You'll have to decide for yourself if the current pricing makes sense for you, but with its conventional form factor and SATA interface, and max write rate of 1/3rd the drive each day for 5 years, I've found it to be a great upgrade for old desktops. Note unlike some of Intel's newer DC SSDs, it's a true Data Center drive with a hypercapacitor to ensure proper shutdown on power loss, you should not be able to brick it like many consumer grade drives.I find a combination of the 80GB drive for system storage, and a multi-terabyte spinning hard disk or two more than adequate for my desktop and thereabouts level systems, and it would also work fine for a server that mostly reads data.
