The Thomas Super Station is huge! It takes up a large amount of space when set up in the Dual Raceways layout, but it worth it because it has so much playability that it keeps my boys busy. They love it! My youngest absolutely loves Thomas so this toy was a great fit for him. It has all the major parts of Sodor so that he can play out is favorite Thomas and Friends scenes. My oldest, who is "past" his Thomas phase, loves playing with his little brother on this set. Honestly, there is so much for each of them to do that they can enjoy each other and the Super Station without ever getting in each others way.We set up the first layout with the dual race ramps and the boys connected the track and had a blast watching Track Master trains go down the ramp and then chug back up to the platform. They could do this all day! In fact, we have already had to replace the batteries in Thomas once after many hours of chuffing up the hill. The included track fits perfectly together with other iterations of Trackmaster track allowing my boys to create layout after layout all over their room. It is always nice when you can merge older sets into the newer versions. The science application of this toy is also awesome. My boys played with adding cars to the Trackmaster trains (cars not included) to see if the trains could stay on the track and make it back up the hill of the dual raceway ramps. Of course, they are not aware that they are actually doing physics experiments! My youngest loves hanging all of his minis around the base of the station because it allows him to admire his collection. He also appreciates being able to use his whole collection of old school Take and Play trains. Honestly, as a parent I love everything about the Super Station because it keeps my kids busy and engaged! Now for the parents: set up was easy and actually pretty quick. The directions were well organized and easy to follow. You only need to apply a few stickers. Keep the layout maps because it is possible to make this in a variety of configurations. From the moment my almost 5 year old saw the box, his eyes lit up like it was Christmas morning. I received the Thomas & Friends Super Station for free, in exchange for my honest opinion. Straight out of the box, you could tell this track set was going to be cool but until it's put together you have no idea the awesomeness. There are instructions for several different configurations in the box, but if you've got the space, go for maximum capacity! My son was thrilled to be able to watch 5 TrackMaster trains run simultaneously around the tracks, and he overjoyed to watch the trains plummet down the hills on either side of the roundhouse. The set comes with a few different types of trains,but the TrackMasters are our favorite - just make sure you have batteries on hand! In addition to moving your trains around the track, this set doubles for storage with room for 6 TrackMaster trains to be stored in the roundhouse and multiple other hooks and platforms to store other different types of trains. If you can get over the size of it and leaving it together in the middle of your living room, it's a really good all-in-one set. The one drawback I see, as with other TrackMaster sets, is that they are difficult for little ones to snap together and configure without the support of an adult. My son gets frustrated when he wants to move the tracks around and try different configurations but can't do it on his own. That being said, we snapped two additional TrackMaster sets on to this one to make it even more enormous. The giddy laughter was well worth it - and he's been asking to play trains with us every day. There are two connectors in the box that have the larger rounded end to connect standard wooden tracks to the TrackMaster sets. This is a nice feature, but probably unnecessary given it's size...unless you're going to run it through your whole house. Overall this is a really nice set and I'm sure my son would rate it a 10 out of 10 if asked. My boys primarily collect the track master engines but we do have a few adventures, wooden railway and minis in our collection. So this set is great for them all.What I like most about this set is that it is very easy to put together despite looking so complex from its picture you can have the micro layout done in about 15 minutes while following the easy to read directions.So far the race track layout is our boys favorite and they also love Cranky and the Tidmouth Sheds turn table. Cranky's crane operation is easy and fun for kids to lift and move their favorite engines. The other great features of this set it that it can store over 100 engines - I am not sure if this is track master alonebut I think it is a mix of all kinds especially when you hang the minis and adventures all around it.Another plus feature is that the Super Station fits on a Train Table when using the Micro Layout- this is a great thing if you ask me and I think fisher price should add this as a selling point If you had to choose between the Super Station, Sky High Bridge Jump or Mad Dash on Sodor set - I would recommend the Super Station as it offers multiple configurations and can work with various Thomas toys!The only thing I would have added were some guard rails for the CS tracks so you could complete a loop for the racetrack configuration- but I am able to use my existing guard rails from other sets to let the trackmaster engine go up and down the Super Station without flying off the turns when they go down the hill [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was sent this product to review with my 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter. At first glance it seemed like a challenge to build but the instructions were very easy to follow, the pieces are well made and clearly labelled. The super station is bigger than I expected but pretty sturdy and once the tracks are constructed it takes up quite a lot of floor space, depending on the track layout you make. The quality of this set is very good and my son in particular has enjoyed playing with it every day since we received it a few days ago. The set comes with a battery operated Thomas as well as 2 smaller engines and a helicopter.The track set is versatile to be used with regular and micro engines and has some good features such as hanging hooks for the trains which keeps them neat and all together. Overall the set is very good, well made and easy to build. My 5 year old can build the tracks himself quite easily. With the racing and the tracks plus Tidmouth sheds there are lots of different ways for children to play with this set. It really is hours of fun for a Thomas fan but also good for any kids that enjoy playing with vehicles in general. My daughter has enjoyed playing around the top tracks with the smaller trains and operating Cranky the crane. It is definitely suitable from 3 upwards. The only criticism from my son was that there aren’t enough trains included in the set which is why it’s 4 not 5 out of 5.

