless duo is a big bonus: X-ray vision, flying and super-heated eye beams! As with all Lego games, the humour's wonderful: I particularly enjoy watching them teetering along a wire slung between buildings. Most of the violence consists of pounding the scenery to atoms to collect bonuses, and if either of our heroes dies then he's instantly recreated. The game runs well on my Windows Vista laptop with attached wireless game controller.(I've found in the past that Lego video games don't work well using keyboard controls.)

Great game, The first free - roaming lego game available on the WII platform. One thing that could of been improved was the amount of levels and save points. I did not feel there were enough save points to be a 5/5 rating. Therefore i was up most nights searching for one. However, The gameplay and feel of it all was excellent and i have to say it has been one of the funniest lego story lines i have ever seen. Another point is that they could of made the bridges interlinked so that you didn't need a loading screen every time you crossed, Like the PS3 and Xbox 360 version. Otherwise it would have been a 5/5. Also when in flight, Supermans control is not as smooth as i would of liked, and i struggled to stop him flying into things. Thank You

This game is excellent my son loves it. But unfortunately the one I ordered a month ago from amazon. Still hasn't arrived. You'd think that with all that money they save by tax evasion, they could despatch a product in a timely manner. But no.So my son has to keep visiting his cousin to play this game, until one day maybe, his will finally arrive.Buy the game from elsewhere if you wish to play it soon. This is no slight on the game, as my son enjoys the entire Lego series. Just amazons tawdry service. Apparently, Play.com can despatch, and deliver this item in the same week. Usually within a working week of five days. Rather than one calendar month and counting.

My son aged 8 has had this in his DS for a month, he has played it and played it and played it, then when he finished he started all over again. In fact as I write on this computer he is stretched out on the sofa DS in hand. Unfortunately for my son, my wife rations it's use which can lead to a few shouty moments. My daughter aged 4 has discovered that my wife has her own DS and has managed to get hold of my sons old Peppa Pig.I know, I am a bad parent, I know that when my wife is away I let the children play on them, but only for a short time so I can read the paper, including supplements.Just wait till we get the Wii U!Great game full marks.

I've played all Lego games (excepting Pirates of the Caribbean) and this is my least favourite. It misses an established plot to follow and therefore meanders. Plus without the plot queues it is easy to get a bit lost. After finishing the game and only being 21% complete I felt it was going to be a bit of a drag to finish the game - previously I've found it fun. The issue is that you then have to keep replaying the game as it is not apparent which characters are where and how you find and unlock them. This makes the game a little tedious. Plus not knowing all the minor Marvel characters there are a lot of 'rules' to remember.

The LEGO games all follow a successful pattern of fun gameplay, heaps of characters, laugh out loud humour and massive replay value. We've seen it with the likes of Harry Potter, Star Wars and LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes delivers to the same high standards.Things are kept fresh from the first LEGO Batman installment with the introduction of different abilities and new characters like Cyborg, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor and Superman. This is a worthwhile purchase on Nintendo DS because of the hours upon hours of fun it provides.

This may look like a child's game but it certainly is not. My wife and I are not very experienced gamers but this one has got enough challenges to keep us on our toes and to move us along the experience scale. The game is best played by two players although initially the split screen effect does cause problems. After a while and with good communication between the players this is easily overcome.Well worthwhile getting and this was a follow up to 'City Undercover' which was an excellent game in it's own right.

Lego Batman 2 is a great game in a very tired lego gaming franchise. It doesn't breath new life into the format but it can be enjoyed if you give it the time. Has just enough going for it to see you through.Playing co-op with one person having the gamepad and another a wii mote and tv is great fun.I recommend this is if you've finished the superior Lego City: undercover and are looking for more of the same.Ps. No issues found with the games save function.

I have played a lot of Lego games and have enjoyed a majority of them. We tend to complete them to 100% so we spend a lot of time on the map collecting the gold bricks. I have to say that the map area is very big and can get very confusing, meaning I get a bit bored. It is a good day but think there could have been better features. Definitely play if you have played Lego before, but probably wouldn't recommend it as a first Lego game :) hope this helps!
