The buttons are pretty cheap, the LED is over-bright, by all accounts but one this not a high quality joystick. There is one redeeming factor with this joystick that actually makes it streets ahead of the competition ~ it uses non-contact magnetic sensors. Most other joysticks use potentiometers, which have a metal slider pressing against a carbon track. The carbon track wears out really fast. A dedicated joystick user like myself will wear one out in two months. I have found the T.16000M generally lasts about three years, because it's non-contact the sensors just don't wear out. All the other parts will fail ahead of the sensors, and they do! Eventually the main ball joint loosens up,or a switch will fail, but the sensors just keep on going. These joysticks are very expensive for what they are, but because of the length of time they will last they work out much cheaper in the long-run. That's why this stick gets five stars. It's just a shame that they don't do a version with a better ball joint and high quality switches, but even so, this is a great joystick. The software is great, it allows you to do just about anything. I actually configure the joystick to be a digital stick. The LED's can be removed easily, provided you have a small screwdriver and don't mind voiding the warranty. Just remove the screws on the base and identify the two wires that run to all the LEDs. They are red and black. Snip one and you are done! No glaring light show. Shame they don't provide an on/off switch for them because they are horrific. Particularly at night they are blinding. If you don't want to lose your warranty then you can tape over the orange plastic at the base of the stick, which really helps a lot.I currently have four of these! Two are new, two have failed. The first failure the trigger switch stopped working. The second the ball joint is now so sloppy it's almost unusable, but it still actually works. The third I am using right now the fourth is in reserve! Two failures in six years is pretty good.Incidentally, the dual pack of these just contains two identical joysticks. One is set for right hand use, one for left, but either one can be converted to the other hand should you ever require it.

I've been using a cyborg gold joystick for over 10 years, this review is based on my comparison to that.Pros:Easy to change to left handed and back if needed. Only 2 screws to do so.The joystick movement has a fair amount of resistance but it does scream quality. No dead zone, it centres perfect every time.Smooth movement, you feel in control with even the smallest of movements.Fairly heavy, so stays well planted on the desk. Worst case, there are two screw points underneath if you need them.Easy setup.Cons:The buttons feel soft, not a very positive clickThe sick is a little oversized IMO. I'm a medium to large glove size and i feel my hands are on the small side for this stick. It's not unusable, just doesn't feel quite right. When you move the stick the base lights up. After 3 seconds of being 100% centred, the light goes out, but comes back on when moved again. I'm finding this distracting. Great for checking if the stick is working correctly but with no option to turn this light off, i had to drop a star from my rating. There are videos online that show you how and which wire to cut to stop this but that will invalidate your warranty. I will cut mine as soon as the warranty has ended.Only thing i haven't mentioned so far is the slide throttle. Shame it's not a rotational throttle like on my cyborg gold, but for a slide throttle, it does its job and feels fine.My reason for getting this one is that it is the only quality left handed joystick on the market at the moment IMO

I needed to replace my ageing stick so I though I would give Thrustmaster a go. After all they have been pretty much at the top of the game forever lol.My main reason for this purchase what to play Elite Dangerous but it also works with other stick games and classic games with no issues.I have used this stick on,Elite DangerousStar Wars X-WingStar Wars Tie FighterStar Wars X-Wing Vs Tie FighterStar Wars X-Wing AllianceStrike Suit InfinityStrike Suit ZeroAll of these games handled like a charm, even on the 2 decade old classics of X-Wing and Tie Fighter. The stick has a fantastic "weight" and control to its feel due to the HEART system. Total precision, tiny increments are noticed and its so nice to use. Most sticks I have used in the past have had like rubber suckers on the bottom to stop the stick moving, this one is just solid and does not move which is really nice especially when in combat. Also most sticks I have used you always run out of buttons. Even in Elite I have not got a use for every single button yet. This stick can be bought in combination with a HOTAS or this can be bought sesperately if you wishAbsolutely awesome when my G920 wheel dies I will probably jump to Thrustmaster wheels just on how good this stick was.Freerider-DaveRead full review...

Pretty cheap switches, plasticky feeling joystick with a nasty, blinding orange glow are the things that really hit you about this joystick. It's overpriced to say the least.But...The magnetic positioning is priceless. No more broken potentiometers after a month! This joystick just goes on and on working until after a year or two the ball-joint will get so sloppy you will want to replace it, or one of the cheap switches fails. Either way, it's lasted five times longer than any other joystick ( and believe me, I tried them all. I used to eat Logitechs for breakfast. ) and you will have considered your £50 investment a darn good purchase.....until you have to find the money to buy another, that is.So all in all this is a cheap product at a premium price, but truth is that it is way, way better than anything else out there for less than a few hundred quid, and for the dedicated joysticker it is an absolute must.By the way, you can remove the base and disconnect the LED's pretty easy!Read full review...

