I’m old enough to remember when HotWheels track (or its predecessor) came in rolls several metres long and you wound it around the furniture to create your run - it wasn’t that successful and it would kink and twist in unhelpful ways. Nowadays the track comes in short sections that click together with special two-ended clips and while that seems like more work it actually works better and it’s easier to get a working kink-free track. You get a decent selection in this HotWheels Deluxe Stunt Box and even the box and its lid are integral components used to create a custom run. There’s enough here to make a fun setup on its own but of course you can extend it further by adding more components. The straight track pieces clip together, and come apart again, fairly easily just by pressing the moulded button but the corner sections are a lot more stubborn and once they’re clipped together they’re tricky to separate again. They’re also annoyingly limited in scope because you have to fit two 90˚ sections together forming a single 180˚ turn and you can’t use one 90˚ corner piece on its own or put two together in alternate orientations to make an ‘S’ bend. You can make a sharp 90˚ turn by using a dual-purpose insert that fits into the lid section but it’s not quite the same. Flipping that ‘crash-zone’ insert over creates a conventional crossroads where vehicles can collide at will.Once you’ve built your track you send the two supplied HotWheels cars along it by using the two rubber-band powered ‘Carapaults’ which propel the cars at breakneck speeds. They’ve got a simple ratchet mechanism with three click-stops and you choose the number of clicks to suit your track and then press the trigger to fire the car along the track. They speed around the track at satisfyingly fast speeds, providing you’ve clicked all the components together correctly, and it’s surprising how long a track can be. Using the box as a launch platform helps and there’s the option of a trap-gate which has a flap which will only allow the first car through when both ‘Carapaults’ are connected to it. This adds another competitive element, as if it was needed, and adds to the fun. With a bit of careful building you can send cars along surprisingly complicated tracks with a good mix of corners and flyovers and with a bit of practise avoid spinning off into the carpet undergrowth, though that’s fun too. When you’re done it all packs up back into the box ready for next time. It’s an excellent addition to any HotWheels tracks you might already have but this works well as starter set too, it’s a bit overpriced but there’s much fun to be had.

Hotwheels have been around since I was a teenager and while i played a few times with younger cousin's sets I never really got them. This set is a great introduction with both the base and lid of the box forming part of the action. The set has three complete tracks for use without any further tracks or accessories needed.Assembly at first is not so straight forward due to the slightly vague pictorial guides but once you understand how to interpret them it becomes quite straight forward. The main and first track is the one the kids are having the most fun where the cars race to the top of the box to be the first down the single track the other side. This is a good job as the other 2 tracks aremainly flat which doesn't suit one of the cars that basically rears up and flips over as soon as the launcher fires it forward but due to the up and over style of track one this car performs great. The best part of this set is that it clears away into a compact box and has enough space for more track as you accumulate it.The really strange thing though is the space for 4 cars on the top of the box but there is no way to hold them in place other than gravity which mean any tip of the box spills the cars over the floor so in the end they get stored inside.Otherwise a good hotwheels starter set

Both of my daughters love toy cars, one has gone through that phase, but the youngest is mad on cars or trains. And dollies obvs. Luckily we have loadsa Hot Wheels cars, so this set is a welcome addition to the Triceratops set we already have! You get enough track here to either make use of the carry case or not, personally I thing using it makes it a tad more interesting with the single incline, otherwise it is just fire it round a racetrack to go on across the floor (must invest in more track..). And if you get the momentum the car will return to you on the other track! In the box you get lots of track, connectors, curves and two cars. So in theory you don't really need anything else, unlike other sets we have had. But I feel you will add to this set, as it is quality, if not a little pricey.Well recommended if you have a kid who loves cars and trains, as this is a hybrid of that.If you found this review useful then please click the helpful button below, and be sure to check out our other reviews of products you may also consider purchasing from Amazon. Hot Wheels GGP93 Deluxe Stunt Box Giftable Set 15 Feet 36 Pieces Track Connectors and Curves, Multicolour priced at £39.99We are a hot wheels fans in this house but we tend just to buy the cars not the play sets as they never get played with a lot and just left collecting dust but this set is totally different and it’s not been put away yet.You get 35+ pieces ( 16+ feet of track) 3 ways to stunt and you also get 2 hot wheel cars you can also store away in the storage box which is part of the track. There is so many things you could do with this set - race side by side, go head to head or complete with speed and skill. You can flip the diverter, stunt the bin and so much much or if you are like my kids just play cars on the car track this is a really good set at a really good price. The one thing I would say is that the packaging could have been a bit better then just one thin piece of cardboard wrap round the middle of it.

My boys (4 & 6) have been collecting Hot Wheels cars for some time, and watching hot Wheels videos on YouTube. Getting them some track was the next logical step. The track is made of tough plastic with snap together connectors which are easy to assemble but need mummy of daddy to pull apart - there is not trick to it, just brute force. The box can be used either way up, and either has 2 parallel lanes or two lanes merging into one at one end, or a crossover junction at the other, just in case you don't have enough accidents already. There are a couple of 180- degree bends which can't be used as 90 degree bends, about 15 feet of track, a couple of cars, two elastic powered launchers, and some clips. All in all, enough for two small boys to make a vast range of tracks, before realizing what they really need is a loop...

