I'm a sucker for a hardwood shaft and this is just a pleasure to use. Whether you're applying or removing nails, or just gripping the shaft on a quiet afternoon this is the hammer for you. My previous model (Stanley 151941 16 oz Anti Vibration Claw Hammer) was a solid performer but my hand tended to get sweaty on the rubber grip and it set off the metal detector at my local nightclub. In contrast I can slip past security unnoticed with this baby.

I always prefer a wooden handled hammer to the fibre glass ones .last much longer. and are always stronger and can take more force for pulling out nails etc ..good quality hammer from Silver line 24 oz so not to light either hard wood handle .used properly .last you yrs and yrs ..fast delivery from amazon as always .had mine free delivery to local shop .would I recommend this hammer definitely well done amazon bargain price to

A good, old fashioned, practical tool which will most likely outlast me and be used by my grandchildren in due course.Pros: Perfect weight and balance takes all the effort away from my ageing muscles, and hits the nail squarely on the head every time.Cons: None that I can find.Summary: You can pay huge amounts for fancy modern tools that won't do the job as well as this old favourite.

I bought several of these hammers to make personalised gifts with - they have very sticky labels on which required a lot of effort to remove but overall they looked great for the purpose I bought them for. My husband has used his a few times around the house and refers to it as a “nice little hammer”.

I wanted a hammer which was less than a full-weight one, but heavier than smaller ones I use for putting up pictures etc. This one proved perfect, and is beautifully balanced, and weighty enough to perform a range of heavy & lighter work. Even my wife likes using it.

It's what it says on the tin but it's not as pictured! I was hoping for a plain handle as in the picture so I could engrave names on them but handles are patterned both sides ! Not as pictured, good product fast delivery.

I wanted a light claw hammer and this one is really light. The pleasure of wood is perfect. Only the finishing touch shows some visual imperfections like irregular varnish. That's the reason for the only 4 stars.

Excellent second time around (first one the handle broke off with first use, Amazon replaced immediately so this might be indicative of a problem with this product) Second one is fine and great value for money.

This was delivered quickly, and is not the best quality hammer, but for the price a good buy. A good one if it's just to have a hammer in the house for them little jobs.

Arrived promptly and the wooden shaft feels good and well balanced in my hand. Now we will see if it up to the task but I think it is going to be okay
