This is a lovely pepper mill. The wood is smooth and an attractive colour. It is comfortable to grip and you can tell that quality materials have been used. It is the traditional design, where the screw in the top is used to both adjust the grind and refill the mill. I have tried and chucked out far too many pepper mills due to them not grinding well, or breaking after a few months. This one feels like it might be a keeper - at last. The grind setting goes from reasonably fine to big flakes. It won't do the fine dust that you get in pre-ground pepper from the supermarket. Like all mills of this design, it does leave a little pepper where it stands.

This is a brand with impeccable credentials- you know you're buying quality with Cole and Mason, and this seems a wholly reasonable price for such a well modelled and ergonomic kitchen essential that would make a fine housewarming gift. Other reviewers have described very eloquently the advanced mechanism that really makes the most of the flavour potential of your pepper. I am partially disabled, and found the action of this pepper Mill very easy to use, which is not the case with every other brand. I can see this being a feature of your kitchen for a very long time if not a lifetime : classic design and a winning product in every sense.

I have to admit when I saw the price tag I expected this to be the most amazing pepper mill ever made, like a pepper mill and time machine in one or something, unfortunately it isn't going to take me back in time but it will grind my pepper corns to perfection.It's nice to look at, a subtle classy style you see all over but it oozes quality when it's picked up. The smooth finish is that good it could easily slip out your hands and the overall finish is again top class.Cole and Mason always sell high quality products and it can be seen in this..

This Cole & Mason Sherwood mill is a well-made pepper mill and performs its intended task with ease. It has nice tactile shape and small enough for an easy grip. The grinding mechanism works well and can be adjusted to suit the user’s needs. When empty the mill is easy to refill.This is a solid pepper mill, which should be up to the task. This is a mill, which has an attractive design and traditional styling.

Such a lovely smart pepper mill that gives an excellent, coarse grind to peppercorns for a multitude of dishes. Being would it needs a bit of tlc and I've been using it for over a week and wiping it carefully and it still looks good. It is superb quality and makes such a pleasant change to acrylic ones that get all chipped and marked ...Refilling is a doddle.Highly recommended.

Beautifully made and finished grinders. Adjustable grinding coarseness and a really good grinding 'feel'. I'd say the colour is a little more caramel than on the Amazon picture - I think the Cole and Mason website has a more accurate colour representation.Would be 5 stars but the 'S' and 'P' on the metal top of the grinders is a little hard to read from some angles

I have Cole & Mason supermarket bought Salt and Pepper mills with plastic mechanisms already but this is bigger and looks wise it's a lot more stylish. Built to last, the steel mechanism effortlessly grinds the pepper and you can adjust the grind using the top tightening screw. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. I've ordered the salt mill to compliment it.

This is the second pepper mill I've had by Cole and Mason and as before, the quality of this item is lovely. It did come packaged in a plain cardboard box but I can assume that's because it was for Vine.Looks very elegant, would also make a nice gift. This one didn't come with pepper in it, unlike my previous pepper mill.

This is a great quality wooden Pepper Mill . The Cole & Mason Sherwood from DKB Household will look good on any kitchen top or dining room table. Screw the top down fairly tight to get a finer grated spread of pepper. This pepper mill should last for years and years...happy eating :).

This is a terrific pepper mill. It looks elegant. A paleish wood colour being particularly nice. The milling mechanism is adjustable and produces various sizes of “grind”.It looks as though it will last a very long time.A similarly elegant salt mill is available too.

I really like this pepper mill. Really tactile, and just the right weight. It grinds peppercorns very effectively and evenly so you can control how much you add to your food or cooking. It also looks good. So smooth. Recommended.

This is so good we threw away a couple of other grinders we've had for a very long time. Grinds the pepper as fine as it needs to be unlocking the many flavours. Just what we needed.

This is a nice size and it feels nice to hold. It looks expensive and well made. It's easy to fill and easy to use. I just need another for my salt now!
