I've tried a couple of this type of ergonomicly enhanced gel cushioned rest for your wrists to rest on at a keyboard over the years. This is a good model, full sized next to a standard keyboard and with three shaped sections although, in my experience, it's really supportive no matter where in the pad you place your wrists.Does it help? Yes, for me, with arthritis and subluxing thumbs it definitely is a help. It's not a wonder cure product but then, it doesn't claim to be. It's just an honest little addition to your desktop set up that will reduce pressure and tention in your hands, wrists and arms.If you're at the keyboard for prolonged periods of time then I'd very much recommend you use one of these.I've had one as part of the pc set up for a long time and its always proved a wise investment. It's not the cheapest model or the most expensive out there. It's also not the squidgiest but that's great because it isn't a fidget distraction it's simply a shaped firm gel hold bar to take the strain out of your hands and shoulders when typing.

This is another great product from Kensington and is ideal for use if you have arthritis or want to reduce risk of repetitive strain injury (RSI). The mouse pad is a good size, not too big or small, and my wrist sits comfortably on the gel pad and gives me free movement of the mouse. Unless you’ve used one of these type of mats before I don’t think you realise what a difference it can make to comfort and muscle fatigue. The mat works well, with the shiny surface allowing the free and accurate movement of my mouse. I use an Evoluent vertical mouse and it works very well, with no loss of speed or accuracy, in fact I think this Kensington mat performs better than my old traditional flat mouse pad.The Kensington mat is well made and will last for many many years and the material can easily be wiped clean to keep in pristine condition. This mat is good value and well worth the small investment to reduce wrist strain, meets Display Screen Equipment (DSE) work requirements, reduce fatigue and improve comfort. Highly recommended.

If you use a wrist rest with a fabric cover, you'll know that over time they get dirty and unpleasant to use as they rub skin cells off your hands. As you can't wash them, you have to replace them, which is where I find myself - replacing another Kensington wrist rest. This new rest is more sculpted than my old one, which had smoother curves, and initially at least, is somewhat firmer. I hope over time that it will soften off, as I'm currently finding that the extra pressure on my hands is less comfortable than with the old one.Another difference is that the base of this wrist rest is soft and flexible, with a criss-cross pattern that grips the desk well.As someone who uses a keyboard all day long,I can recommend a wrist rest, as it allows your wrists to relax when typing for long periods, reducing the chance of aches and pains developing. These Kensington ones are a little dearer than others you may find, but the foam inside is denser than others I've tried and they last a long time.

This 'Kensington Ergonomic Comfort Foam Keyboard Wrist Rest with Wrist Support Pad - 458 x 36 x 85 mm - Black (62383) ' is a slightly odd looking gel wrist support, designed to protect your wrists from the edge of your desk, while promoting good hand positioning while typing. The gel portions are in three sections on this wrist rest, which I was unsure about when I first saw it but which actually does work well for me. There are two lumps for each wrist on the qwerty keyboard, and an additional lump for underneath the numerical keyboard. The design being thus, I would say that it will suit people who touch type better than those who hunt and peck,as it needs the arms to stay pretty much in place for you to get the full benefit from it.The gel is firmer than that in other supports I have tested, but not excessively so, and it definitely promotes keeping your wrists at an ergonomic angle while typing.Good price and good product, although probably best for touch typists.

I can't fault this item for price, design, quality, appearance or durability. It is a solid item and it performs. The reason I'm only giving it 4* is that it's higher than my actual work keyboard, despite my using the little legs to elevate it to the max. Therefore, whilst I do get some support, and whilst it's certainly more comfortable and better than not having a support at all, I find there's some strain on my inner wrist areas, directly before the palms of my hands. That's only one I've been using this for an hour or so, but as I work 2.5hrs without any breaks, I am finding that I have to use it, then put it aside, then use it again. Yes, I could ask for a different keyboard, but work won't allow it,as this one is entirely functional. This is a much taller gel pad than I've had before, even by this brand itself, so I do wonder why it's been made so high - will it squash down a little over time? Maybe, so I may update the review idc.

Although I have one main computer I have a number of others which I use regularly. They have different characteristics in their shapes, including the height of their keyboards. This wrist rest is designed to cope with exactly that scenario as it can easily (and quickly) be altered to suit different support heights. The regular gel wrist pad has a good fabric-topped surface so is pleasant to use over extended periods, and for the lowest height setting it can be laid directly onto the desktop alone. By using the supplied plastic frame underneath the gel, the overall height can be increased to cope with higher keyboards. It is a simple and effective way of being able to cope with different needs but with a single product which makes it a good choice for people in my own situation with more than one keyboard, but also for those looking to find a single product which is suitable in an office where multiple requirements needs to be satisfied.

This is a great wrist rest and is ideal for my particular keyboard (I use a Goldtouch split keyboard, which I angle for typing comfort). I’ve had the Goldtouch wrist rests before which are separate for each wrist, but didn’t get on with those at all. This Kensington one however, ticks all the right boxes; it’s a good height and is weighty enough not to move when touch-typing on the keyboard. The gel wrist rests are comfortable and I didn’t find that the harder plastic it sits in was noticeable in use or caused any issues (as some other reviewers found). The Kensington Ergonomic Gel Keyboard Wrist Rest is well made and will last for many many years and the material can easily be wiped clean to keep in pristine condition. This wrist rest is good value and well worth the small investment to reduce wrist strain, meets Display Screen Equipment (DSE) work requirements, reduce fatigue and improve comfort. Highly recommended.

