The bad first: a lot of people have compared this to BOTW I agree that some of it does look and feel like a clone...it seems to have only cloned what was so annoying. The stamina bar when climbing and gliding. The open world feels empty with a lack of NPCs...I was hoping to break up the grind by interacting with town people and random encounters to get a laugh and some side quests. Sadly the world whilst it looks good is full of enemies and all work and no play makes Fenix a dull peep. I would have liked more of what worked being that this has taken many aspects of BOTW. The puzzles are a thing it doesn't do well. The vaults in BOTW were scattered just like the puzzle vaults here but lack the challenge.I haven't needed youtube cheat walkthroughs once in my 8 hours of play which makes me feel like this is over simple. The exploration aspect isn't rewarding and there is no surprising things to find...all points of interest can be seen and marked from various high places. It makes the exploration just uninspired and not very rewarding and if you're anything like me just walking around an open world to unwind and discover is one of the big things of open worlds..not with this one.The good: this is a good looking game with lots of space to run around in which is also the games weak point as open worlds are now so often empty spaces. The upgrading system has more choices than i'm used to but it is good to be able to choose between upgrading godly powers or your skills. The narration between Zeus and Prometheus are fun. The fighting is good.Overall an entertaining and good looking game but missed the mark a little for me.

I can only speak for myself, but this game is one of my favourite games I've ever played. I think it is a worthy of comparison with BOTW. Fenyx plays in a very very similar way - but with the art and culture of greek mythology; what's not to love here? I'm about 10 hours in and I really really love this game. I personally only play it in hand held mode and this feels like the way the game was meant to be played. I love the art style and the culture and architecture which really immerse the gamer into the fantastical world. It is not gritty, it really is a beautiful world to roam and explore. I love the narrative and fresh comical (yet weighty) approach to story telling. This game for me does something a game hasn't done for 20 years. Bring the massively overused Greek mythology back to gaming, and get it right. This game isn't groundbreaking, but it has done something which I've been waiting 10 years for. For me it fits the bill perfectly. Good graphics which are suited to hand held mode, open world, greek mythology (done well and freshly), solid rewarding combat, character development... This game fills a massive gap for me, a gap that has been waiting to be filled since 2000. An RPG open world, greek mythology game in the style of Zelda BOTW. One of my favourite games of all time so far, only topped by Zelda BOTW, Witcher 3, Skyrim and the classics. Although not a genre defining game this game brings together superb elements from other titles to open world greek mythology. Its not a game of the decade, but for me it is one of my favourite games I've ever played.

I have certain rules and criterias when picking up a Switch game. Owning an Xbox Series X, I have the luxury of 4K gaming, but I am willing to trade that for portability for certain games. The game has to run smooth and look good on a reasonable level for portability. Immortals is such a game. Yes it looks and takes things from Breath Of The Wild, but BotW also took things from the Witcher 3, it happens in gaming and other media. Immortals is its own thing, on the surface it might not seem like it, but it is once you get into it. Ubisoft has also been updating Immortals and giving it patches making it better and better every time. It's obviously not going to look like your 4K version on PC or Xbox SX,but portability in such a beautiful open world game with stable frame rate is literally a miracle. Easily Ubisofts best game of the year and possibly the best new IP on Switch this year. I was always going to wait for Immortals to drop in price with Cyberpunk out a week later, but now that 2077 is a disaster, I got to pick up this gem for only £30 two weeks after release! This is a game for all ages, and will last you many many hours like the open world Assassin's Creeds games!

Enjoyable enough game which fans of Fable would enjoy, an open world, puzzle filled, baddie busting game with beautiful cartoon graphics however, apart from the opening level, pre credits, it seems awfully difficult to beat some of the initial antagonists even on 'normal' setting which I've been on, plus it's quite hard to level up health and stamina too. Coupled with various gems, mushrooms, potions, pomegranates (yes - the fruit), needed to strengthen your character as you go along and the constant cut scenes and 'god' chatter, earmarks that it gets four stars because of it's slow pace and would have got five it was quicker or got to the gameplay point faster. Having said that, there's lots of quests, the puzzles are good and it's fun if as I said, slow and hard going at times. One more whinge though, I'm not a fan of games that try to make you pay in game purchases, which I suspect is why it's so tough to upgrade your character to stop 'dying' so much. Ubisoft and Microsoft need to stop milking gamers so much sometimes, so I'm sticking with four stars maximum.

Playing on XsXIts very different for a studio like Ubi and obviously heavily inspired by Zelda but also other games like Odyssey or Tsushima..I can even sense a bit of Monster Hunter World vibes in it. I don't see anything wrong with making a game that has many influences if the result is a solid new game and thats what it is.The story and characters are funny. Not cringy Borderlands style funny but genuinely witty and clever with its modern world references and humor (the Amazon Tracking kit). The campaign is long and will take awhile if you have a life.Although Im not a huge fan of the constant puzzling, the rewards are cool.Technically its amazing. First game on the XsX (I finished Valhalla already on my older xbox)and the graphics are out of this world. Such a beautiful game and no bugs whatsoever.I can also see this as an excellent Switch game and will probably get that version in the future.