I got this set for 20 quid to connect with a couple of existing ones and it is excellent for this purpose. It comes with a good amount of track, 2x cars, 2x 180 degree bends (cant use them as 90 degree corners unfortunately), 2x launchers and both the box itself and the cap are part of the track too which is brilliant! The launchers can be armed at 3 distinct steps so one can adjust the velocity of the car, useful since depending if the track that follows is e.g. a downhill bend most cars will fly out if going too fast. The only comment is that the set doesn't have a very unique and characteristic gimmick that would make it exciting to play on its own.It is ideally combined with other tracks and sets.We found many interesting combinations quite quickly

This is a great starter kit or additional add on to any hot wheels collectors. My 6 year old son loved this set and he spent many hours playing with it either by himself or with his friends and family (dad). The track was easy to assemble and was made of good sturdy material. He liked the fact that he could have different tracks some with bends some without to suit his mood. He did struggle to get the track apart by himself. From a parents point of view any toy that has its own storage facility is always a bonus. With this kit you get 35 plus pieces of track including storage box, which can be part of the awesome fun and 2 hot wheel cars.Excellent toy would highly recommend.

Great set for hot wheels fans. 15 foot of tracks that can be used on its own but also can be connected to other hot wheels tracks. Our son absolutely loves this and adding them to his other tracks his room is just full of tracks. Great for playing alone or with his friends, they love racing to the top and crashing into each other. The tracks can be put together in different ways and can easily provide fun for hours. This set comes with 2 free cars and even though it's a great addition to other hot wheels sets it is also a perfect starter set too. This would make a great gift that will be well received. Let's kids use their imagination and creativity. Highly recommend this

A modular add-on for Hot Wheels which is clearly intended to ADD to existing track. That said it would work as a first track set too, but to a limited extent. The plastic box doubles up as a launch ramp, which is a nice touch, as also looks much better than the usual cardboard box when everything is tidied away. The cross-over section can either be a pair of opposing corners or a proper intersection, which again is a nice touch. Hot Wheel has done a great job with this set.I guess the only downside is that this set is unlikely to be enough on its own - your youngsters will always want more track. And cars.

If your child has masses of Hot Wheels track like mine, you are probably pulling your hair out because of the lack of curves in most starter packs. This add-on set is great because it contains those much needed curves! It’s actually a really good set in its own right too, it has a 2-into-1 track channeller in the base of the box, and an adjustable cross-roads/double corner mounted in the lid, which you remove and turn over depending what layout you want.As always, it’s well made, and a lot of thought has gone into the design and possible layouts, with pictures to show you the suggested layouts.5 stars.

A really cool set and perfect for any pre-existing Hot Wheels fan. A flexible plastic track that slots in logically and can be manipulated well, providing your ambition and creativity with it isn't too wild...I love that it's all modular, so each set will work with any other Hot Wheels set and you can build a track as big as you like - we had one coming from upstairs and round on to the kitchen table at one point! And they also make good add-on present ideas each christmas for the first few years any way.My nephew loves it, and the fact that you can change it up so easily keeps him occupied for ages.

This comes in a large plastic Orange tub with a blue lid. The lid includes 2 free cars. You get 35 pieces in the set which makes 16 feet of track. You get 7 Orange straight pieces, 8 Blue straight pieces, 2 Orange curved, 2 Blue curved, and various connectors, bridges etc. You are just limited to whatever configurations you come up with.Fantastic set that has you up and running straight away, hot wheels cars are so cheap as well, the normal cars are all die cast and are all about 1-2 quid each. You can also buy extra track for about a tenner that has an extra 20 feet of track.Great toy.

This is an excellent piece of kit. It is made to the same standards you would expect from Hot Wheels and it really doesn't disappoint.Once you get the knack for putting the track together, it's straightforward and comes apart easily too for storage. It is a lot of fun and keeps the children occupied (and some of the adults too!) for ages. This is going to come in very handy as the Autumn moves in and playing outdoors isn't always achievable. A great set and compatible with our existing sets too. Overall, we're really pleased with this."

I remember playing with Hot Wheels when I was a kid ... too many decades ago now, but it is nice to see the brand and concept have survived and evolved.Although this stunt box set is stand-alone, it can be integrated into existing track and kits.I gave this to my Nephew to test out (he has existing Hot Wheels sets). He was pretty adept at setting up and was soon playing.I remember having loads of fun in my youth, but in those days we didn't have the choice and distractions available today.Reasonably price for what you get.

This is a fun set for kids to get started building their own Hot Wheels racing tracks, coming with everything you'll need for hours of play, including a couple of cars to get you started. The best part of the set is undoubtedly that the box doubles up as part of the set, which is a great use of the space and a great idea in general. You can build a few different variations with the track provided, though you'll really want to combine with other sets to get the most of the Hot Wheels concept.
