Pros:- Very fun and addictive arcade action.- 4 player online co-op as well as 2-player couch (local) co-op. Use local co-op both offline and online.- A large amount of various weapons; about 650(?)- Large number of missions.- Possibly around 600hrs of replay value.- Crazy bosses and numerous enemies to boot.- Classes are adequately benefitial to one another.- Large number of difficulties.Cons:- The fact that it's on PS3 and not PS4.- In addition to the above, there is a hardware frame rate problem on some missions.- There is a small amount of players online on the western servers.- This game is not meant to be played solo,

This game has come in for some stick by many reviewers, many of whom keep comparing it to the ps3 and Xbox versions of the game. Before them there was Global Defence Force on the ps2, a budget title with very low graphics, pop up, glitches and lag. But it was sooooo much fun and had so many levels. It was so cheesy and yet the opposite of all that has become tedious in modern gaming. Every new iteration of Call of Duty was a step further into mediocrity. GDF was never going to be a AAA title like that and never tried to be it was just fun. Killing giant insects, robots and behemoth machinery was a reminder of everything that games are at their core and what got me into gaming decades ago.I eagerly bought the sequels that arrived on the ps3 and Xbox 360 bit they both seemed different games.

Bought this for my son who said this game is sick. Which is these days supposed to be the new word for excellet. The game is relatively simple you select the character you want to be then go and destroy giant insects collecting armo and trophy's along the way. Can play two player split screen either with or against each other. There is also the option of playing against others online.

A great game for a low price, lots of levels to go through with 4 very different types of fighters.If the levels don't entertain you enough then the sheer mass of unlockable equipment and weapons will.I would best recommend this for more than one person, but you can still have fun going solo.
