3M(TM) Leatherette Gel Keyboard Wrist-Rest - Black - 48.2cm x 7.1cm x 2cmThe wrist rest. There are a lot of these about and I have tried many but none have been as comfortable as this one.The problemOver the years I must have input many millions of characters on keyboards and every type and its caused me to get wrist joint problems. This includes numbness in the arm muscles, stiffness in the wrist joint and pain in my fingers. It has got progressively worse as I have got older. Owning a computer business has not helped. The solution. After seeing a consultant who immediately said to me ‘you use keyboards a lot’ on examination of my joints and hearing my symptoms. The solution was steroid injections into the joints and a visit to physiotherapy about posture, monitor height and hand position.I ended up with a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard and a larger more expensive Logitech mouse (better deign for the hand), plus a new office chair and monitor rest. This cured the problem but the wrist rest has now seen better days.I have now installed this wrist rest and it is the most supportive and comfortable I have used. The gel construction makes a great support for your hands and your wrists remain in the best position so that they are not under any stress.Overall.To all you gamers and programmers out there get sorted while you are young or you will end up with the same problems I had. Technology has moved on and so has the understanding of repetitive strain injuries. Wrists supports like this will help the wear and tear on your wrists, a good monitor stand will keep you from arching your back and neck and a good quality mouse also helps. This is an excellent wrist rest but it comes at a high price for what it is but if it stops a visit to the doctor then it’s worth it.

Vine sent me this 3M gel-cooled grippy-plastic-backed faux-leather topped WR320LE (48.2 x 7.1 x 2) instead of the requested WR310MB (51.3 x 7.7 x 3.2), so this review is for this smaller and well proven WR320LE.This wrist rest is as almost good as any I’ve tried in the past, and it has the advantages of being wipe-clean and non-slip on the desktop. At 2cm thick it is more suitable for the thinner low-profile keyboards used by many modern computers, and at 48cms long it is about the same as one of these but not long enough to reach across for the mouse as well, unless there is no number-pad.I’m grateful to Vine for offering me this new one to try as my ancient Dell wrist rest is close to becominga health hazard because of all the skin and sweat that has soaked into its cloth covering over the last decade or two, despite regular cleaning. Alas, the WR320LE is thinner than my usual rest, and although it is very comfortable on the skin I need the extra thickness, and after a day of typing I have reverted to the thicker old one.I’ve used wrist rests with keyboards since the 1980s, not consistently because some keyboards such as on laptops or custom consoles make them impossible to position effectively and then I suffer; but I always try to use one with a full-size keyboard with proper sculpted keys, such as this very-nice-to-type-on big old heavy Dell AT102W PS2 type, because I have found the rests to be very beneficial in minimising RSI in the wrists and the back of the hands, and they also help with typing speed and precision.I also use a separate  mouse wrist rest and regularly swap the mouse between Left and Right hands every couple of days to help prevent RSI in the shoulders and the back of the hands.

Initial impressions are not fabulous with this, it feels heavy, you're not sure the wrist rest is affixed properly; and it is only stuck onto the board with pads of thick sticky... Making it not look the best, to be honest for nearly £38 (at the time of writing) it could look a lot better than being a standard leather effect wrist rest stuck onto a back board of hard plastic. But, getting over that, it's really a very nice, comfortable typing platform. The back plate if very stable, the angle it lifts your wrists is incredibly comfortable, and for someone sat writing code all day for a living, it is a pleasure to use.The anti-slide footings, like the rest itself, are just sticky attached pads, but they work brilliantly, it's a great solid platform on which to work.I found it best for use when you have a smaller desk, and need to maybe let the edge of the rest board hand over the edge, particularly when working on two adjoining tables at an angle, rather than on a single curved corner desk, in this position it really gave the keyboard a solid surface where otherwise there'd not be on.So far, I'm going to have to push this for a solid good review, it's not perfect, the presentation is lacking; you really do just think the rest is floppily stuck on there; and the price is a little high maybe for what it is, but it is branded and it works!