Our kids wanted Super station for Minis. We own quite a lot of old Trackmaster trains and tracks and some new. It is an impressive set. Holds some interest for maybe half an hour. Like everybody states battery operated trains derail down hill. In order to close loop on the bottom and not derail, we added at least one full straight and one half length straight before closing the loop. Now; the extra tracks we used are all new type (also connectors for the old type are also provided in box), but are different from Super station tracks. On new normal tracks minis and midi trains can't operate (they get caught between high tracks ridges), the battery ones drive without problems.Wish Mattel puts this Super station ridge tracks on market. Also the top level is kind of uninteresting. It would be perfect if it closed a circle so non battery operated trains can go in loop. It is still a very nice set with limited possibility for expansion. Also old trains can't go up the new track hills, as well as new trains can't go up the old track hills even with bottom adjustments. That would be not much of a problem if they made better selection of new r/c operated trains. This set is probably the most interesting that is now available on market.

This train set is awesome! Being a mom of a boy has opened this whole new toy realm that I just didn't get. My son loves Thomas the Train and I unfortunately didn't understand the differences between the adventure sets, track master sets and wooden rail sets...well the Super Station solved that problem big time! All my son's trains work on the tracks and there are so many different ways to configure the tracks, it leads to hours and hours of fun for him! I also love that I can store many of his trains right on the set itself! This is truly an awesome toy. Definetely worth the price tag! It can be configured in many different formats depending on how much space you have and it comes with a ton of stuff!My son was excited for three new trains and Harold! It also has a working Cranky the Crane, which blew his mind! I also like that it come with adapters so that we can attach his adventure tracks and his wooden rails! I would recommend this toy to anyone who has a little train lover at home! My 3 year old is over the moon and even his 18 month old brother likes it (with supervision)! This was purchased for my son by his very generous Uncle for his 3rd birthday. There are so many designs you can put this into and it does have connectors to connect this to Brio (which is good as we have loads!) as well as other designs of Thomas track. In addition my son has lots of different types of Thomas trains and this accommodates most of them easily. And better still comes with 3 trains including motorised Thomas and Harold!!This is a VERY large set however so if you are buying it then be aware you need a fair space for it to work. And it may be worth getting more motorised trains as they are particularly fun for kids to watch going around.The track clips together easily and has some small ramps included to help design track to then run off onto the carpet/floor.As I said it also has connectors for other types of track as well as buffers and a few barrels. Cranky is an added bonus but it can be a bit tricky to get up and down for small hands.Overall a big success for my son (and his Dad!) So if you want something super special for a Thomas fan buy this!

Wow! I bought this for my son for Christmas (sadly I had to give it to him early as when it came the packaging was ripped and as he was holiday from school he saw the item - which I am upset about as this was his main present!)Anyhow with regards the toy itself - my son has many different Thomas trains (e.g.: wooden, mini's, track master etc) and this set provides usage for them all without having to get out the different tracks for the different types of trains, hence saving on floor space! My son LOVES this set, he has played with it every day since it came, it is a large set, so space will be needed. You can "hang" your trains on the set, again a great storage saver and also the trains are at hand.Lots of different track layouts can be made, also his other tracks can also be added on to make it even larger!Its just fab! Buy with confidence.I will always give a true accurate personal review, as I am an honest reviewer (I do not get paid nor do I receive any discount for my reviews!)

As soon as the big kids saw the box, they were shouting "Cool" and "Awesome" even though they hadn't played much with trains in a while. The toddler was enamored as well - "wow". They watched intently as I set up, which didn't take more than 30 minutes. So far, the kids have spent many hours playing with the trains, reformatting tracks and discovering. We have set it up alone on the ground, as well as next to a train table we have. When it is on the ground, the toy is a great height for everyone to use. This set is something my grade school-aged sons enjoy playing with their younger brother (or when he's napping). I'm excited that all of our trains fit on these tracks - metal Thomas, wooden Thomas,minis, you name it! The tracks have been staying together well so you don't have to constantly fix them. Bought it as a Christmas present. He plays with it for hours. He has minis, medium, wood and track master. The connection from the blue downhill wish it had another tower as the small connection is easy to lose and you don’t get an extra or additional to buy online. The top part is the perfect height but my son keeps asking me to make a bridge so that it goes full circle. Pity there wasn’t an attachment you could buy to add on to make it into a full circle. I have other parts so I try and make a circle of towers and tracks.There are so many videos in Thomas about shakey shakey bridges that would be nice to have one!! Would love to buy an attachment of the steamworks,diesel works add ons to make a sodor island. Yes at the bottom the battery operated do fall off with the speed I added 2 yellow bends on either side that stopped them from falling off and also linking linking track so they could race go own 1 side and up the other.
