For many people the Kensington brand name is perhaps still mainly associated with the computer security lock system that bears the company's name, but Kensington itself has actually been part of ACCO Brands – the office products manufacturer - for many years, and it now produces quite a wide range different office/computer related items these days. This Gel Keyboard Wrist Rest is one of the most comfortable products of it's type that I have used so far, and it is a simple yet very ergonomic design. The height of this rest is adjustable to allow your wrist to keep to the correct position and this may help to prevent repetitive strain injuries.Currently a little under fifteen pounds from Amazon this is a well made and thoughtfully designed product that represents decent value at the current price. I have used it for a week or so and have found it to be both comfortable and effective – five stars for function and value.

I must give kudos to Kensington's product marketing and design departments. I mean whoever came up with this whole adjustable thing is an absolute pure genius. And the technical writing departments, my god they're even better. Instructions for adjusting this wrist rest is like some sort of a logic test. Where they give you a some shapes and asked which is the odd one out?So the rest comes with a base and adjusting to separate the best from the wrist rest flip the best and the wrist rest is now smidgen higher or lower. However I think the marketing department genius goes even further. There's a hidden adjustment setting, simply remove the base and have an even lower height. There you have it a wrist rest with 3-way height adjustment.Oh yeah,as a wrist rest it's okay, firm but comfortable and with a nice material cover. Nothing bad here just does the job.

This Kensington Ergonomic Gel Keyboard Wrist Rest sits solidly on my glass top desk in front of my keyboard. It doesn't slip while in use and only really moves if I intentionally shove it or lift it. On the whole its very comfortable to use, particularly if I'm typing longer documents on a word processor. My hands and arms don't fatigue anything like as quickly as when not using it. The only small annoying point for me is that there's a gap in the gel padding between the area of the main keyboard and the number pad. For me this means I occasionally jog my wrist when my right had moves between them. Apart from the saving on a small amount of padded gel, this gap doesn't appear to have any benefit to me.Only the slight jog annoyance. That aside though its well worth the money and does a good job in all other respects.

Kensington Wrist Support Pad - Black (22701)I am a touch-typer, so already have an elevated wrist position that keeps the wrists in a fairly natural position rather than with an exaggerated angle that can cause strain. This wrist rest means I can rest my wrists between typing without having to drop them all the way down to the desk in that exaggerated angle. I can also type with my forearms resting on the wrist rest, saving strain on my arms and shoulders. In addition, I can also rest my elbows on the wrist rest (as you get older, everything starts to ache, and elbow pain when leaning forward on the desk has bothered me more and more over the past decade). The cushioning is really welcome. For sale at the time of writing this review at £14.70 (RRP £15).

I am currently suffering from a particularly painful bout of RSI and thought I would try out this wrist support to see if it could help alleviate some of the symptoms. Unfortunately, despite being height adjustable (to +/- 8mm by a simple flip over of the base) I cannot get to the correct height to type on my small Apple keyboard. It would work well if I was still using a larger depth keyboard, but this wrist support leaves my wrists much too high, even when at the lower 30mm height, rather than the 38mm option. In summary, although this does not work for me with my keyboard, it is otherwise a well-made item with a firm gel insert that is unlikely to let you down in use. The flip over design is good, just does not accommodate my very slimline keyboard.

This seems oddly designed when you first receive it, but actually works well as the pads are shaped to be in the best position for your wrists as you type on your keyboard. This wrist support fits along the full front length of a standard size keyboard that includes a number pad. The pads are firm but comfortable and smooth, so they don't rub your skin and it has a non slip base. It is covered with a soft neoprene material, which means you can move your wrists without getting rub marks. The only issue I have with it, is that it is a little bit thick and quite high, especially for some of the thinner keyboards that are becoming more common. Other than that,it is a good comfortable rest and is very reasonably priced at just over £13.

