I am very happy with this hammer. The 15oz short handle hammer is still a fairly large hammer, and is by no means short, about 14 inches in length. For comparison, the long handle hammers are about 16 inches long.It does differ slightly from the picture however. The black paint is matte, not shiny. The Leather grip extends about an inch further up the handle. Finally, the head is slightly differently designed, though it makes no functional difference. There is no eagle sticker on the side of the head, rather, that area is milled out on both sides. One side is stamped with the weight, the other has the letters "USA."Overall this is a fantastic multi-use hammer that should last for decades, and is made in the USA. While only 15 ounces, it does feel like it strikes like a 16oz or heavier hammer.

my work is making and erecting shed, summerhouse and pretty much anything along them lines, this hammer is the dogs, i've had a few various hammers, some rubbish some so n so, the varied Estwings i've had i've been more then happy with, only downside is people stealing them on site etc. but this hammer is by far the best i've had n used and happy i bought it now, the claw is ideal for ripping nailed 4x2 etc apart easily, the nail magnet holder on top is spot on for 1st swing in awkward positions and nail crasp on side is real handy. Shaft on this hammer is suprisingly flexible under force, very impressed,

I've tried lots of hammers over the years; I had a Douglas with a side-pull one side and side-strike on the other that I really liked, then years later tried the very similar Dalluge titanium, but the claws didn't stay sharp enough to pull trim nails. No single hammer has all of the characteristics I would like to have, but this Estwing is my current favorite. The weight is good for me; claws are great, and I like the overall balance; the feel of the handle is good too. It'll take a beating without getting damaged, and it doesn't hurt anything that it's also a nice looking tool.

I was sick of hammers breaking on me, the heads were fine just the neck of the hammer is the fail point, lots of cheaper hammers are two piece metal, wood or fiberglass. This is one piece forged steel so it will never break or bend with normal use.You know the old saying lads... You buy cheap you buy twice!!! This is well with the €45 and it will probably outlive my children's grandchildren ha!Easily the best of the midrange hammers.Full body construction.Love the quality and the features. Some of the paint comes off with use but it give it a nice patina look.

Estwing is the hammer of hammers, but this is the best one I've used yet. The swing and balance is superb. For me, this takes the place of a framing hammer and a trim hammer. The claw portion is a little shorter so it fits in tight places better; plus, it allows for more leverage when pulling out nails. It's also a great looking hammer. I would be just as happy to hang it on the wall in the living room, if my wife would let me.

I bought the short version (for carpentry), which looks exactly like the longer, framing version and not like the picture listed. There is no eagle head on the short version like it shows in the picture. The quality is great. I like the leather handle and the peened plate on the bottom. The cutout on the side to assist with nail pulling is nice. This hammer is tough and will outlive me. Me happy.

It's a wreking bar, and a hammer, I love it although it's only a 15oz it has a great swing on it ! Looks unique to the blue rubber grip so you won't see anyone on the site walking around with it claiming it's there's, if you are using it in the rain dry the handle at the end of the day or the handle could start to swell

Another hammer added to the collection! This is like a limited edition model here where I come from. We have some of these hammers here, but not this exact model. Really balanced and kind of a stud looking hammer! LOL

versatile hammer. Big enough to sink a 3" penny nail and small enough for trim and wire staples. Doesn't hit me in the back of the knees when it's in my tool belt. The leather handle is really nice

Great hammer, nearly too nice to use.. Lol only down side is the nice plate on bottom of handle, my old hammer had a latex handle so I Could tap things with it. But its a nice hammer

Had expected it to have the unique eagle emblem as advertised. Not functional but made it rather special. Disappointed that it was lacking. Company save a few cents?

Man I love this hammer. Classic Estwing style while being light and easy to handle. Long handle for big sinkers or persuading a 2x into place.

Prettiest hammer I've ever used. Seems a shame to smash it into stuff. American made and on-par with other Estwing products.

Bought this as a gift. It is a nice hammer for people who wish to take pride in their tools. Beautifully wrapped handle.

Still made in the USA that says it all when it comes to the standard of quality and craftsmanship. Thumbs up all around
