Being a graphic designer, I'm used to using a mouse for a ridiculous number of hours per week, months after month year after year, but after several years, the RSI in my mouse hand got so bad that it was excruciating, I spent a great deal of time researching alternative mouses first so that my hand wouldn't have to pivot at the wrist unnaturally high (Yes - I've used the same wireless laser mouse for years as it's so damn good) but acknowledge that the mouse and my chosen line of work are doing my RSI no good. I looked at Apple Magic Mouse (£60) and Logitech T400 (£20) and Microsoft Arc Mouse (£45), among others - all of which offer a better ergonomic fit so that your hand is much flatter and the angle at which the wrist pivots is almost parallel to the desk (has to be good)however read an awful of of reviews suggesting the level of accuracy and response was not as high as it needs to be if you have a job like, Graphic Design, for example. High level of response and accuracy with zero lag are critical. So £60 is a lot of money for a mouse right, a rip-off in my opinion.I considered gel mouse pads/supports as an alternative to spending a lot of money on a mouse, and therefore taking a chance on it being accurate and responsive enough at great cost. The gel mouse mat is a cheap way to tackle the RSI problem. This will sound like complete bu****it but from day one, my RSI has been practically non-existent. The gel pad raises the wrist and hand, allowing the hand to use the mouse at practically a horizontal level - eliminating the need to bend my wrist unnaturally for hours on end. I was very skeptical about buying this at first but as it was cheap (£6.00 less expensive than the high street retailers) I considered it worth writing off if unsuccessful. I since bought another so I have one for the office and one for home. Some reviews suggest the actual mouse surface is poor quality and peels off, but after 3 months, it's still like new and I can tell you I'm fussy as hell but have found this to be incredibly good.5 stars for price, quality and fit for the purpose for which it was designed. Don't delay - buy one (or two) today.

Although I've only been using it for a day now, I think this is the best mouse mat I've ever bought.A mouse mat is something most people just take as a cheap surface to make sure that your mouse actually works, rather than bare on the desktop but I've made the mistake in the past merely to buy the cheapest available & think that's OK. Wrong. This Fellowes Gel Mouse Pad is a Rolls-Royce of mouse mats, if there can be such a thing, as it isn't a car.The surface area is more than adequate to navigate a 22" monitor with very little movement of the mouse: in fact I've had to slow down the cursor speed to half its previous speed, such is the way my old Logitech M510 laser mouse loves its surface.I didn't realise that the fabric surface of my previous mats slowed down the speed & precision of the mouse to that extent. It sticks to the desktop like a limpet due to a kinda gel-like underbelly & doesn't move about at all. You have to physically lift it up to reposition it slightly on your desk. Which is good.Everyone who spends hours on a computer should have a gel wrist support, to avoid RSI & this one is very cool. Very long, wide & generous. And, strangely, also cool to the touch wrist-wise. It feels cold & clearly the cluster of blood vessels & nerves in that part of your wrist benefit from this & you can roll your hand along it to cool your hand also, as it's so long. All in all, a tremendous mouse mat but don't forget to slow down your cursor speed when first using it as the pointer'll just shoot off the screen, the surface is so optical/laser mouse-friendly, I kid you not.

I bought this out of necessity to force my hand to stay on top of my desk rather than the edge. it worked perfectly. The bottom of the mouse mat sticks to the desk and does not move, you have to peel it off and place it back down, it is pure silicone (i think) and very high friction you CANNOT slid it around, not even on purpose. The gel hand rest bit is also silicon, feels like jelly, very soft. The top of the mat is a hard plastic material, the mouse runs smoothly on it, no issues with tracking. The area is a bit small for modern mice, i use a Razer Death Adder 2013 and wish there was more room but it is still very usable.A bit of background to why i bought it:I normally keep my palm pressedtightly against the edge of my desk whilst using my mouse causing a big red line across my palm and reducing blood flow and irritating the nerves in my hand thus causing carpel tunnel syndrome and RSI.With this mouse mat i am forced to keep my hand on top of the desk instead of the edge, the big bubble bit physically stop my mouse from being taken to the edge of the desk and also provides a nice palm rest.I have been using this for a month now, my past injuries have gone, the pains and aches and soreness all went away after a week or two of using the mouse mat and it will prevent them from coming back.

