When I first decided to buy a fight stick, I automatically started looking for the cheapest sticks. Let me just say, if you're not familiar with a fight stick, it takes time to get used to. When I found this Hori, the price seemed cheap, the reviews seemed reasonable and I bought it without a second thought. When it arrived it took next to no time to set up on my laptop and worked perfectly. It has a sturdy build - doesn't seem brittle. It's small and therefore very portable. The device cable is long enough for easy gaming at any distance. Lastly, as it is designed for the PlayStation, I can use it on a PS3, PS4 and/or my PC should I wish. However, If I could I would rate this a 3.5/5.It does the job and is cheap, but the buttons seem to wobble around in their slots and require a 'true' push to actually register - meaning you can't gently tap it or tap it in a rush as it may not register. Additionally, as an inexperienced user of fight sticks I was a little concerned when I found the little ring around the joystick wasn't attached, however I am assuming that is simply the design. The rubber buttons feel cheap and have a very unsatisfying wobble when pushed down. This is all probably expected from a small fight stick of this calibre however. Overall, if you want a fight stick (I would recommend looking at a hit-box controller) and you don't have a great big budget and you just want to play your favourite fighting games casually, this device is a decent buy.

I've bought it since I love playing fighting games and I do so on my PS4 and PC, but at the time investing on a more high-end stick is not a viable option. For the price range this is a pretty good stick, it's very responsive and on PC which was my main concern as to compatibility, it hasn't given me any problems at all. the buttons and stick are responsive, of course it takes some adjusting as you would with any new controller. But playing games such as KoF 13, KoF 14, Samurai Shodown, Skullgirls, Killer Instinct and even games on emulators such as Street Fighter 3 have been working smoothly even some shoot'em ups like Ikaruga and Jamestown played beautifully with it.For people wanting to get an arcade stick and not break the piggy bank, this is a really good choice. For negatives I'd say that the small size will be a problem for people with large hands, mine are normal and at first the distance between the stick and buttons felt awkward, I also recommend getting a table to put the controller a little higher up, putting it on your lap can get uncomfortable at times.Considering the price and quality, the pros outweigh the cons in my opinion, well worth the price or as a first stick for those who want to try it but are unsure of spending more than 100 quid on a higher quality one.

Perfect for beginner / intermediate fun stick. Plug and play on PC/PS4/PS3. The stick isn't too small that it wont fit comfortably on your lap. But big enough to rest your right palm on so you don't get cramps after playing for a couple of hours. Definitely better than the Mad cats SFV stick. The stick itself comes with a Hori Hyabusa style stick inside (microswitchs inside the stick can be changed out). The button set is made of Hori's version of the sanwa micro switch (almost identical feel/ maybe very slightly softer). For the advanced/modder. Inside the stick there is a nice small easy to solder/remove board. So if your upgrading a stick and want to buy this to try out. Then tear appart to use in another stick. It's a good stick to do that with. ( the trickiest part to solder are the Start/options/share as the pads are a little small )Hope this helps! Its definately a decent stick. I originally bought this so i could tear out the board inside to use in my older custom arcade stick. But actually played with it for a week before doing so. After i had pulled it appart i kinda missed having the smaller fun stick. So i modded a Ps3 controller board back into it so i could use it for fun on old classics.Worth every penny. ;)

I bought this stick for exclusively running MAME on my Raspberry Pi 2. I don't have the option of using tab to change settings at present with the emulator & romset I'm using, but I will fix this at some point. What you need to know is this; it works. Simply plugged it in, set the buttons in Emulationstation and that was that. I did have to tinker in the config file to swap the PS button over to my hotkey (so I could insert coin properly) but then it was done and dusted. Works a charm. There are a couple of wrinkles to address as the buttons aren't configured how I totally want, but that isn't the fault of the stick. If I was to be harsh, I would possibly mention the stick has slightly more travel than I would like. However, that would be churlish as it works as it should do overall. Buttons have a reasonable amount of travel and have no lag. The unit is small (mini stick, see?) but that is part of the charm for me; I spend a lot of time travelling, with nights in hotels, so this is perfect to stick in my overnight bag.Consider the cost of this stick. It is a quality item for the money. I have rated it five stars as it is perfect for me. It should tick all the boxes for you, too.

Great little stick for its price, cant go wrong at this price for the build quality, Its very hard to find bad points about it... my only gripe is that personally id prefer 6 bigger buttons opposed to 8 that are slightly smaller but because its just a personal preference thing I wont drop it a star the buttons are a little close together, if you're new to sticks its nice non-expensive place to start that'll give you a feel for what having a stick is like for not too big of an investment, if you decide don't like it for fighters you can still use it for old arcade style games on your pc but I cant go back to Normal controllers after learning to use a fight stick... (for double the price id go for the venom stick)but regardless id still recommend this stick to anyone wanting to play fighting games I have both this and the venom and while a big stick is nice I can just sling this in my bag when going away to a mates house or even abroad on the plane.. very very cool nifty little stick love it...

