I bought this pen from a local department store just over a year ago in this exact finish here are my impressions after a year of use.The pen comes in a nice presentation box, with two black cross ink cartridge. The pen takes standard Cross cartridges or the orange Cross piston converter (for use with bottled ink). The pens has a very pleasant modern design which is particularly suited to those who prefer slim pens. The barrel and cap have fine chiseled lines which reflect the light and gives the pen a professional appearance this pen seems to age well and the finish hides any small scuffs marks which have occurred from me dropping the pen occasionally.The medium-width steel nib is very smooth and is comparable to similarly priced pens from other leading brands I own such Parker,

A good just above entry level all-metal fountain pen from Cross. The lacquer and gold-trimmed Medalist versions offer the same performance in slightly more presentable finishes.The pen is slim-line and lightweight and not too long or broad. This would make the pen an excellent first fountain pen or a pen for those unused to a greater bulk or weight.The nib is typical Cross, steel but quite smooth when brand new, and it will improve with moderate use. Cross do not offer a wide range of nib grades, fine and medium are those offered and the fine nibs are less easy to find. However the medium is a little on the narrow side but all Cross pens tend to write quite wet,

I was delighted with my purchase of Cross 3509-ms chrome fountain pen as I already have the roller pen. Now I have got myself the set which I'm delighted with. Fountain pen is a lovely writer. When my case is open easy to choose fountain pen from roller pen as chrome dot on tip of it.

Enjoying the luxury of a fountain pen again. And it actually does improve my writing slightly as it makes me want to write decently. Mind you it has a long way to go to overcome the damage done by 40 years of scribbling with a ballpoint.

Once again, another super item from Cross. There's no doubt it has improved my handwriting. Lightweight and portable, yet classy, this is the ideal fountain pen for everyday use or to show off in the office.

Super smooth writing although the ink cartridge only fills up to three-quarters full. I always carry my Waterman ink with me so I can fill as needed. Beautiful pen and a good weight to it.

for a slender, lightweight, smooth fountain pen, this is one of the best you can get. having tried a fair number of pens, this is by far and away the best ive tried.

By far the best pen I have owned. Writes fantastically and is the first pen I choose. Fit and finish are top notch, as to be expected, for an excellent price.

Looks pretty nice actually and comfortable to hold. Planed to used it as backup, but the ink dries quickly, with its original cartridge.

I have been using this pen since it arrived. Smooth and easy to work with and believe it or not my hand writing has gotten better.
