A beautiful looking pen, I got it as a gift for my wife and she loves it. A bit on the heavy side since the cap and the barrel are made of some metal, but not too heavy. It writes smoothly with a bit of feedback, the nib is a bit drier than I'd like, the feed keeps up nicely when writing fast. The nib is stiff, no flex whatsoever, pretty much no line variation, so it's definitely a steel nib - there is no way this is an 18K gold nib, especially not at this price (this pen's page on the Cross website makes no mention of a gold nib). All in all, a decent fountain pen.

This pen is stunning! There are not a lot of overtly feminine pens out there, especially high quality ones. But this Cross Botanica Fountain Pen is absolutely both! When I received the pen, it was even more gorgeous in person, than online! The artwork on it is spectacular, with flowers and swirls of various shades of green and teal. There are also accents/outlines of purple and blue. There are gold swirls and dots engraved in just the right arrangement, making it reflect the light beautifully.