Didn't buy through Amazon but instead bought it through work.I've never got on with wrist rests before. The ones I had previously used were those tacky gel ones with see through plastic on them, I always felt my hands sticking to them and the gel was quite firm. However, I've developed some strain in my right hand and was told to get a wrist rest for my keyboard at work. This rest puts all the others to shame, it's got a nice thickness - not too firm and not too soft. My wrists "sink" into it slightly but it offers great support, much better than a desk, or resting on your forearms. The finish feels like a soft lycra, or neoprene so it's easy to maintain and keep clean. It's not sticky and isn't rough when typing. The underside has a sticky rubber, so this thing will not move while typing which is great. I use a Lenovo Slim USB Keyboard at work, which is a fullsize keyboard including number pad. The wrist rest is approx 1.5 inches wider than the keyboard so I imagine this will work great with even the longest of keyboards. From and RSI/ergonomic point of view, over the previous week I've noticed that I've had much less pain while typing using this rest. I would definitely reccomend one of these items if you spend any amount of time using a keyboard. At time of purchase it cost £20 which isn't expensive as this is a great quality item.

This is a generously propotioned and robust keyboard platform and mouse mat with a nice tactile feel. A keyboard platform such as this is essential for people who spend hours per day sitting at a computer keyboard. It is less important for occasional computer users who may have a questionable typing posture and technique. The reason I say that is that people who are properly trained to type, sit upright with arms straight in front of them, whereas casual users usually sit in a slightly hunched position with arched arms and bent wrists - you can get away with a poor technique if you don't use a keyboard too much.If the latter inappropriate technique is yours then you will find using this platform somewhat uncomfortable and certainly unfamiliar and you are unlikely to appreciate its potential benefits. You will have to unlearn your old keyboard posture and technique to get the best out of it. If your technique is currently appropriate you will find this platform to be ergonomically comfortable and in the long term it will prevent repetitive strain injury which can be a painful chronic condition. It's a bit expensive but given it's robust nature it should last for years and prove to be a worthy investment in the long term from a physical health perspective

Oh my goodness, this thing us HUGE! You could land a B52 on it.. You certainly need a fair bit of desk space to be able to give it a home. Saying that, if you are like me and tend to work on the sofa, it makes a super mini-table to perch your keyboard and mouse on, while you lean back and get comfy. I actually use it as an extension to the coffee table and perch my laptop between the two, which makes it much better for my eyes and my back - and the wrist rest stops me leaning on the front of the laptop when I type - so I am really pleased with it.However, if you are a normal person and use it in the way it was intended, I can say that it will hold the biggest keyboard ever - and it has a mousemat that's not attached,so you can put it on either side - depending on whether you are a lefty or a righty. The mouse mat has a textured surface to give good grip to your mouse, which is also helpful. But its trademarked name is 'Precise Mousing Surface' - which makes it sound like a cat toy.So the whole thing has the overall feel of something put together in the dark by someone with a strange sense of humour. You can make it work for you (if you have enough room!) but it will always be weird.

This is one of those things that I didn’t know existed, let alone that people used them until I was offered one, I run an online business and spend a lot of time on my PC and keyboard, my right hand has always suffered from repetitive strain and wondered If this would help. The quality seems very good, I’ve never seen another so can’t compare but its well-made and soft to touch, very comfortable has a gel filling, so far very impressed.Using it took a bit of time to get used to, it raises my hands slightly which is comfortable, but I’ve typed my way for so many years any change seemed odd, I’m getting used to it and like it.It to early to say if my hand will benefit from it,I find I don’t get the cold right hand as quick now, guess the blood is flowing better, so would hope that’s a good long term thing.I’m very pleased with this, I would of struggled to pay the price not really knowing the benefits, even now I’m not sure I’d want to spend £24 on one, however it is very good, the price is the only reason its lost a star.

I have quite a big desk, so I am not troubled by the size that some reviewers complain is too big. I measured it, and width-wise, it is only 1.5 inches wider than the keyboard and a mouse-mat combined. It is a lot deeper, naturally, as the wrist support is around 3 inches deep. I think this is actually a very good product. The weight is reassuring, and the non-slip base works well, with everything refusing to budge during a long blogging session today. The very thin mouse mat fits under the wrist support and works exceptionally well, with my cable-connected mouse at least. This can be positioned for left or right handed use too. Both base and rest can be wiped clean if desired, and the neutral colour goes with most office accessories. As others have noted, the tilt feature is non-existent, so I haven't a clue why they claim it has one. I would have given this five stars, if it retailed at half the price, and had the tilt feature. Nice try by 3M, but they are unlikely to sell many to ordinary consumers at £50+

Note: The version I am reviewing is the faux-leather (leatherette) version, which might not be the same as this exact product listing; there seems to be some confusion in the Amazon listings. This is a proper full-size wrist rest. It has a nice weight to it, and with a slip-proof base it doesn't move about by itself. The upper surface is leather-like, soft and smooth, it feels like a quality piece of furniture. It is long enough for any keyboard, and just the right height. The gel has a decent amount of resistance and holds it's shape even after hours of use. Build quality is good, I can't see any way this is going to wear out even with heavy use. There are no negatives that I can think of; perhaps it could be a little bit taller, but that's a personal preference. I will update this review if there are any changes to the product over the next few year of use. It isn't as cheap as many other makes, however this is cleary a quality product and I would buy a replacement without a moments hesitation.