As a first stick this is a good entry into the fight stick scene.I have to say it does absolutely everything it says on the box. It is a mini stick, arguably better for kids than adults, depending on style that is.I use two fingers to hit an arcade button, fine if you are using a full size 30mm button but the Hori mini is closer to 24mm which means you end up striking two buttons if you use the two finger style. You cannot mid this stick or replace buttons or joystick on this model, nor does it have an easy graphics template on the usual sites. So if you are planning on modding this i’d say go for the Venom 8 button or Mayflash F500 which go for around the same price used. That being said is you want to dip your toe in the fight stick sea,or are looking for one for kids then this is a good stick at a budget friendly price.

Bought this primarily for use with MAME/Retroarch to relive my younger years. Works wonderfully with both on a Windows PC with nothing more than the usual setup required. Overall the quality of the stick is very good. the stick itself is micro switched and square gated with 8 directions and good self centering. The buttons could do with a bit more springing (hence the missing star) and could be a bit quieter as they're a little noisy, not a problem for the player, but for those around you it could be a bit annoying. Although light, the stability of the base is very good and I've had not problems using it on a desk or lap. I wouldn't suggest this for the ardent track 'n'field player as that requires some thing a bit more bomb proof, but for the vast majority of games it's great and certainly worth the money.

I was looking for a reasonably priced arcade sticks to play retrogames on Windows PC computer. This one has been working well so far. Hori is a brand that I trusted for these kind of devices. So far I have been using it for Mame, Amiga WinUAE and Neo Geo arcade emulators, it works like a charm. I would recommend to use Windows 7 or a newer O.S. because the drivers are recognised unlike XP or older versions of Windows. My concern was always related to durability and sturdiness, so far it is working ok.I believe this is a good buy for the lower end of controllers, please bear in mind this is a basic type of arcade stick. There is a big gap of prices between this model and better ones that start on 100 pounds and cost more.

This can be a good introduction to know if you want to use a Fight Stick rather than a controller!I play a lot of fighting games and wanted to make the transition. There are fight sticks out there costing up to £100+ and I just could not make that much of an investment it I do not like the product or not. This is what you need if you want to know ifYou want to see if a fight stick is for youYou don't want to pay huge amounts for a controller you might not useHave a spare fighting controller.I found that fight sticks are not for me and brought a HORI Fighting Commander and never looked back. This is still a good controller.

I bought 2 of these and think they are excellent!I can't comment from a pro perspective, but these sticks are responsive, accurate and a size that is sensible for the casual fight fan looking to get used to playing with an arcade stick. At £29 each (at time of purchase) they are an inexpensive way to learn how to play, and perfect for late night local Street Fighter sessions. They're small, responsive, great quality and cheap. So, unless you're at the level that you're taking on the next pro tournament they'll be perfect.A fantastic entry point for fight fans!

This is a good entry level stick at a low price. It's by no means the best stick around but if you're at all curious about switching from a pad it's a cheap option. The stick itself is responsive enough with a satisfying click to it, the buttons are kinda squashy but I'm more than happy with my purchase. Other things worth considering are that its fairly light and lacks heft, but if you're travelling to a mates house and don't want to lug a huge and expensive deck around with you, this will suit your needs.

Great Stick for a beginner or just someone who doesn't want to have to carry a heavy, full sized fight stick around to a friends house, but would still rather use a stick than a controller. It has 8 buttons, which i find is great, but the sacrifice is that unlike other mini fight sticks which only have 6 buttons, the buttons on this are a bit smaller than usual. Still very usable though, and still a great option for the price.

I think i cant compare, I bought that stick for play Street fighter V, its better than the PS4 game controller, good quality but I cant make combos very well so I try the arcade fightstick TE2+ Mad Catz...and now I can say:I play good STREET FIGHTER V, you can make combos and its very sentitive...BUT its 199 pound and that stick about 35 pound, I cant compare, but if you really can buy TE2+, you will feel the diferent.

Not so much a console player myself but bought at the request on my son who was bugging me since the day he saw the same one at his cousin’s.Have to say, being a “mini” it does look rather cute and definitely suited for children, not so sure if my husband would find it comfortable. The buttons and joystick seem solid and durable enough to withstand the constant barrage of button bashing from my son.

19.10.2019

Bought this stick for Mortal Kombat and old Neo Geo games. But I ended up using it instead of PS4 controller for almost any arcade game, including racing games. It's very pleasant to use, although very clicky, so I cannot use it when my wife is in the same room. Also, I like how small it is. Doesn't take much of my desk space, and I just put it on top of one of the speakers when I'm not using it.
