I bought this set of cleaning tools for my two grandsons, ages 2 and 4. They love to use them to dust and to help clean the kitchen/eat-in-space. I was babysitting a couple of days ago and when we finished eating, I said, "We need to sweep the crumbs from the floor." Immediately the 4-year old ran to the closet and got out the brush and dust pan and the 2-year old retrieved the broom. They set to work and soon the crumbs were all dumped into the trash can. A little later, the older boy saw some blocks behind a storage cabinet. "Let me get them," he said. Off to the closet again; this time he grabbed the broom. Using the handle, he reached behind and under the cabinet and scooted the blocks near the edge for the 2-year old to reach.

I picked this up close to Christmas for $30. It's held up really well but I have to say, I wish my kids would actually use it for cleaning instead of chasing each other. Watching those two run around with a broom and mop above their little heads is reminicsent of those old pink panther movies. Those really old pink panther movies and specifically those scenes with kato and inpector clouseau. However, when they aren't chasing each other around the house and properly using the set I am very happy with it!! It's a toy that allows them to share, to participate in their own small way and helps develop cooperation. Its a worthwhile toy to invest in. Even if it were $40, I would have paid the difference.

Fantastic gift! What I really love about this more than other similar toys is that these feel and looks more classy. A lot of the similar toys look cheap and nasty to be quite frank but this doesn't! Not only that but each 'toy' can actually be used as a real bit of kit! This can help train your child into doing mini chores which will benefit them when they are older. Another great feature about this toy is that the design is elegant and stands tall, therefore not taking up too much space unnecessarily.One more point that I may add is that it's very stable and roughly the size or a toddler.Pros:- Elegant design using the appropriate amount of space.- Can be used in real-life situations.-

This is a cute, colourful set. It is well made and will stand up to the misuse young children may put it through. The only possible issue will be with the mop. When it is being used, the center of the mop may possibly cause a scratch on sensitive floors. This set is fully functionable . I fitted a microfiber cloth to the center of the underside of the mop just incase. This is the 2nd set that I have purchased. The kids love it so much so they will have a set at their Mother's and Father's now so can be used at either home. Any of the children can use it at the same time with the numerous parts and there is no problem getting them to hang the broom etc.

Perfect size for kids who want to ‘help’ you do the housework. They’ll do a terrible job at first, but they’ll get the hang of it. Encourages good habits and development of basic life skills, which is helpful because being tidy and able to clean is an everyone job. Help us all by raising children who will one day be able to look after themselves and not become an annoying burden for the people that they will one day live with/marry. Help them become self-reliant by learning to dust, sweep, mop, and toss it all in the dustbin with this lovely little set. Little kids love jobs, they love to help, train them while they’re young to contribute with this darling set. Very durable,

My kids love "cleaning" the kitchen. If by cleaning, you mean pushing items on the floor around with a brush. As a Dad this is fraught with danger and a few times now I've taken a standard broom handle to the chops as either my 3 or 1 year old tries to brandish it. I've given them a small brush designed for adults but these never prove very robust. Typically the head ends up falling off, or worse - occasionally the hanger pops off which is imminently chewable. This Melissa & Doug playset is well designed, with everything being one or two large pieces. Nothing falls off, nothing is eatable, they put up with being beaten around.Best of all, when my 1 year old spills his milk,

We got this for our 14 month old for Christmas, because he was always trying to grab the broom and mop from Momma while she was cleaning. It has been a huge hit. He carries his new broom around the house with him and likes to take the other pieces off the rack as well. This morning he even followed me around with his broom and mop while I was actually sweeping and mopping! It's very well made, and after only 5 days of use, I already feel like we got our money's worth out of this toy. I also love that the colors are gender neutral, lots of other cleaning toys are clearly targeted at girls, but everyone needs to learn how to clean!

Purchased this for my 17 month grandson for Christmas. He loved it. Started cleaning immediately. When my granddaughter's 2nd birthday was approaching, I knew that she would like this cleaning set also. When it was time to open it, our son called and we hooked up on SKYPE. We got to watch her open and start using it right away. She loves that it comes with a stand and she can put everything in its place. She used the duster as a giant hairbrush! We know that she will figure it out, but in the meantime, she is using it and having lots of fun. The parents like the fact that it is made in the USA of wood.

This became my sons no1 Christmas present, thanks Melissa & Doug.This is a great set for any toddler and in the over 2 months since Christmas, has been my sons most used present.The wood is of good quality and would not be easily broken. They attach to the stand which is of equal construction via rope on the end of each piece to a groove on each arm of the stand. It holds them enough that they wont all fall off if bumped against but wont provide any difficulty for the child in removing them.It's an easy 5 stars for Melissa and I'd give another 5 to Doug if I could.

My little one absolutely adores this set. It's really comfortable and pleasant to play with because of the sturdy wooden construction, and given how enthusiastic he is (and his attempts to use parts of it as a climbing frame!) there's no way that a plastic set would have survived more than a matter of days. The only minor issue is that he doesn't find it easy to clip the small brush back into the dustpan, so there has been a little frustration over that, but it's a very minor niggle against what is otherwise an excellent toy :)

I got this because my 14mo loves using the sweeper. She uses the mop and broom multiple times a day. She has a hard time getting it off the holder - the whole thing topples over but isn't so heavy that it would hurt her. Each item has a rope loop at the top that it uses to hang from a notched peg sticking out - I'm sure a kid the age meant for this could get it so it's my fault for letting a 14mo use it. But my 14mo can swing the mop and broom like nobody's business, it definitely works well for her.

My kids love this toy, my wife and I as well :)I think it's never too early to introduce it to toddlers, since my my wife and I wanted our twins to start helping with chores. Please don't judge me. My mom taught me how to use broom when I was ~3 so there is nothing wrong with me passing the knowledge. :)Anyway, product is great, durable and easy to use. The only downside is when my twins start swinging with a broom like a baseball bat, so I'll have to work on that. :)Thank you,Voja

I’m a massive fan of Melissa and Doug and these don’t disappoint. My daughter wanted a cleaning set but she’s a little heavy handed so I knew those plastic sets wouldn’t be up to the job and be broken in days . I ordered this and it’s awesome. All made of wood and nice good quality brushes and mop head and duster head . Looks really attractive, is strong and realistic. My daughter plays with this every day . Brilliant set highly recommended

Got it for my 2 year old as a Christmas gift and he loves it. He always finds something to clean now :) It’s perfect size for a 2-3 year old. The stand that the set comes with is super handy and the little one is getting into the habit of hanging things when finished playing! I stationed it in the kitchen and must say it looks really lovely - gorgeous bright colours and nice old school feel. Very good quality too.

I gave this to my Grandson who is almost 2 for Christmas. He loves to sweep. As he opened the present and saw what it was, he jaw dropped and he just couldn't believe that he was getting his own broom. I bought this one because he likes to put things away (not toys so much, but the broom he does!) and I thought he would like hanging it in its own special place with the other cleaning tools.
