This is not a 'verified purchase' because I live abroad and bought the unit locally, but I am just an ordinary customer. I was lucky to get an airconditioning unit just before a forecast heatwave and installed it this morning. The installation is very easy and done in about 10 minutes.Once switched on, the appliance certainly does create cool air and expel very warm air through the hose. It is relatively noisy, though, but I am more than happy to accept this as a trade off because temperatures above 25C make me feel very uncomfortable and I hope this unit will keep me reasonably cool even when outside temperatures reach 38C.For now,I give it 4 stars; I will upgrade it after the heatwave actually hits.UPDATE: We've just had a week of all time record temperatures of 35C and very warm weather during the night too and I can state categorically that this air conditioning unit really does work! The unit was powerful enough to keep the whole flat cool even without running it 24h/day. We could switch it off at night and restart it in the morning when the temperature started climbing. It is brilliant and kept me comfortable throughout what would otherwise have been quite an ordeal. The 'Real Feel' setting works very well and saves on electricity by automatically switching the unit off as soon as the room 'feels' comfortable and switching it on again when it gets too hot. I cannot recommend this unit enough and only wish I had bought it earlier. I must add that we used it mostly with a window seal and that is really a must as it prevents warm air expelled through the hose from being sucked back into the room you are trying to cool. The unit and the hose take up quite a lot of space and we had to move our furniture around a bit, but it's a price I am prepared to pay for the comfort it brings.I now give it 5 stars.

Great portable Air conditioning unit and very effective; we was suffering from the rare flash unbareable summer high temperatures we get in the UK having had the British Gas Electrician remove our ceiling fans in the livingroom and bedroom after upgrading our fuse box and demanding nothing metal on the lighting so we needed another way of cooling a hot house and our sleepless nights. The De'Longhi PAC AN112 is exactly the right size and ability to deal with our requirements, we have a 20 Square metre livingroom and it dropped the temperature from 25 deg C down to a nice cool 18 deg C in about 20 minutes and even cooled the adjcent computer office room 2 degs C lower too. Advice to potential buyers, always buy an extension vent hose because the standard semi rigid hose supplied is not long enough to take the hot air outside the window. I purchased a flexible 6 metre 127mm vent hose at the same time I order this machine and it works great, slightly to long but it took the heat outside of the house. The air con has two modes, normal and silent, on silent you do have to turn the TV volume up slightly but it works. all the usual controls and does exact what it says in the video and advertisements. The remote control helps too, saves on you having to get up to change the temperature settings and even activate the silent mode if you wish. Wish I had bought this several years ago, a great purchase.

Crucial to say - that I spent some time getting this properly 'fitted' - so that the exhaust hose vents out of the room and there are no leaks to speak of. Anyone contemplating a portable air conditioner without proper venting will simply not get cold air in the room and you may well be wasting your money.Having said that - I had a portable air conditioner a decade or so ago and things have moved on somewhat since then. This is compact and pretty good looking - is heavy but pretty easy to manoeuvre - and really not too noisy. It pumps out very cold air and the controls are simple and logical to use.Elsewhere in our house we do have air conditioning with an outside compressor unit. This is about as quiet as you can get air conditioning to be. In comparison - this is noisier - but really not that bad. There's a noticeable difference on 'whisper' setting.I'd say it's about as noisy as the wall-mounted aircon you sometimes find in US Motels. There's a continuous background noise and some occasional gurgles. I'm pretty sensitive to noise - but this is definitely bearable. The fact that the noise is pretty consistent means that it does blend into the background after a while.According to the blurb on a variety of models and brands - this model is about as quiet as it gets.

I bought this to replace a 14 year old unit from another manufacturer which had reached end of life. This one is quieter, easier to control, more effective, more energy efficient and physically smaller. It isn't "silent" by any means but I have ordinary desk fans which are just as loud. I consider it to be very quiet in operation and it is certainly much quieter than my old one! The greatest advantage is that it has a re-evaporation system for the condensate so no need to plumb in a condensate drain or empty the tank every day.I suffer with allergies in the summer and this provides blissful relief and a comfortable nights sleep. The dehumidify setting is great. It will dry your washing and/or remove humid air from a room even on a cool day.If I have one gripe, it is that the connector for the hose at the back comes out at an angle and is more bulky than it needs to be.

Great air con, can be used efficiently even if you want to watch tv or sleep or take a phone call. It cools the room fast and is surprisingly effective for a monoblock air con. (Note that I waited with this review until the weather was really hit, 32 Celsius outside and I have concrete walls and South facing room, so the unit is well tested). Pipe is never long enough with these units and I had to extend it to reach the window, but I won't downrate it for this because I have 3 different monoblock aircons in my house to cover multiple rooms, and all of them needed the pipe extended, this is pretty standard thing if you want to use the top window. However, even with the extended pipe, this unit cools very efficiently and even though it's expensive compared to many other brands/models, you get what you pay for, it's definitely a top end unit.

Probably the best stand alone air conditioner on the market today. Effecient, quiet, nice design and the real feel technology takes thr guess work out of the best temperature humidity balance. Powerful 11k btu ok for 2 large rooms.

This was very welcome during the summer's heatwave. Just now (January) it's not earning its living - but it will.
