this Electronic backseat driver has been a real hit with our grandson. He loves being able to turn (and turn and turn!) the wheel. He is not too bothered about the various noises it will make (he is not yet two so is in to making his own noises at the moment) but we did take up on the suggestion to put a piece of sticky tape over the speaker which does tone it down a bit and help to preserve the sanity of the front seat passenger and driver. It isn't the most robust toy but the fragility comes from the two arms and this is easily coped with - short of having a custom made and fitted back seat steering wheel I don't see how this could be overcome. All the same,it isn't really a problem. One thing I would say is it doesn't stop the fascination and desire of his with the front seat steering wheel. He still wants to climb in get hold of that (when the car is parked, I hasten to add!) If anything it increases his desire...All in all a really good toy. I would recommend it.

I got this for my 2yr old son as he always wants to sit in the driver seat of my car. He absolutely loves this. It makes car journeys so much more peaceful! It's very cheaply made but considering the price and purpose I have no issue with that. The place where the toy keys fit in is a bit fiddly for him and he does get frustrated when he cant reach to put it in as it's partially behind the steering wheel. Also, the toy phone is literally just a rectangular piece of plastic lol and it falls off the phone holder very easily. It's easy to fit together and you can use the steering wheel without the base too if you find it to be too bulky. My only problem is that my 5yr old fights my 2yr old to use it.I would say it's great for ages from 2 upto about 7. I am definitely going to buy another one for my 5yr old daughter. Love it!

Had this bought for me as a kid back in the late 1970s and had many hours of fun with it. Back then the dashboard was card, and there was no mobile phone, of course. The suction cup never stuck to anything, but that didn't matter since you were better off simply gripping it between your legs when driving. I see this updated version already has a device for doing just that, and it looks as if all the dials can be moved on the dashboard, which is cool. I read on one of the other reviews that their child binned the mobile phone once they realised it wasn't a smart phone, but even Commissioner Gordon on Gotham has an old phone, if last week's episode is anything to go by. At under a tenner it's chip as chips, and given to any child still capable of using their imagination will provide many hours of fun.

Our 2 year old Grandson Charlie's constant plea "Wheel, wheel, wheel" to our daughter before she could actually get in herself and drive the car has finally been replaced with a permanent smile. The backseat driver happily turns his own keys, talks on his phone, twiddles the dials and finally turns his own wheel. The suction to the window only takes a few seconds to do, but once in place he is as happy as Larry as they say. It is great to see him grinning as they drive away now from our home, instead of him crying to stand in the front seat and play with her controls - not something we were all entirely happy with, for obvious reasons. We think he is either going to be a mechanic or a racing driver he is so obsessed.Peace reigns finally for our daughter in the car - phew!.

After giving away a hardly used steering wheel toy my son had to the charity shop, I was looking for something a bit more useable to get him, to teach him some driving skills(!) & keep him busy in the back of the car. I was not disappointed with this! Previous reports have said its a bit flimsy but I really haven't found this to be true. Its been thrown in the car on numerous journeys, stuck to the patio doors at home & is really one of his favourite toys. Plus my 2 year old seems to have grasped the face that the brakes slow you down, the gear change lets you go faster & the hooter makes people move out of the way. Yes its noisy, but less noisy than a bored toddler!10/10!

My 2 year old loves this - We are a car fanatic family, so naturally he wanted to "drive" mummys car all the time and would cry when he couldn't! Now he can help me drive everywhere. Great for role playing and for the money I think it is well worth it. I don't use the bottom leg part (keeps coming out) but it sticks to window fine without it. Other reviews have stated that it isn't very durable, but for under a tenner what do you expect?? Only other issue (maybe it's just me!) is getting the keys in can be tricky as the steering wheel covers the hole. Over all, my son loves it and we have no more tears when wanting to go out somewhere!