I type a lot and, through bad ergonomic habits, frequently develop fatigue in my wrists. My hands hover over the keyboard and my fingers strike the keys at an awkward angle if I don't stop myself. This wrist rest is just the right height to raise my wrists level with the keyboard, making me more likely to rest them and achieve a better typing position. The rest feels solid and quite heavy. The gel is dense but it has a decent amount of give for comfort without compromising on support. It's quite long as well: just a little longer than my full size logitech keyboard. It could probably double as an excellent smacking tool if required: the flexibility and weight would certainly pack a stingingwallop - wrist rest and home defence combined into one.The only possible complaint is that I think it might be too tall for very thin keyboards like the Apple wireless ones. It does the job well for most standard keyboards I imagine.

I wanted a good quality attractive wrist rest to compliment my new keyboard (Razer Black Widow ultimate). After reading of another user of this keyboard who highly recommended this wrist rest I thought I'd take the plunge and purchase one.For £30 or so this certainly isn't the cheapest option out there, and is considerably more than I wanted to spend.I am however glad I did.Other than being expensive I cannot fault it.The wrist rest is a matte black, and very well made. It looks like it will last a lifetime unlike some other cheaper variants.I'm sure like myself you will find it very comfortable to use. The gel used is just perfect always returning to it's original shape after being depressed and not too stiff.Being leatherette it cleans so easily. A quick wipe over with a damp cloth will do the job, and it will look like new.

A long wrist support. It fits the entire length of the keyboard but is unsuitable if your keyboard is not straight at the bottom like my son's gaming keyboard. I got this for my son who spends many hours gaming but he disliked it and it didn't fit his system well. However, my partner loves using it to support his wrist whilst using the mouse on the PC and also on laptops as he was getting wrist pains. The support feels a bit strange it is gel filled and has a soft black cover - the underside is plastic that has a "tacky" slightly sticky feel , so adheres well to flat surfaces (your desk) with no movement as you use it. It is quite heavy and the cover can be easily spot cleaned and hoovered to maintain cleanliness.Seems a high price though for a squishy cushion.

I do like this wrist wrest however I've dropped a star as even at the reduced price I think it is expensive and I'm not sold on it's longevity due to build construction.First off the thing is massive and should easily accommodate and standard layout UK keyboard and then some. The Gel Wrist rest is comfortable for long periods of typing and the platform easily holds a laptop or a keyboard and keeps them in place. I normally use a leather wrist rest and sometimes it can be annoying when it or the keyboard move and they part company, especially in the throws of battlefield 4 and so this solves that.It could even be used as a bit of a tray on your lap if using a laptop that way.Overall a good bit of kit of you need it,maybe somewhat pricy for what it is.

This is a really nice wrist-rest. It's thicker than others that I've been used to previously which, initially, I was unsure about. However, it has a gentle give in it, thanks to the gel filling, and it hasn't proved to be too thick. The gel filling also provides a nice cool feeling that is quite soothing.A clever feature of this wrist-rest is that it is flexible, so can be curved if required. It is very heavy and has a rubbery type of layer on the underside, meaning that it firmly stays put when you're typing and does not slip around.Overall I would highly recommend this wrist-rest if you use a computer for long periods as it means that your wrists are naturally kept in a much more healthyposition - lessening the chance of inflammation/aching joints.

As someone prone to tendinitis I always use a wrist rest. Until I got my hand on this little beauty was using a Fellowes silicon filled one.I was very surprised at how much more comfortable this one was to use.It is higher, the fabric is incredibly smooth and comfortable so there is no sticking of your wrist. Very heavy so there is no movement on the deskIt's a good length at 48cm so just wider than the keyboard I am using with a lap top.The one I was sent has a silky cover rather than being leatherette. In the title product description it says leatherette and in the body text it talks about .silky smooth covering'.It may be a lucky dip who knows! This cost twice as much as the previous wrist-rest but believe it would be worth it.