For many people the Kensington brand name is perhaps still mainly associated with the computer security lock system that bears the company's name, but Kensington itself has actually been part of ACCO Brands – the office products manufacturer - for many years, and it now produces quite a wide range different office/computer related items these days. This Gel Keyboard Wrist Rest is one of the most comfortable products of it's type that I have used so far, and it is a simple yet very ergonomic design. The height of this rest is adjustable to allow your wrist to keep to the correct position and this may help to prevent repetitive strain injuries.Currently a little under fifteen pounds from Amazon this is a well made and thoughtfully designed product that represents decent value at the current price. I have used it for a week or so and have found it to be both comfortable and effective – five stars for function and value.

I have recently suffered from very painful RSI; a gel support for a keyboard made a huge difference. I didn’t really consider a support for mouse use but actually this has made even more of a difference – clearly one of the reasons my right hand hurt more than the left was because of my mouse. The fact that this includes a mouse mat ensures that the wrist is in the correct position for each click, which has reduced the pain from first installation/use and I can feel the discomfort diminishing daily, to the extent I am no longer using a thumb/wrist support any more. The cover is a nylon-style fabric and catches finger nails, so that is something I would like to see changed in the future. But it doesn’t cause any chaffing of skin and the mouse moves smoothly over the surface, so everything else is great. If you suffer from RSI, or even just want to support your wrist as a preventative measure, do consider this.

I must give kudos to Kensington's product marketing and design departments. I mean whoever came up with this whole adjustable thing is an absolute pure genius. And the technical writing departments, my god they're even better. Instructions for adjusting this wrist rest is like some sort of a logic test. Where they give you a some shapes and asked which is the odd one out?So the rest comes with a base and adjusting to separate the best from the wrist rest flip the best and the wrist rest is now smidgen higher or lower. However I think the marketing department genius goes even further. There's a hidden adjustment setting, simply remove the base and have an even lower height. There you have it a wrist rest with 3-way height adjustment.Oh yeah,as a wrist rest it's okay, firm but comfortable and with a nice material cover. Nothing bad here just does the job.

This is a very high quality product, it's really well made and you can see that this is going to last you a very very long time. I've been using this brand in the office for many years and they are still as good as when we first got it years ago, so I expect the same of this. This particular wrist rest has given me an extremely comfortable surface on which to rest. I do tend to suffer with sore hands after using a mouse for extended periods and do get some wrist strain, and this definitely does help to alleviate this. This won't suit everybody because it really does depend on how you position your hands. .. I really like this and find it very comfortable whereas my son,who uses my computer really doesn't like it at all, .. so comfort is going to be a very individual thing. However in terms of quality this really is top notch.

This Kensington Ergonomic Gel Keyboard Wrist Rest sits solidly on my glass top desk in front of my keyboard. It doesn't slip while in use and only really moves if I intentionally shove it or lift it. On the whole its very comfortable to use, particularly if I'm typing longer documents on a word processor. My hands and arms don't fatigue anything like as quickly as when not using it. The only small annoying point for me is that there's a gap in the gel padding between the area of the main keyboard and the number pad. For me this means I occasionally jog my wrist when my right had moves between them. Apart from the saving on a small amount of padded gel, this gap doesn't appear to have any benefit to me.Only the slight jog annoyance. That aside though its well worth the money and does a good job in all other respects.

This wrist rest can be used with a full sized keyboard, where the pads support either two handed typists or if you are using the numerical keypad, as well as a ten-keyless keyboard and then with a mouse. So it's very versatile. It's smooth, wipes clean, and is firm enough, with enough give to support rather than resist your wrists or palms. As wrist rests go, it ticks the boxes. It's curvy design also adds some flair to the desktop, which is mostly angles. The only concern I have is that the outer casing causes a recessed lip. This attracts small particles of debris (mostly biscuit I imagine) which previously made their way to the keyboard shelf, out of sight (and mind, to be honest).Perhaps that's an advantage to some. Either way, this is a comfortable and durable wrist rest from Kensington.

Kensington Wrist Support Pad - Black (22701)I am a touch-typer, so already have an elevated wrist position that keeps the wrists in a fairly natural position rather than with an exaggerated angle that can cause strain. This wrist rest means I can rest my wrists between typing without having to drop them all the way down to the desk in that exaggerated angle. I can also type with my forearms resting on the wrist rest, saving strain on my arms and shoulders. In addition, I can also rest my elbows on the wrist rest (as you get older, everything starts to ache, and elbow pain when leaning forward on the desk has bothered me more and more over the past decade). The cushioning is really welcome. For sale at the time of writing this review at £14.70 (RRP £15).

I am currently suffering from a particularly painful bout of RSI and thought I would try out this wrist support to see if it could help alleviate some of the symptoms. Unfortunately, despite being height adjustable (to +/- 8mm by a simple flip over of the base) I cannot get to the correct height to type on my small Apple keyboard. It would work well if I was still using a larger depth keyboard, but this wrist support leaves my wrists much too high, even when at the lower 30mm height, rather than the 38mm option. In summary, although this does not work for me with my keyboard, it is otherwise a well-made item with a firm gel insert that is unlikely to let you down in use. The flip over design is good, just does not accommodate my very slimline keyboard.