As someone who has played over 250 hours of both BOTW and The Witcher respectively, this game is a fantastic open world addition. I've been looking for a new open world game for AGES but I just couldn't find anything I enjoyed - I had my eye on this game but wasn't sure due to some of the reviews, which in my opinion are completely unfounded. I personally wouldn't compare it to BOTW at all, yes there are similar game functions, it's an open world RPG after all. I'm 30 hours in and I've hardly done any of the main story, there are plenty of interesting and challenging side missions to do - plenty of foes and mini bosses, rewards and extra content. The graphics are beautiful, with great characters (the voice acting is awesome, added humor lightens the whole feel of the game). It's made me want to research Greek Mythology more in depth and I'm excited to see where this game takes me!

I love this game. Is it like a cheap BotW? Maybe, but it is fun and carefree - lots of humour and it definitely has it's own art and charm. The mechanics are smooth with a decent leveling system. The approach to Greek Mythology is amusing and the kind of thing you find yourself thinking you are clever for knowing. The transmogrification option is simple and a welcome asthetic. The puzzles are tricky but very achievable, the enemies too. I am taking my time and I think I will get at least 100 hours out of it. All in all it is extremely rewarding and fun, I have recommended it to everyone I know.As for service,it's Amazon so of course it was prompt and great - I am just a bit ticked off as someone who bought it at release that it dropped £20 within a month of release -.-

Immortals Fenyx Rising on switch.I ordered Monday 14th December and was delivered on the 15th, so very prompt delivery indeed, this item was sold and dispatched by Amazon.I'm currently in Covid-19 isolation and wanted to get a decent title to crack on with during this period. I've watched numerous videos on this game, read many good reviews so I took the plunge.Only an hour into the game currently but the graphics are great, great tongue in cheek story and narration. And the world is eye catching and detailed and the roaming and battles have been cool, so far so good.I'd definitely recommend this title, apparently it borrows heavily from Zelda in its open world appearance etc but it differs enough to be a great title in itself.

Amazing game! I'm so glad I took a chance and bought this. I had heard of this game at the time of purchase but I hadn't read any reviews or the summary of the game's storyline. I read it was about Greek mythology with action and I was sold (I love history). This game is a brilliant mix of action fighting (hack and slash), puzzles and humour between characters. Character appearance customisation is somewhat limited but with clothes/weapons/pets the options are vast! I think I'm nearly finished with the game but there is a DLC pack available too which I may get because this game is honestly amazing. If you have played and enjoy Zelda Breath of the Wild, Skyrim and love a bit of humour please give this a go.You won't be disappointed.

This is a game for you if:- you loved zelda breath of the wild and want more of that- enjoy greek mythology- like greek style movies where the gods mess with/cheer on the hero- like big open worlds with lots of treasure- a great and hilarious storyFenyx is not for you if:- you dont like greek mythology- want a linear story- hate ubisoft and their open world games- had enough of skill treesFenyx tells a great tale of a regular joes rise to hero and legend with some hilarious commentary from zeus and Prometheus and being greek theres alot of subtle adult jokes in there that only adults would get too.Take my advice the whole game is animated and written as if fenyx is a girl so play as a guy trustme you wont regret it :)

This has been described as a Breath of the Wild clone, and there's certainly a resemblance, with a very large open world to explore, problem-filled "vaults" to traverse, and lots of enemies to fight. I'm only part way through, but I've enjoyed it a lot. The Switch graphics look good, the world is varied (although similar problems occur in the different vaults, as was the case in Zelda). You can vary the difficulty of the enemies, but the vaults remain the same, and some are challenging both physically and mentally, particularly the "god vaults". Zeus and Prometheus give a slightly annoying running commentary. You can ignore that, but that was the only downside for me.I can't imagine many people will regret buying this game.

When I put the game on I was really unsure if I’d continue. The start sequence is long and nothing much happens, interspersed with lots of random dialogue and a multitude of slightly overwhelming features. I am now about 20 hours in and I feel like I have barely scratched the surface. The game looks lovely, the world is enormous, the content seems almost endless and it’s truly immersive. So, it takes a while to get going, but the rewards are worth the effort. The puzzles are challenging rather than frustrating, the combat challenging, not too easy or too difficult and the storylines are involved without detracting from all of the positives that you encounter along the way. A brilliant new title, highly recommended.

I've been playing this for just over 12 hours now and I've barely scratched the surface. There's something to keep you entertained around every corner and lots of puzzles, quests and combats to encounter. Some of the puzzle areas are pretty hard and at times frustrating but the sense of accomplishment when you have completed them is rewarding. It looks gorgeous on the switch. There's the odd drop in frame rate on occasion but it's never more than a slight distraction. The story is fun too with a quite funny script to boot. I might be in the minority but I'm actually enjoying this more than BOTW. Hands down my favourite game I've played this year.

What's not to like ? Godlike powers, massive open-world environment, tricky puzzles, laser beams, mythical beasts and, oh yeah, you have wings !Seriously though, the game has a decent difficulty gradient but you do have to change to a different quest line quite frequently as you find you don't have the right skill combinations yet.The God vaults are another thing altogether and require a significant investment of time and ingenuity to complete before you can progress to the later stages.Requires a bit of grinding during the later stages but enjoyable as you tend to do less running away and more smiting.