I have owned all the top end HOTAS. But none of them were truley designed for space sims.Or they just break after one week of use (AKA X55 Rhino, all three I bought broke with in a week of delivery) or are missing some basic functionality like twist on the stick (AKA Warthog).Immediatly when you load up Elite dangerouse you will see the T.16000M FCS stick and throttle were designed for Elite. And as far as HOTAS prices go, The price is perfect. It does not feel cheap. The sensors are the same sensors that are in the warthog, pin perfect and smooth. The throttle is just amasing. so many buttons and hat switches all with in very easy reach. The flight stick and the Throttle are not attched to eachother.meaning, you can have them to either end of your desk, or you can even have dedicated tables for them on either side of your chair with out the worry of cables crossing over your body.Read full review...

I bought this joystick to replace my 20-year-old Logic3 one, which had become unusable through over-sensitivity and faulty sensors. I'd read that this Thrustmaster FCS joystick used magnets for much more precise control input and that it was ideally suited for the accurate demands of flight simulators. I have no regrets in buying this model for the extra £25 or so as it is an excellent stick! I'd recommend this joystick to anyone who is serious enough about flight simming, but who still is on a reasonable budget and cannot justify buying a yoke or top-end stick. The response and fine accuracy of this stick takes both my civil and fighter flight experience to a whole new level of satisfaction. The increased financial outlay over most basic/standard joysticks is worth it!

The feel is good and the response to controls is accurate, so I give it 4 Stars out of five. The cost is reasonable too.Unfortunately for me, my replacement T16000m has developed the same fault as my previous one. After only about 10 months of light use the calibration for the Rudder and Nose wheel fails and makes is it impossible to control the aircraft on take off and in flight. The blue calibration line flickers from left to right and does not respond. Its a shame because I do like this joystick, but I am afraid I will have to resort back to my trusted Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Joystick , which I have owned for around ten years and it still going strong.Hummmmm!

Excellent joystick for the money. Great software support. Very accurate movement. A little stiff for my taste and no way to adjust. You can use cable ties to compress the spring, although this relies on opening up the base and can be fiddly. Could use another button on the stick but if you buy the throttle you will have more than enough buttons at your fingertips. Buttons on the base feel cheap but i don't use them anyway. Also the orange light turns on when you move the stick and there is no way to turn it off. These are the small issues that stop me giving a 5 star review but overall a great joystick. Would recommend.

Great Joystick For the price. I bought this Primarily for the left or right hand configuration for a Dual Stick setup for Space Sims and it works flawlessly. The twist feature works excellent and very easy to use instead of pedals in Flight sims. My only gripes are that the Hat switch feels a bit too cheap and it could use a bit more weight in the Base, also the orange led's in the base turn on and off depending if the joystick was used in the last couple seconds which gets annoying after a while. Other than that the rubberized sides are a nice touch, and its quite reasonably priced considering its versatility.

19.9.2018

It is a really good joystick for the price. I used it for X-Plane 11 and FSX and it works perfectly. At rest, no displacement was shown so it was perfectly calibrated. There are a decent amount of buttons as well on the left and right side. The throttle is really well made but however sometimes, it is really easy to move the throttle while holding the stick, but that is a user issue. The only issue is that to switch between left hand right hand options requires me to unglue the RH flap and glue the LH one.

1.11.2017

5 stars from me, mostly because at this price, it is hard to find something that can give me the precise adjustments that this stick allows.I have the old green one and then I bought this as a dual stick setup. I mean it does feel a little cheap but that's because it is.It's still very sturdy and my first one has lasted 3 years of at least moderate abuse and is still going strong with a small dead zone applied that is.If you are on a budget then this is the stick to choose.

9.1.2020

I have been using this for a year now, and have it set for left handed use. I use it for every PC game I play as I have restricted dexterity in my left hand and find it impossible to use keyboard (basically W,A,S,D and every other key you use with left hand) So its a year old and still going strong where other sticks have failed or buttons stop working after a few months of such intense use. would I buy it again, Absolutely Yes.

1.4.2018

Feels right in every way. Time will tell how sturdy it truly is, and how well it maintains what it is on delivery, but so far so good. Not a huge fan at all of the yellow/orange styling and lighting on this. Really isn't great. But against that, this has more buttons to map than you really would ever need unless using it completely on its own. Would recommend if you can live with the colour contrast.

Excellent joystick. I’m left handed and this stick is easy to swap between left and right setups. Plenty of buttons too, which is important if, like me, you want to use it in VR. I use it to play Elite Dangerous on the Oculus Rift and as long as you also have a throttle system too there are enough buttons to map everything needed. I’ve had this for about 6 months now and it works perfectly.

Given 5 stars for the joystick, but not too sure it was brand new the joystick was just in a plastic bag with some sellotape wrapped to close it. The box was a little battered but that could have been the delivery also no seal on the flap and the holding cardboard inside was all loose. Bit disappointed as I like to retain boxes.
