Wanted an AC unit last year but as it was so hit I couldn't find one fir sale. So I bought this unit off eBay early 2019.The unit arrived. God, it's heavy! However, managed to get it upstairs to our bedroom. I don't know how I managed without an AC unit all these years. 29/07/2019 was the hottest day/night ever an my wife and I slept like babies in a cool room. Next day everyone was sweaty and angry but we were both cool, calm and pleasant.This particular unit cools to a maximum of 17°C, has a heat pump which warms up to 24°C and also has a dehumidifier. Have tried all and they all work superbly.The unit also has a remote control which is a little difficult to use as the display panel is on top of the machine and if you're lying in bed you have to guess what the machine is doing as you can't see the panel.Also, it's a bit noisy. All portable air conditioners are noisy - this I found to be one of the quietest ones around. However, everything is made of plastic so it generates a lot of noises when it's switched on. I have made it super quiet by rolling up a small towel and putting it under the front of the machine. This induces stresses in the casing, making it more taught, therefore, really quiet. If this machine were made of aluminium or some other metal, there would be no noise issue. I suppose if it were engineered better with plastic, it would also be quieter. However, using the towel trick and lots of adjustments, a quiet operation can be achieved.Overall, I am happy with this machine and would recommend it.Read full review...
