My grandson aged 15 months is fascinated with the household Dyson but of course this is deemed "unsuitable" as a plaything. Well done Casden for recognising this opportunity to offer a smaller and lighter version which is indeed suitable. It has given lots of pleasure and so far has not broken. A key point is that it stands up on its own. Indeed the little chap has only just started to walk and gripping the handle helps him up.I read previous reviews before I splashed out. The three position switch "off/wand suction/growling noise" is not stiff so maybe the makers have listened. However push buttons would have been preferable to a slide switch.Indeed the cleaner does not pick up from the maincarpet fitting on "growl" setting but there is suction through the flexible tube on the first on setting. Although weak it will pick up "crumbs" of polystyrene packing material. I would recommend this toy.Added 9th Feb 2013 - Ten months later my Grandson still loves this toy. He is strong enough now to have no problem with the slide switch and has learned to switch off after "use" to save the admittedly expensive batteries. Most electrical toys nowadays have a feature which automatically powers off after a few minutes and this would be an improvement. The plastic construction is not particularly strong and several repairs with glue and tape have been required. Fun per pound? Still 5 star.

I bought this item as my 18 month old Grandson loves the vacuum cleaner (proper household version)! At home he has a Henry toy vacuum and I intended to buy one for him to use at our house. However, on reading the reviews I opted for this one; apart from the positive feedback I thought he would like this model as Nana has a Dyson too! It arrived promptly and was quickly put to good use...The result??...I am still aching one whole day later as he used the Dyson from the time he arrived for his visit -around 11.30am until he left at 4.30pm (only resting to eat and have a nap)! Obviously due to his age he requires constant supervision, so I had to follow him around the house whilst he 'vacuumed'...hence the reason I am feeling like I've had a workout! He enjoyed it so much we decided to let him take it home and we are buying another for him to use here! It's so easy for him to manouvre and the sounds, the 'dust' action and suction make it all the more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this toy :)

Super cute little hoover toy! My son is obsessed with our Hoover and will always follow it around as we 'try' to hoover up. We bought him this for his first birthday and although he is under the recommended age for it he still gets lots of fun out of it and at 13 months was able to push it around like he was really hoovering! We store it with the real Hoover so that it is more exciting for him when it comes out. The Hoover itself is well made with a few little attachments he'll be able to play with when he gets a bit older. When switched on it whips the little rubber pieces up into a cyclone or you can use another mode for really hoovering up little pieces of paper etc.We haven't tried that yet but he really just seems to love pushing it around. I should say however he is on the 98th centile for height and has only just began to start pushing it around without constantly tripping. Smaller toddlers may find it a little tricky to handle.

My one year old little girl got the yellow version of this (wanted the pink one but not available when we ordered) for Christmas.it is my favourite present she got this year. it is so cute and when you turn it on the "dust" spins around in the cylinder so it looks like it is actually cleaning.when you use the attachments and the hose there is actually a little bit of suction.only thing not great is that the wheels squeak a little bit but just might need a little oil on them. One year old wasn't keen on it on xmas day because of the noise it made (however its not where near as noisy as some of her other toys or a real hoover which she isnt scared of)but by the 27th she was pushing it around the living room as i used our real hoover.

I was a little nervous about buying this as several reviews talked about the hinged front falling off, the attachments being too stiff for little hands to operate, and the suction being very weak (IT'S A TOY!). Whilst these observations are all true, they haven't stopped my grandson from loving this toy Dyson. He spends hours walking around the house with it, and when the hinged front falls off due to him being heavy-handed, it's easy for an adult to clip it back on again. Adults can also help with the attachments, and enjoy the opportunity of being a hero. The suction hose is actually capable of hoovering up small pieces of tissue paper etc, which is also lots of fun when you're 2.

I was abit worried after reading the reviews that were all quite negative towards the durability of this toy saying it breaks easily but after receiving this I'm very pleased!! My son is two years old and loves it..yes it will break if it's thrown around as all toys would but it's bright colours and the beads that spin make it a really fun toy..the suction comes from the hose not the Hoover (let's be honest if it came from the Hoover we wouldn't be buying dysons at £200+ and may possibly be busted for unage labour)!! Overall really happy so don't be put off buying this toy if your little one is anything like mine he's spends his day trying to do what mummy and daddy do and loves it!