Immediate impressions on opening the packaging (which gave me no trouble at all, so I guess they've improved it since an earlier reviewer's apparent struggle to get it open - it took me five seconds, and the packaging is still intact) are that it looks good, is comfortable to use, adheres well to the surface it's placed on and supports the wrist nicely. My main concern at this point is that the film covering the gel seems to be quite thin. I bought this to replace an older gel mat which had split open (after a good few years of heavy use), causing me to get a sticky residue on my wrist every time I used it. That mat seemed to have a much thicker casing for the gel - this one seems to be the thickness of a balloon.Time will tell. One other thing that must have been addressed recently by the manufacturers is that there was no odour on opening the packaging. The same reviewer who was concerned about needing a chainsaw to open the packaging also mentioned an overpowering chemical smell that filled the room. I've had a good old sniff of mine and I can't smell anything at all, pleasant or unpleasant.I'm hoping the mat proves to be durable as I rather like it from an appearance and comfort point of view.

I had problems finding a decent mouse mat that was large enough for my relatively big mouse, without trying to take over my desk space. This mat fit the bill nicely. The gel wrist pad has sufficient give in it without being too soft and supports the wrist well. On hot days it can be a little on the tacky side, that that will happen with most mats unfortunately. As the base is of a silicon style material, the mat stays exactly where you put it. This is a bit of a double edged sword as it doesn't move during normal use, but if you need to move it a little for any reason, you actually have to peel it off the desk to be able to do so. To be fair, I don't have to do that very often, but it should be mentioned. The mat itself is smooth. I would have preferred a fabric mat (as my previous one had) but this one works fine. All in all, a good mouse mat and I'll definitely buy again. Some reviews have stated that the mat peels in the top right hand side. This might be because (like me) they may be dragging their little finger across the mat. Time will tell if I have the same issue.

I've had many mouse mats over the years. Always stuck to those cloth covered foam ones as they're generally so cheap, which is just as well given how often they fall apart! So I was intrigued to try out this gel support pad by Fellowes. The mat is made from gel, however the mat part (where the mouse is) is textured - my optical mouse works just great with it and I'm assuming the same would be true with a mechanical mouse due to the textured surface. The whole mat stays put on the desk, no slippage whatsoever! The gel wrist support is perfectly sited and whilst I didn't think that I had encountered any wrist strain with the regular mats I've always used, this does feel a lot more comfortable. The only down side,is the price. Personally, I wouldn't pay this much for it, or any mouse mat (unless it could make and bring me tea too!) but for those that would, this is very pretty, perfectly designed mouse mat, possibly a must for anyone who would really benefit having their wrist supported.

I bought one of these at the end of January 2016 to replace a more conventional mousemat I'd had since 1999/2000 which was starting to look a bit grotty + had the rubber starting to come to bits on it.This has served me fairly well, and part of it is still usable after daily wiping with anti-bacterial spray + it has also coped with regularly being subjected to my Dad massively over-compensating the central heating and gas fire in the livingroom to the point the room temperatures head into the region of 80-86°F most evenings and I almost start blacking out.I have just started looking for it's successor as about an hour ago the thing "sprung a leak" while I was in the middle of a deathmatch round on CS:GO,and it covered my right wrist with a load of sticky clear gloopy stuff (took 4 attempts to wash the damn stuff off). For now I've had to make a "redneck repair job" on it by sticky-taping an old printer cartridge wrapper over the top of it to protect my wrist from the wristrest.

I've gone through so many of these, I've lost count. At some point the seams come apart and the gloop inside starts leaking out. Damnably annoying but I keep going back to try others because of a very old injury which causes me some difficulty using a mouse. These things help somewhat and mean I can do things at the computer - and play games once in a while. I didn't expect a great deal when I ordered this one as they're all much the same. A "gell" pocket, stuck or stitched to a mat. This one is a bit different. The 'gel' is contained in a pocket, but that pocket is sealed in. The base is a semi rigid plastic which appears the be molded around the gel pocket and a plastic (?)mat is then stuck on top of this surface. So, no edge to come astray, no stitching to come undone. In fact, I can't see how this can leak short of punching a hole in it. It may be possible, that I have finally found a decent mouse mat which isn't going to leak within a few days.

I spend hours every day at a computer, and having had wrist and forearm problems I'm very careful to use a mouse pad that offers wrist support - and all this means I've had quite a few of these pads over the years. There's lots of choice of black gel pads, and they're so similar it's tempting to opt for the cheapest. I'm glad I paid slightly more, though, and bought this one. It's solidly made - no sign after two months that it's going to curl away from the desk - and it sticks well to the desk surface. The surface of the main part of the pad has whatever the mouse needs to track correctly, but is easy to clean (unlike many others, which have a kind of cloth). The support section has the right firmness and thickness, and has a smooth surface, so both comfortable under the wrist and easy to clean. All in all I like it very much, and recommend it. I've no idea, I should add, whether it's good for gaming, as that's not my thing.

