This Crayola Paper Fantastic comes in a large box and makes a substantial birthday present to unwrap. The contents of the box are simple, well laid out and consist of : 1 x Paper Fantastic unit, 1 x plastic stencil, 1 x glue stick, 3 x Crayola felt tip pens, 60 x sheets of coloured tissue paper and 4 x A5 card templates to make various 3D creations. The instructions could have been better, there are step by step diagrams but very little written support to take you through what you should be doing. This said the concept is quite simple and all you really do is use a plastic template to run glue is straight lines on the tissue paper which gets layered up.once you have layered enough sheets of tissue paper you can then cut out one of the various designs which creates a honeycomb 3D paper creation. My two children five and six particularly liked making the hot air balloon card and also the stand along decorations. The concept is simple and engaging but there is quite a bit of supervision required for younger children. It would have been nice if the instructions told you how many sheets of tissue paper to layer up, our first attempt was a little short so the results weren't great. Once we got the hang of it we were really pleased with the results. There is a fair bit of cleaning to do before packing up, the plastic template gets covered in glue. Also the tissue paper wouldn't last long, we have used over half already (do craft shops sell tissue paper the right size to fit with this product or would every sheet have to be cut to size? could be quite time consuming). In summary this is a really good craft kit, simple and engaging, with better instructions and more tissue paper provided I would have given it five stars.

This is actually a really good, fun, craft toy but is sadly let down by poor instructions. The instructions in mine are the 'universal' type, i.e. no words just pictures and arrowsto try to explain what to do.After my first go I was ready to throw the toy away but after my daughter's insistence wehad another go and eventually deciphered the pictures and ended up with some pretty impressive results. It really is a matter of being persistent and trial and error. If you want quick, no fuss results thendon't buy this. But if you have a little patience and understand that creativity can take time and practicethen give it a go.And if Crayola ever read reviews, please don't skimp and start putting written instructions in with the toy!

I never would have thought it possible to make the kind of honeycomb paper that's used for Christmas bells and garlands, but this is a clever device that helps you do it. You have to read the instructions quite carefully, but the results are wonderful, and with a bit of practice you can make all kinds of fun decorations. Young children may need a little help.

My daughter was given this as a birthday present. We immediately set to and found the mechanism brilliant. An otherwise difficult activity to do well was made incredibly easy and the finished results were colourful and professional looking. A great product and I recommend it to everyone.