In my opinion, keyboard wrist rests are a bit like Marmite. Granted, it probably doesn't elicit as strong a feeling as love or hate however, some people seem to like using them and others, not so much. This particular keyboard wrist rest is filled with foam and whilst it feels fairly firm, it is not quite as firm as the gel filled version. Having said that, it does provide a decent amount of support to the wrists. One slight negative comment I have is that the wrist rest is quite thick (close to 4cm) and accordingly, if you have a slimline keyboard, this would probably be more uncomfortable that not using any form of support. So make sure you measure your keyboard before you buy,to make sure it would be suitable.

My last keyboard wrist rest was that bit too high and, although I persevered with it it eventually got thrown out and not replaced - until now, that is. This black support pad with lumps and bumps in all the right places and exactly the right height for my use is excellent and so easy to recommend.I noticed recently that I was getting pains in my thumb joints so this arrived at just the right time and I can already feel the benefit with the pains reducing!Delivered in a super-large box (which you could use for any number of things including a dog's bed), it is contained in its own plastic covered packaging - it retains its shape very well both in transit and in use.A very good product, try it!

The wrist rest is very comfortable. My wife, as a more frequent mouse user than me, said it was the first wrist rest she had ever been happy with; normally she is very conscious of the gel, but not with this one.The rim is raised all round the mat; I’ve never seen a mat like this before. When the mouse comes up to the edge, you can’t move it any further, but this is compensated for by the large surface area. The top is an excellent surface - very smooth, giving good movement. Unfortunately the bottom is smooth as well, with no sticky backing, so it sometimes moves about a bit on the desk. The smooth surface may mean that the mat doesn’t last as long as some others, but only time will tell.

It's quality. The foam is firm and, while I imagine it will give with use, it looks like it will last. The rubber base keeps it firmly seated and the fabric cover is comfortable. I ordered from Cartridge Point via Amazon and the item arrived promptly and well-packaged.You should note that the given dimensions (59 x 15cm) are those of the packaging, not the item: rather misleading. Its approximate size is 44 x 8 x 2.5cm. I bought the item in hopes it would serve as a keyboard and mouse rest on my compact keyboard shelf (which is too small for an additional mouse pad/rest). I won't be returning it as I can use it at another machine but this is a glaring oversight.

This is a narrow rectangular gel wrist test which is useful for those suffering from RSI. It is surprisingly heavy which means that it will stay put and the gel ensures that the wrists are comfortably supported whilst using a keypad. The adjustable height feature means that the base can be removed (so two heights in total) and a negative with this product is that it is that the height is not graduated: to put it simply, it is a rectangular gel cushion. The wrist pad is covered in an easy to clean but hard wearing fabric. However, I do sense this will wear over time. Nevertheless, this product is amazingly good value for money - only £14.70 (Amazon October 2018)

This gel wrist rest is a slightly unusual shape, with a distinct 'neck' between the part that goes in front of the main keyboard and the bit in front of the number pad (not sure what the benefit of this is?). It's also height adjustable - the base can be adjusted between 30 and 38 mm and removed altogether to make it lower again. The fabric is smooth and didn't produce any friction but as with all fabric wrist rests and mouse pads, it will wear and stain over time. The pad is comfortable and does mould itself around the wrist but is also firm enough to give support and heavy enough not to slide around the desk. A good product for the price.

The pad is rather large, I'd prefer a separate mouse rest as my mouse is not that close to the keyboard for room to move it.The pad is quite cool in winter, too cool in the early morning, but it warms up.The height adjustable is achieved by simply turning the plastic base over. However the rim is half the size now and the gel part won't stay in place.Who designed and tested this?It could be useful for people who type a lot, but I need something to go over the sharp edge of my Ikea desk ( I sanded off the sharp bits). For a wrist support, a simple cheap towelling tennis wrist support works just as well.

I use this with a laptop and find that the three individual segments mean I have to keep my hands strategically placed or else they fall into the dips. The dips make this a bind to use. I'd prefer a long single strip myself. Perhaps it's intended for people who have a keyboard.Quality-wise it's pretty much perfect. Sturdy unit and the gel pads seem strong.I enjoy the feel of it and appreciate the cushioning it provides. It's far better than the raw table top. When this wears out, I'll buy another from Kensington but it'll be a single strip one.... unless I've got used to the three pads by then.
