This is a very good hammer. I bought it for my blacksmith workshop at my home. I also use it where i work as a stainless steel fabricator. Its a handy compact sledge. First job was to apply paint remover and strip off the varnish and paint from the ash handle. Then rub in linseed oil. This has become my favourite tool in the shop.

The Gedore Rot-Band series of hammers seems to have attracted a very loyal following on certain online forums. The hammer has a metal collar and bolt through the hammer head that makes it feel very solid and well made.