My daughter was desparate to drive our car, trouble is she's only 18 months old so Backseat driver seemed like a good idea. The product if fairly cheaply made, one of the buttons stuck in and the bracket on the back falls out easily. I took it apart and sanded the sticky button and a little masking tape on the bracket lugs makes it fit nice and tight now.As for it's "playability" it's really good, my daughter loves it. It makes alot of noise but you can always take the batteries out when enough is enough.!!Construction rating is low but fun factor is high.I'd still recommend it though, mainly as there's no alternative.

My grandson loves this. The bad bit is, the 2 'legs' to fix it in place aren't very good. The sucker is too thick and only really works if you put it in warm water for a few minutes before sticking to the window. I've done this and found it easier to leave the sucker on the window, taking the stick out when leaving the car. The other leg sits on the seat. It's ok but only if the sucker is solidly in place. The worst bit is, my grandson now uses the phone while driving :-)Seriously though, for the price, even if you don't use the legs it's a great toy for the car which really does entertain for any length of journey.

I bought this for my 2 and a half year old son and he had/still has such fun with it. The only thing I sort of don't like is that the lock in the back (where the suport legs lock) unlocks very easily. On the other hand I never saw any need to use the support system as he just seems to enjoy the wheel more as it is. The plastic is of good quality (no rough edges aso) and especially the emergency lights sound is very realistic. Also he got the grip of how to use it very easily. There is however a downside to all this. He seems more and more interested in my car's real wheel.Over all it's good value and good fun.

Bought product based on another's review for grandson's second birthday. Although we do not find it easy to fix in car - the rubber suction cup to afix on the window does not readily do so and the stand has to be wedged under the child seat to stay in place, he has had an amazing amount of fun with the keys, horn, mobile phone and the dials. It is also getting a fair amount of indoor usage and seems to have deterred grandson from climbing through and sitting on the driver's seat of the car to play with the steering wheel and all the buttons and switches. Not expensive and worth it for the level of enjoyment.

I bought this for my 18month old grandson who is car mad & he loves it!!! He can barely wait for me to put it in position when he's strapped in the car & has even insisted on bringing it into the house with us so he can sit with it on the sofa!! The only complaint i have is that is it quite flimsy so not very durable (have already had to tape up the stick as it was bent & snapped!) but for the price i suppose you can't expect too much! Will certainly buy this again when the other is beyond repair as it is a much played with toy!!!

I bought this for my granddaughter who is 3. She kept on at me she was driving when I was and was copying pretending to turn the keys and indicators. I then remembrered my own children having a steering wheel attached to their child seats when they were little and then found this wonderful toy on amazon. My granddaughter loves it. It has two sets of keys, indicator arms and a horn. It also has a mobile phone attached and I get told you must not use it when driving!! It is colourful and gives alot of enjoyment to us both.

I had bought 2 of these as we have 2 grandchildren of 5 and 2. Well I put them in positon in the rear of the car and boy did they respond with hitting every button available, remembering this has now become stereo! The honking of the horn, the idicators click, clicking away......I simply turned on the CD and this brought my whole world of calmness back to me. After some short time I got used to both sounds and all was well again. Great toy, they loved it...... can't go wrong with this.....me well the CD was great too!!!

This toy is probably out of date for today's child! It doesn't light up or make lots of noises, and most definitely does not use modern technology.. But my 2 grandsons aged 2 and nearly 4, absolutely LOVE it!! Perhaps because it is so simple!! It attaches by suction to the side window, which fascinates them, and the older one talks endlessly about running out of petrol, needing a new battery and having to get 'his car fixed ' while 'driving' !! A great success for a very small price!!

Has been an incredible help in aiding me to train my kids in the art of road rage. The hooter is right in the centre of the wheel meaning that even when they push it REALLY hard with the palm of their hands when in the midst of an extreme argument, the console remains solid. The stabilising sticks also double up really well as baseball bats for the times when we need to get out of the car and start a fight with opposing drivers. All in all, an excellent investment - 5 stars!