I felt the need to write a review after the comments of others saying such things as it doesn't work with my optical mouse, and its to small. First off I have used this with several mice moth optical and otherwise from a two dollar useless mouse at work to $90 logitech mice, they all work fine. As to the comments about it being to small it is the same size as almost every other mouse pad on the market, perhaps you need to learn to use a mouse and adjust the sensitivity so you don't need to pick it up 12 times to get across a screen. The pad size is fine I navigate a 17" at work, a 21" wide at home and a dual 30" in a command center it works fine at all the locations. This is also the only mousepad that has gel that holds up, doesn't feel slimy or covered in cheap neoprene and best of all doesn't move from where you place it. The pad accuracy is fine when used for gaming and for creating basic photo edits and web graphics.

As my OH is working from home since the lockdown, the track pad on her laptop was making life difficult so I gave her one of my wireless mice but the desk surface wouldn't play ball so in the end I bought her one of these mouse mats.I've had Fellow's mice mats in the past and they were good and lasted a few years and I expect this should do the same.So far my OH is very happy with it ...in her words, it's a mouse mat, it works fine and it stops my wrist from aching ...what more do I need? She is rather Philistine I admit but she knows what she likes and if there was any problem she would definitely say so.Whether it would be suitable for gaming I don't know as I've not used it but I've usedsimilar sized small mats in the past and I've managed with them though I can't really compare them to the gaming mat I have now which is 80cm x 30cm.For regular mouse use it's fine and it looks OK too.

I started buying these for co-workers upon request as soon as someone complained about their wrists hurting.I read some reviews about how they stink and whatnot, but I've never experienced it. I've bought 3 sets (mouse and keyboard wrests) so far and no one has complained about a smell. So I don't know what's the gripe about, maybe I got lucky?I loved the gel wrest upon first use. It's cooling and soft and silky and comforting. I can't imagine using a mouse in an office setting without a gel wrist wrest. Yes, I'm officially spoiled. And I'm afraid I'm doing the same to my co-workers. I've never had wrist pain using my laptop in a home setting, but a month after I started a desk job I could feel the pain throughout the day. This pretty much solved it.Good item and I will purchase again when I puncture the gel part, which may or may not be accidental.

Gel pad notably superior in cushioning to other products. Mouse surface hard wearing and perfect for optical mouse in texture. Does not slide about at all on work surface due to the weird sticky base that's not gummy at all.Only downside is that its small size does mean your mouse rides up on the edge of the mat quite a bit. However, it's great for cramped work space and a sensible dpi setting on your mouse allows you to point to all four corners of the screen with ease. Some may prefer a fabric coated gel pad but the wipe clean nature of the product is fine by me and it doesn't seem to get annoyingly sweaty. It's hard to get overexcited about a mouse mat but it does the job very well and givesgreat support to your wrist however you like to arrange your arm.Wouldn't have wanted to pay full RRP for it, though.

I've owned this mat for about three years now and thought a long-term review might be useful. I don't find that the mat "curls" as another reviewer has said; in fact I can't imagine how it possibly could as it's so rigid. The gel pad works quite well, perhaps as well as this kind of thing can, and the mouse surface is hard plastic that works very well indeed. It's weakness is that it's just not quote large enough in area. What this means is that there are times (not too many to be irritating), when the mouse has to be lifted and moved forwards to allow the cursor to travel across the whole screen.I have my mouse adjusted to cover the screen easily but I still can't quite get it right with this pad.I continue to use it as it is the most comfortable I've used and only wish it was a bit larger in surface area.

I got this new mouse pad/wrist rest when I got my new trackball mouse. I had read the reviews and I was impressed by the reviews that said the gel did not compress like the foam types. So far, my expectations have been met. The wrist rest is comfortable and it does not compress like my old foam one did.Being as I use a trackball, I did have one problem. My trackball mouse slid all over the pad when I pressed a button. I would expect that to be good news for people who use the traditional roll around type of mouse. My solution was to buy a set of those round non-slip jar openers for the kitchen. One of them under my mouse completely solved the slipping problem.I like this mouse pad/wrist rest so much that I bought a gel pad wrist rest for my keyboard. They are both great!