Immediately became a firm favourite with my one year old son - toy of choice 50% of play time. Fantastic that it really picks up bits with nossle attachment (very noisy doing so though). Sadly played with by visiting friends (aged one and two - who also loved it) who are a bit rougher and quickly the plastic that fixes the front on broke so will not push forward. So much play value though going to have to get another for my son - he loves it that much!Have contacted Dyson, who say that they are aware of this weakness and are bringing out a newer improved model from end September 2009, if you get one you might like to check it's the new model.

This is a lovely colourful toy with a noise to replicate the real thing. Bought as a birthday gift for granddaughter I would love to be able to award 5 stars but am not unable to monitor how it stands up to the vigorous attempts at 'hoovering' by an enthusiastic 2 year old who loves to help with everything involved in caring forr two continuously moulting dogs. She tries to hold onto the lower handle of the large Dyson when hoovering up the fur and now has her own 'machine' which she delights in wielding around the house. I hope the construction is as robust as it appears to be and matches the great colours and wonderful design.

I had been looking for a hoover for my little girl for a long time, but didn't want to spend too much money on it, i thought that the price of this on Amaaon was very reasonable. My little girl always likes to help Mummy when she is cleaning, so this is brilliant. It looks like you are hoovering up stuff when you turn it on. And acutally picks things up off of the floor when you use the nozzle part of the hoover, you can also empty the bites from the hoover and pick them up, they go into a box at the back on the hoover so that you can put them back, geneous. This hoover actually looks like a Dyson Hoover its brilliant!

We bought this for our 4-year old son who is in love with anything mechanical. The first day he had it, he played with it literally ALL day. We had to replace the batteries after the 2nd day, because he used it so much.We took tissue paper (that you'd use in gifts) and cut up tiny squares for him to vacuum up. He'd vacuum them up, empty the bin, and then vacuum them all over again. There were a few times we realized the paper was getting clogged and we just had to blow into the suction handle to clear the blockage. Our son thought it was fun and it became part of his cleaning routine to "clear the blockage".

Kiddies love grown up things just like mom or dad's so i bought my Granddaughter this as her mom has exact same real one,My granddaughter has had several either bad qualty or not interested as not like mommy's,now she uses everyday and like mommy she uses hose with attachment for stairs lol,i think the joy she gets from it is great and i remember buying my son an hoover when he was 2 and was told it would make him gay(loony tunes) my son loved his too and he now help his wife hoover so i think unisex toy and i have never met a gay person who decided they were because they played with an hoover lol

My grandson was 12 months when I ordered this as he wouldn't leave me or my husband alone when we were using our Dyson. He is now 15 months & it's the 1st thing he looks for when he arrives. It has given him so much pleasure & fun. It's the best 20 quid I've ever spent! He is really rough with it & broke off 1 of the wheels but I stuck it back on with epoxy putty & it's as good as new. Unlike our ankles that sometimes get rammed. The only criticism I have is the front wheels are really squeaky so it's quite noisy if you are watching tv but it's a small price to pay for a happy child.

My little boy adores this vacuum! It’s well made, sturdy and lovely and bright. It’s just like mummy’s vacuum so he’s over the moon with it! It’s on constantly, when I finally manage to switch it off once he’s fallen asleep, I worry I’ve gone deaf! It does vacuum up through the pipe but the suction is very minimal, he’s resorted to just dropping bits down the pipe so I’ve removed one star. A little tweak to make the suction slightly stronger and this would be perfect. As it is, I’m still exceptionally happy with my purchase and would recommend! Good price and fast delivery too.

Although I read all the reviews and I was a bit sceptical I went ahead & bought this for my 3 year old boy for Christmas. He is scared of my Dyson so I thought this might help him & it did. He absolutely loved it and even became less afraid of the real thing, he even started using my little hand held Dyson! So for that alone it was well worth it. It does use batteries quite quickly but my little boy used it every day almost the whole day. I wasn't as flimsy as I expected but I could see that it wasn't a toy for life but for under £15 I have been very pleased with my purchase.

Bought this toy for my son. He is scared of the real dyson and I thought it might help. It has made him a little less scared, but more than that...it is the only toy he really plays with anymore since we bought it. He loves it! It is the first toy he asks for when he wakes up or comes home after being out.7 weeks after we bought it the hose snapped. I emailed the supplier on a Sunday to say I wasn't happy and would have expected it to last longer. A replacement hose arrived through the post on Tuesday morning. Absolutely excellent customer service. Thank you very much.
