Due to personal preference in taste, I did not enjoy this quite as much as the white, although I found that there was still and abundance of refreshing, wood, herbal and bittersweet flavour that was enjoyable, and complimentary to the palate. Overall, I found this one to be slightly more sour, as apposed to sweet, and the flavour of liquorice comes through rather strongly. Still, I'd purchase this again, as it really the perfect drink to take with ice during the warmer months. The perfect aperitif, and it knocks the pants of Pimm's and Martini in my opinion - ideal for garden parties or the occasional summer evening sip. For me, this is the king of vermouths. Moderately sweet but not as sugary as some more well-known brands, with deep and subtle herbal notes that bear dwelling on - again, unlike those major brands you just want to get down quick or mix with something else. The ideal aperitif over ice, or if you need a bolder pick-me-up, add a dash of Fernet-Branca bitters.The Cinzano family's red grape vines succumbed to the rot which swept though Italy a good many years ago. They have been patiently restocking from a few vines saved in a greenhouse. This is a welcome return for a top quality product once made enormously popular by the actor Leonard Rossiter at the height of his Reginald Perrin fame.No wonder

This is the king of red vermouths, deeply subtle, neither over-dry nor over-sweet and with a faint hint of bitterness. Truly sophisticated. It is at last coming back on the market after a disastrous rot almost wiped out the grape vines it relies on. Drink it as an aperitif neat, on the rocks with a twist of lemon zest, or with a dash of Fernet Branca bitters - or try it in those cocktails you usually chuck those cheap, bland, over-sweet brands into.

Bought to add to our Garage Pub Cocktail list, taste ok but I suppose it’ll be much better in cocktails.I understand Amazon need to check ID for Alcohol, etc but at nearly 47 being made to find my ID to prove my age first thing on a morning is a bit much, don't get me wrong I'd love to be mistaken for a under age girl but it's a real stretch of the imagination after 25 years of marriage and 3 kids (all grown up 20+). ?

Well, I did not bought it to drink but my mother did and I can tell you that she did enjoy it. This wine is kind of sweet but not too much she told me and she totally loved the drink. I would recommend it for that :D

It's Cinzano what more needs to be said?I use a lot of vermouth for cooking and for some strange reason there has been a hold-up in supply during COVID-19. Next day delivery from Amazon....perfect!

Brought it as Dad's birthday present , i know he hasn't had any for a long time. So he was suprised when I got some for him. Has you don't see it in shops much anymore.

For use in homemade negronis. I haven't actually yet tried it on its own as a vermouth as it doesn't seem to last that long.
